Great value

Only practiced around with it once so far but I like how the face (has grooves) and grip (much nicer) are upgraded over the Wilson Prostaff chipper. It fits nicely in my older putter head cover.

Great around the green

For someone that has trouble around the green this club is the perfect solution when you don't have to go aver sand or water, bump and run only

Stroke saver for me!

I have a bad habit of blading my pitching wedge when trying to chip up onto the green. At first, I tried using an 8 iron and sweeping the ball, but had trouble with consistently controlling the speed. I tried this Wilson Hybrid today and I'm certain it took strokes off of my game (shot an 88 today). It's easiest to use when just a few yards off the green, and since the stroke is the same as a putter, it's pretty easy to judge speed needed for distance. I'm happy I bought it an am looking forward to my next round.

Probably not the clubs fault

The club is well made, looks and feels good. This didn't fix the fact that I just can't chip. I have a couple friends that really swear by these but it wasn't the magic solution to my game. I guess I should have used the money for a lesson.

It Takes Some Time to Learn How to HIt with Expected Results

I have only played with this club for 3 rounds. It has helped my short game, mostly. I think that it will take some more practice to learn how to hit and get expected results, especially, for short chips. I think the theory is you use a putting stroke, at least that is what I do for short chips, but I haven't used it enough to learn how hard a stroke to make in every situation. When it works, it's amazing and I chipped into the hole once already. It is a nice well made club.

Best purchase I've made for my golf game

SIMPLY my close game was horrendous. The PW was my worst enemy and it was adding too many strokes onto my score. This club can't replace a wedge for long shots. Anything more than 30 yards you still should be using a wedge unless you can chip it and let it roll on the fairway. Since buying this club my average round was 125 over 18 and I just shot a 108 which should have been under 100 but I fell apart on the back 9. The Wilson chipper is simple easy and effective. It's best utilized out of the tough so you can get a bit under the ball. From the fairway is tougher because you're not prone to thin you shot then in the rough. I've chipped in out of the rough, out of a shallow bunker, and down the fairway when 60 yards out and let it roll. Amazing purchase.

Quality club from Wilson at a very cheap price.

For what this club will do for your golf if you are like me you would have paid ten times the price. So chippers are a bit like hybrids and are getting more and more popular. And for good reason. I pay somewhere in the region of £350-£400 for a new driver every two years and this is out of brand loyalty not for any massive gains in my game. Having taken what was really a Half hearted purchase on this I am humbled to say it is a game changer not just for me but for my friends who all flocked over to my bag to see what it was. If Taylormade suddenly came out with one for £160 I would question why pay that for it as this Wilson chipper is quality. It has a good weight to the head which allows for constant speed through impact to the ball and follow through even through taller grass and even the rough. The best thing about the design is that you take a putting stroke and not a chipping swing. The extra weight of the head adds the required punch to send the ball off the face so control is maintained throughout the stroke. I am buying a second one of exactly the same loft so that I can always have it in my bag if the other gets damaged or more likely borrowed by friends.

I know a lot think it is cheating but I find it easier to use than a pitching wedge when you are on the edge of the green. With a putting swing, the ball hops onto the green for you.
