Good product for what it needs to be
Bought two. Both were easy to assemble. Created a ton of extra storage for us in organizing our closet. Disagree with other reviews that structure isn't sturdy. I wouldn't go dancing on top of it, but it's great for what it is - a shoe / item organizer. One note - make sure to use a mallet or hammer to get dowels all the way in. The bottom of my organizer has a small breach with a dowel cracking the outside. Nothing to worry about because on the bottom, but a word for those new customers.

Perfect for my needs, but a little high priced for quality
I needed a shoe organizer that was 36" wide to go under my entry table and this was one of only a few i found that appeared decent. It arrived in the original box, no amazon box surrounding it. And it had some dings on the outside and sure enough, was damaged. But i am going to live with it bc after i opened the box, it would have been impossible to send back. Plus like i said, only a few to select from, well that will satisfy my OCD ;-) and i am going to have to overlook the visible dings on the front... But, it holds a ton of shoes and the size is perfect. I can fit 3-4 pair of flip flops easily in one cubbie. Perfect for my needs to house my shoes and my toddlers. I was able to put his crocs in the back with his tennis shors easily in front. It took me and my 4 yro an hour to put together. You WILL need wood glue. Giving it 3 stars bc for the quality, its not worth more than $20-$25 and i paid $42. Also, it is more dark brown than black/expresso. Matches photo *** i tried adding several photos of the bangs, splits, and damage but only a couple were posted, the not as bad ones...

Sturdy and well designed but had a marred finish
The cubby was just the right size for my closet and I am able to stack one on top of it should my needs grow. I'd be super pleased with it except the top had a marred finish where the veneer was ripped off. I considered returning it but then decided it was easier to just flip the thing over since I wasn't using the feet. If I need to stack another one on top it won't matter either. Otherwise the design is good and includes dowels and glue to make it extra sturdy.

Love these shoe shelves.
I recently did a complete closet makeover and added several ClosetMaid components. Adding two shoe stations, cabinets and cubbies have given me great storage. ClosetMaid is a great way to have the storage without the cost of custom cabinetry.

Sturdy, but took 8 hours to assemble
This ClosetMaid shoe station is sturdy. I could barely lift the box that the pieces came in. After my husband and I finished assembling it, I was able to pile my cardmaking supplies in the cubbies and on top of it with no fear of imminent collapse (see customer image). However, this Shoe Organizer took roughly 8 hours to assemble, allowing time for the glue to dry and there were NO WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS, only pictures. One of the holes where we were supposed to attached panel D to Panel B was only partially drilled, so in addition to the two screw drivers, glue, and hammer shown in the instructions' picture, you might also need a drill to assemble this Organizer.

Fragile and dysfunctional
This shoe cubby is very fragile. When building it, I tried to move it, and one of the parts broke off from minimal force being applied to it. When building, plan ahead, because only one side of each part is painted, so make sure they are all facing the same way. I bought this for dress shoes, and it cannot store a pair of oxfords in one cubby. I would have to partially stack them on top of each other to make them fit. Boat shoes fit fine, but not dress shoes. Also, screws and wooden dowels are NOT interchangeable. If a part feels like it doesn't fit, don't try to force it in. The parts of the cubby have different sides for different parts (wooden dowels, wooden pegs, screws), even though it may not seem like it. If you think you need a hammer or screw driver or power tools when the directions don't say to use them, you are doing something wrong. If you choose to get this product, be very careful when building it, because it is very fragile, and very easy to break (the wooden dowels snap VERY easily). Wood glue is also required to build this. Make sure to follow the directions to a tee, read them in advance, and make sure you fully understand every step before even starting. I would recommend spending more money, and getting a better product.

Would Be Best for a Dorm Room and Smaller Shoes
This is a decent shoe cubby for the money. I was expecting it to be a little higher quality, but you get what you pay for. This would be a good option for a dorm room since it's functional and not high-quality. I wear size 12 mens shoes and I cannot store my shoes side by side plus they stick out a little bit (I should have looked more closely at the dimensions). I have my shoes stacked on their side like they would be in a shoe box. It does the job though, but it's nothing fancy.

My closet was the worst part of our home
I have been on an organizing rampage since last year... this year I updated my kitchen, my son's room and our bedroom closet... when I say 'UPDATE' I mean I've revamped the way I store things and the way I've organized it. My closet was the worst part of our home. We went from having individual closets to sharing 1. I just threw everything in there and never took the time to make it work. Recently I purchased a different storage items and this was one. It sits on the floor on my husband's side and he uses it for his shoes. There is space on top for a printer and his shaving caddy. We love how it looks. Once I'm done with the closet I will add pix.

Good value for the money.
These are perfect for my new closet. I ordered four of these for my shoes and other small items. They were easy to put together, instructions were very clear. I am pleased with the quality as they are very solid and stable

Good products
Our family bought two of them. It is very good on the side of our gate~ making the area beautiful, clean and in order. We even put some colorful pumpkins ???? on it, making the previous disordered place an enjoyable site. For the bigger male shoes, the room can be tight, just like the picture show. Good purchase overall

Keep A Close Eye on Which Wooden Dowels You Use When Assembling
I made the unfortunate mistake of using the short dowels instead of the longer ones on a couple of the dividers and ended up having to yank them, which subsequently pulled out some of the surrounding MDF wood. The storage compartments are ok for smaller shoes, but larger ones may not fit as well. Other then me using the wrong dowels for part of the assembly, the unit went together pretty well. I assembled two of them, so didn't make the same mistake twice.
