Good all around rim tape

Pretty basic. It's rim tape. The four star review is because it was short. Fortunately, I was building a 650B. If I was doing a 29er build one of the rolls would have been short. I debated between this and the Stan's rim tape. I haven't switched to tubeless, or this wouldn't have been an option. It some ways I think I probably should have done the Stan's, and I likely will in the future. The Stan's is wider, and the roll is much longer, so you don't have to worry about it being short. When using this tape in the past I have had instances of it shifting over time and allowing some of the spoke holes to be partially open. This went into a new build, so we'll see how it goes.

No more chronic flat tires!

I kept getting flat tires on my 1 year old Trek Verve hybrid bike. I finally noticed most of the punctures were on the inside part of the tube facing the spokes. At first I thought maybe I was really bad at installing new tubes; but then I replaced the rim tape, and my chronic flat tires have stopped. Installation of the rim tape was very easy, and I didn't have to widen the hole to fit a schrader valve.

Good quality rim tapes

I have read reviews that say the rim tapes that comes with the bicycles are crap. After my last flat, I bought a replacement inner tube and this rim tape, and pull out the rim tape that came with the bicycle, and I then understand what the reviewers meant. The original rim tapes are actually sprayed on plastic tapes. They sort of cover the spoke heads, but leaves some sharp edges and little folds along the tape. If your innertube is highly inflated, it could come in contact with those sharp edges and cause damage and leakage. This Zefal rim tape is made of cloth and is very easy to apply on to the bare rims. I can see that the cloth Zefal rim tape is going to provide much better protection to the inner tube. I think everyone should replace the rim tapes that come with their bicycles to prevent flat tires.

Perfect For Mountain Bike Wheels - Make It Work For Schader Valves Too!

This is the best rim tape I've ever used. Perfection on every level, from ease of installation to quality of the product. I use this on my 26" XC wheels and it fixed the problems I had with the stock plastic-like crappy rim tape. This is a perfect fit for just about any MTB wheels.. wide enough to cover spoke holes with plenty to spare in width. The adhesive on the tape holds it in place flawlessly, but can be removed easily without leaving sticky slimy melted residue from riding in hot weather. The hole is sized for a presta valve. If you are old school like myself and rock the schrader valves, simply cut a small X into the hole.. otherwise you'll have trouble forcing the larger valve through the opening in the tape.

Does what it’s supposed to

This rim tape seems to be of good quality and does what it’s meant to do, keep the rim from popping it’s own tires. I only knocked off a star because the size chart was inaccurate for the 16” wheels I was buying it for. It’s best to measure the width for yourself before placing your order.

Very sturdy and keeps the spokes on my jogging stroller wheels from going through to the tire tubing. I was even able to use only one roll on both back tires so that I can have more should I need to replace it again. However I don't see a need for that anytime soon as it's doing such a great job. Not only that but it was so easy to put on that I couldn't have asked for a better product.

Fits mountain bike rim, looks heavy enough

Having struggled with slow leaks, I feared that even though I had a nice bike, maybe I was getting some 'poke from my spokes'. So when I went with new tires and tubes, I decided to try this. It is a wider product, perfect for a mountain/comfort bike (26X1.50 rim in my case). You can push it down into the groove of the rim and it still has some coverage to the sides. You wouldn't want to use it on a thin rim, that's for sure. Heavy enough, but not too heavy, and pliable.
