Almost too short
Cable is too short. Struggled to get it attached because it was barely long enough to attach and tune. If it was 1/4” shorter it wouldn’t be possible. Other than installation problem it works fine

easy install, used U-tube help to adjust derailleur
easy to insert into cable housing

The cables are not high quality stainless steel as advertised and Not returnable to Amazon
Buyer beware!!!! these cables came to me in a clear plastic bag with no indication that they are a Shimano product, the company that is selling them is not Shimano, however they told me that they buy in bulk from Shimano and repackage them, you just don't know what your getting for sure, so now do you take the risk of problems after installing them? They look okay but it's a crap shoot. They are also "magnetic" , and from my experience, all quality cables classified as Stainless Steel are, "non-magnetic". With non stainless cables you could eventually end up with rust issues. When I went to return them I saw the note on Amazon that these cables are non-returnable but the representative from the company that sells the cables, said I could return them via Amazon, I'll go from here, but doesn't sound too good. Save yourself the hassle, go to a bike store-

Little Details that Matter
It's been a while since I purchased one of these cables, and when I bought this one I was pleasantly surprised. This is a high quality part here's why. Material: Stainless Steel, it won't rust. The strands on the cut end have been welded together. I was able the thread the entire cable the whole length from the shifter to the derailleur without be concerned with fraying the end. This made installation simpler, easier and quicker. Once I got it installed and connected to the derailleur I used wire cutters to snip off the extra foot or so of cable and slipped on the aluminum end protector that was provided. The end protector has a raised collar at its open end that you just squeeze in a pliers to crimp it tightly in place. The protector crimped correctly the first time unlike the old-style ones that would often slip off.

Reliable shift cable for a decent price.
Purchased this to replace the shift cable for an Ultegra rear indexed shifter. I went the stainless steel route to avoid rust and wanted to stay away from the teflon-coated cables because in the past I have had the coating flake off, exposing the cable to the elements. This cable was easily fed through the shifter, tubing, and derailleur without the end fraying. Additionally, once installed, there wasn't a lot of cable stretch so I only had to re-adjust the cable tension once several hundred miles after installation. In general, a pretty basic shift cable that you don't have to worry about and it doesn't break the bank.

As advertised with end crimp
easy to install and greatly improved shifting compared to my old cables.

Perfect replacement
Perfect replacement for my broke cable. I used this to replace the cable to the front shifter on my Trek bicycle. It would have been long enough to go to the back one if needed. The end was welded in such a way that the cable was easy to thread through the existing tubing. In the package was a small ferrule that I was able to smash onto the end of the cable once cut to keep it from fraying. It took me about 10 min to have my bicycle back to operating as it should. I will definitely buy more of these in the future as other cables wear out.

Good cable
Cable seems to be pretty good. What can I say does the job lol I was in the middle of rebuilding my entire bike, the cables wern't old so I figured I could save them but a couple of them where in rough shape so I took the old derailleur cable and used it upfront, this one replacing the old one.
