My Go-to strap
Built well, easy to use. I use the Malone straps for my kayaks and boards.

I use these to strap down surfboards to my car via horizontal standard car rocks. The neoprene around the buckle area is a nice addition so that it gives padding and protection to the buckle. The length on these are more than enough for two surfboards stacked on top of each other. Time will tell on how long the ends stay together without fraying. My guess is they wont last for a super long time. However, this should be an easy fix with glue or some heat to melt the frayed parts together. Would buy again

The bright red lets you know when it is time to replace-- when it fades.
I was skeptical of buying a newer version of the product but it is basically as good as the old version. I like the "shield" over the cinch.

Good straps
Does the job well, and I have not had any troubles. Used these to secure my kayaks during hurricane hermine. The eye of the storm passed us, and the next day the kayaks were still secured to the rack. I would not buy these for this purpose, other than what it is meant for. I noticed that one reviewer said that it loosens over time. I tie a half hitch after the buckle. That will keep the strap from backing out and loosening. The buckle protectors that keeps the buckle from scratching your car is a little flimsy and mine broke. It is still an easy fix, and you can't beat the price.

Nice Solid Light duty straps- good for kayak or small car top boat.
Nice straps- Solid, actually better than in the photo. Easy to use, I got mine just the right length for my small car top sailboat but my son uses them for his kayak. I would have given 5 stars but I saw a pack of 4 much heavier straps at Home Depot for about the same price. These were even better for most people because they had the sturdy ratchet type latch. For my use, I didn't need that heavy duty or complicated connection but I was surprised that they were much more substantial than these and you got 4 for about the same price as these.

I highly recommend these straps for any tie down needs
Easiest straps I've used. Definitely saved me a couple of minutes work trying to mount my Kayak on top of my truck. It held up well and did not budge at all. I only used these two straps and drove 20 miles to the Potomac River at about 55-60 MPH. I highly recommend these straps for any tie down needs. I might have to shorten the length on one due to the extra slack at the back of my kayak but just a little nervous on modifying a great strap.

Cheap.
I actually bought these straps several years ago in anticipation of getting a canoe that never happened. Just recently I started using them for the first time. After a few uses the metal buckle literally broke. The metal broke. Hard to believe the actual metal would break before the strap itself. I have cheap Home Depot straps that have lasted much longer. As an aside the plastic and neoprene around the buckle were just annoying and got in the away.

Buckle arrived with cheaper felt pad protector not neoprene; too short and thinner nylon strap
I ordered these buckles because my friend has them and they work really well. However I was disappointed when mine arrived and they have a different protective covering than what I’d been led to believe. Instead of the black neoprene covering both sides of the buckle, the ones I ordered have a thinner felt strip only on the underside. It appears that it will do the job of protecting what’s underneath but seems less durable that the neoprene. Both my friends buckle and the listing for the ad I purchased from show the neoprene buckle. I dropped two stars: one for the lower quality protective pad and one for incorrect advertising. Pictured on the left is my friends buckle and on the right is the one I just received. Update: after measuring them I noticed they are only 11 feet long each, not 12. If you’re going to sell a product that is listed as 12 feet make sure it’s 12 feet! Also, the nylon strap appears to be a thinner material than my friend's straps. I’ve dropped it to two stars as a result.
