Great Value, features of far more expensive options
To date I have a total of about 60 miles over 5 outings on these poles so the verdict is still out on longevity, and I will update this review accordingly. That said, I feel comfortable in taking a position on these as a result of my experiences this far. I was originally looking at the flick-lock Carbon poles from Cascade, but upon discovering this new product offering, I purchased these since I heavily prefer the folding design as a result of deep-seeded distrust of the flick-lock system. Even though it may be an irrational fear, I have taken a fall due to equipment failure in the past and would prefer not to do it again. Although these do have an upper section which is flick-lock for adjustability, even if that were to fail it would only compress a small amount, likely not enough to cause a fall. In the context I love this feature, as it allows me to adjust the height easily, with the added security of the folding design preventing a lock failure from causing a collapse. While mentioning this though I would be remised if I did not mention that these poles at their shortest setting may be a touch long for shorter hikers (44”). I am about 5’9”/5’10” depending on the day of the week, and even at their shortest length they are nearly long enough for me. I usually only extend them an additional 1”-1.5” which fits me perfectly for most terrain. Having this adjustability combined with the peace of mind that comes with folding poles makes these an ideal fit. Being that they are folding poles, they do not collapse and strap to my pack quite as quickly or easily as fully collapsible poles, but this comes with the territory of folding poles and a concession I am happy to make. The carrying case provided is sturdy and feels very durable. During a heavy rain summiting peaks at night in western North Carolina, the bag was strapped on the outside of my pack and did not retain much water. Even though it was raining very hard and persistently (it was a long night) the inside of the bag was mostly dry upon opening it. The poles remained tactile and allowed a good purchase on the cork handles even in heavy rain with soaked gloves. The Cascade Mountain Tech Carbon Fiber Folding Trekking Poles do not have a shock absorbing system, but do have a moderate amount of flex, although I never questioned their stability. The only issue I have had was with the locking mechanism. The connections rely on a plastic nut sliding up and over inclines when screwed together to create tension on the outer pole section. One of the connections on my original pole would not lock together. At first I assumed I had a faulty mechanism on that connection, though they do have a snug fit and the elastic tension holding it in place pretty well. I hiked many miles with this being the case and experienced no separation, but when I got around to it I contacted the manufacture and they promptly sent me out a replacement pole section with no hassle at all. High praise to the customer service team over at Cascade Mountain Tech. To my surprise though, the replacement pole section I was sent did the exact same thing, so I thought to myself that there is no way I am this unlucky. Upon investigating a little bit further, I found that that small plastic nut was not catching on the threads and was free floating. The fix was as simple as just getting the nut started on the threads. When I then pushed the poles together it locked tight just as expected. This is not really a problem, as it is not due to any defect, but is worth noting. I went back and saw that the same thing had happened to several other reviewers who, like I, thought they received a defective product. I would not really say this is a problem that should be addressed in manufacturing, but may be a good idea to include a footnote about it in the documentation that accompanies these poles. Both poles together come in at under a pound. When you receive them there are 3 different feet included which are a great addition, though I rarely use anything other than the carbide tip itself. As you would expect snow baskets are also included, and the plastic of the snow baskets and smaller baskets both feel very durable and well made. I have used these in heavy mud, and it protected well against over-penetration under load. This is a newer company, at least to me, and thus far I have been impressed with the quality of the product ad will check out more of their products in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend these poles to anyone looking for a high quality product at an outstanding value.

Good assistance for long hikes.
I'm 6'4 (170lbs). The height was more than enough for me and seem sturdy enough to bare my weight. Poles are easy to travel with (car, backpack, airplane). Light to carry while hiking. Building the poles takes maybe 2 mins to make sure everything is tight and adjusted. Useful assistance for ascending and descending hikes. Not the sturdiest poles but get the job done if you use them correctly. Grips don't get sweaty, but im not a sweaty person so depends on you. But overall I enjoy these poles for my hikes. I bought them back when they were $40 so wouldn't suggest buying them for more than $55. The carrying bags are a nice touch and can fit in my carry on suitcase when i traveled via airplane.

Good quality
Bought it for a 2 weeks trip to Banff and Jasper. The pole is easy to fold and pack in carry on luggage. It is quite easy to adjust the height as well. It has held up well during all the hikes, almost 100 miles total on different levels. The only complaint I have is the noise. It might have scared away wild animals during the hike though, which may not be a bad thing.

Lasted 3 years, with repairs
Used for backpacking and hunting, on and off trail, in very steep terrain. Cons: Almost immediately the carbon poles de-bonded/unglued from the aluminum unions. One by one, after trips I epoxied all of them into place and that resolved that issue. You have to be careful on takedown to not over or under tighten as well, as the c clip can become lost or you can begin stripping out the union. This season (3rd year of use) one pole union just gave up and became super wobbly, and on a fall the lower segment on the other just separated and disappeared into the abyss and I couldn't find it. The shock cording inside the poles makes a slight tick every time you touch the pole down with any force, so not silent, kinda annoying even outside of hunting. Pros: I liked the grips, and the takedown size, and the weight. I am 6' and the length was fine. They were cheap and I expected them to break much sooner actually. They didn't suffer from aluminum oxidization when wet for extended periods, that white stuff that jams up aluminum poles over time and seizes twist locks. Bottom line, decent for a cheap pole, but I am switching over to the z fold 3 piece style poles with the extendable section with push button and the coated cable instead of shock cording. I am tired of all the twistlock sections and the trouble they cause, the time it take to set them up, and noise of the shock cord. If Cascade mountain tech made these other z-style I would buy them.

Solid, but tedious to assemble and disassemble
There is a lot to like about these poles, especially the price. They are relatively lightweight. When assembled they are very solid/sturdy. The cork handles are comfortable and have lower EVA grips for going uphill. So why did I only give these 3 stars? First is the amount of time it takes to assemble or disassemble. You have to unscrew each joint several turns to get the poles apart and reverse the process for assembly. Most other folding poles come apart at the press of the button. The second thing is the elastic cord inside the poles is not encased in any kind of sheath like most poles. I worry that it would rub against the edge of the poles when they're broken down and eventually fray. If you're going to leave these assembled most of the time and only breakdown to put in your suitcase, then these poles are a great, affordable option. If you're a person who breaks the poles down several times a hike to stow in your pack, you will be frustrated by these.

Excelente producto
Altamente recomendable para los senderistas y montañistas, muy útiles tanto en la subida y bajada, muy firmes de buen material. En lo sucesivo seguiré utilizando esta marca de bastones.

Confusing description, poor quality, heavier than advertised
Firstly, I was misled to believe by reading the description that I was going to get the 4 pieces version, not the 3 pieces one. Two different weight are advertised (235.9g and 240g). Both poles weighted more (254 and 258g). My girlfriend got a pair of carbon Trekology poles which were lighter (even with the plastic tip at the end to a wopping 198g). The locking system is made out of cheap plastic. The elastic rope and plastic pieces holding it toegether looks like it’s gonna break anytime soon. Once assembled, there is a slight play. I would expect this from a $40.00 CAD (the price of the cRbon Trekology poles), but not from a $70.00 CAD ones. I returned them as they are simply disappointing in every aspect.

Terrible.
Be advised: these hiking foldable pokes are garbage. The string that holds the collapsible pieces together broke and the mechanism to make pokes longer and shorter fell off both and were lost so i can only use one length and the tightening mechanism does not hold. I am currently away and had to buy new pokes because these suck. I’d really like a refund. Today I almost fell into muddy water because I planted the pole in mud as I swing to a rock and instead of coming out clean as I yanked it opened into pieces and I fell into stinging plants and my left hand is sore and tingly still after 12 hours.
