Great poles for the occasional hiker!!

These poles are great for the occasional hiker like me. They were a little stiff at first but can be adjusted easily to any height you need for the trail with a simple turn, adjust, and click into place. The only complaint I have is that the snow baskets kept falling off because I couldn’t get them to click into place. Arthritis in my hands made that impossible so I had a nice young gentleman help me snap them into place and voila, now they’re perfect.

Easy to adjust length

The quality is high; they are easy to adjust length as needed. Adjustable foot can be changed from walking mode to ski mode as needed.

Didn't work the first time using

I tried to use these for the white mountains and first day out, I used them downhill for about 10 minutes tried to readjust and they were done. They kept getting stuck, was with someone who knows about the gear and they said they were unusable. They look like the knock offs of the ones you can find in REI ... amazon knock offs, should have known.

Great to see if you enjoy using trekking poles

I have been pretty happy with these considering I bought them as a cheap set to see if I would enjoy hiking with poles. They are a little heavier than some of the lightweight models out there but they are unbeatable for 25 dollars. Over time they can become difficult to adjust the height and tend to stick at the end of hikes. The tips have held up well even on rocky trails on the AT though I don't use the baskets...I wish the handles were cork or some other material since they can be a bit chaffing after about 10 miles but they grip pretty well and again, for the price I'm pretty happy.

Great for the price

I bought a pair last week to hike my first 14er. I was a bit sketchy on getting a cheap pair of trekking poles for a 280lb fat guy. Well, I summited the 14er and it was time for the descent. These poles held up very well. I’m glad I bought these because they saved me from wiping out numerous times.

Great customer service!

We've used the MountainSmith Pinnacle trekking poles for over a year and really like them. They are collapsible and sturdy. I mostly use them for hiking, but also use them for snowshoeing. Recently I lost one of the snow baskets on my poles and couldn't find replacements baskets because the "threaded basket" style is no longer available. All the new poles use the locking basket. I called MountainSmith and they sent me new baskets for free! That's great customer service! Thanks MountainSmith!!
