Great flavor, excellent for camping trips

Great grill portable easy to set up and use can close dampers and snuff out charcoal over and over.

Damaged, but a pain to return—Chargriller came through!!

Updated: the seller sent us a whole new damper. My husband replaced the broken one with this and it works perfectly. We love this bbq!, When this came, both the outer and the inner packaging were damaged. The small plastic handle that opens the chimney was broken in half and 2 screws were missing. My husband had replacement screws, and for now, he has taped the 2 broken pieces of the handle together (see 2nd picture at top of the egg). He loves this little barbecue and says it is super easy to use. I would like the seller to provide a replacement handle—that’s all. If I go through the regular Amazon replacement process, I will have to return the whole thing, and that will be a pain in the neck. It is heavy, and I do not have the original box anymore.

To grill or not to grill

Wow! What a well made, handy, extremely sturdy, and handsome griller/Smoker!!! Not only is it impressive to look at (a beautiful cobalt blue, super compact, really cool shape), but it functions better than grill/smoker I’ve ever used. I was told to go with a propane type outdoor barbecue by a number of friends and family members. I decided not to because it would have been too difficult for my wife or I to remove, refill and reattach a propane type tank. With this char-griller, you simply use briquettes and/or your favorite wood chips and easily clean them out afterwards. Using the recommended amount of briquettes, this baby gets up to around 600 F. Amazing really when you see how few briquettes you need to use in order to achieve good heat in this wonderfully compact, multi-functional griller. The char-griller is made mostly of what appears to be a high quality iron. There isn’t a single piece that hasn’t been made with the utmost effort and precision that I can tell. It’s completely functional, easy to assemble, easy to clean. And it looks sturdy enough to last a lifetime. This lovely product has made grilling for us a hugely satisfying experience. We just moved here from NYC where outdoor grilling had been banned for many years. But now that we’re here, to grill or not to grill is no longer the question.

Kamado Char-Griller without breaking the bank.

The Junior arrived 8/24/2022, unboxed on 09/02/2022. Simple and pretty easy assembly. I placed it on a summer sale metal patio table, making the height perfect. The 400 degrees breaking-in and seasoning process gave me time to get use to the heat vents adjustment operations (Thanks YouTube!). On the first cook, grilled two small steaks which cooked super fast without burning. The results were delicious. The next day performed a another seasoning of the grate then slow cooked some ribs and chicken drumsticks. It made the Labor Day weekend flavorful and memorable. We prepared enough and were happy to have leftovers for the week. It does require patience when adjusting the vents but well worth the wait. Since the Akorn Jr. is a smaller Kamado it heats up quicker. If you can’t wait, use a gas grill. Hardwood bricketts or lump is the recommended fuel which leaves little ash. The great part, the leftover coals can be reused. A great trainer for those wanting egg shaped style

Awesome Addition

I thought using this with charcoal would be challenging learning experience. It's not. It was so easy that I cook my lunches on this most days, and dinner if I can. For 1 or 2 people this little thing is great. Easy to clean, easy to cook on, the only issues I had were during assembly. The lid is a bit off center, and one of the leg's screw holes was stripped out. IF amazon hadnt offered a discount I'd have returned for a different one, but definitley not a deal breaker this thing is so much fun to use.

Compacto, con una muy buena relación calidad-precio

Al inicio me pareció muy pequeño, pero es muy importante ir adquiriendo experiencia para decidir que alimentos ir asando, el orden es muy importante para que los comensales empiecen a disfrutar del asado al mismo tiempo. Fue suficiente para una parrillas de 6 personas. El consumo de carbón fue muy bajo. Es muy práctico poder tener la cubierta cerrada, porque se incrementa muy rápidamente la temperatura interior y los alimentos se cocinan también muy rápidamente. Nunca me habían quedado tan buenos los huesos tuetaneros, hasta la utilización de este asador. Aunque su altura es bajísima y no entiendo el por qué, nos la pudimos ingeniar estando sentados frente a él para ir manipulando el asado. La verdad estoy muy contento con este producto.

Llevo como 10 asados y en mi opinión este asador me ha alcanzado para reuniones de hasta 8 personas ya que mantiene muy bien el carbón

La parrilla llego rota, deberían colocarla en otro lado de la caja.

Llego con la parrilla rota, todo lo demas perfecto, por favor hagan un esfuerzo por colocar la parrilla en otro lado que sea LA BASE donde recae todo el peso del articulo. Voy a volver a pedirlo aver si tengo suerte y llega bien, de lo contrario otra vez tendre que devolverlo.
