These are mini.......not regular DP connectors. However.......

The mini DP connectors work well. When they arrived, I saw I mistakenly ordered mini's.....so I put them aside. But then I ended up using them on another video card upgrade that only had mini DP connectors. Don't know where the trend is going for DP connections but for smaller video card upgrades these cable worked well. They are easier to connect and disconnect vs the regular size DP connectors that you have to pinch (with some force when they are new) to get disconnected.

Decent Cable, surprisingly does 4k 60 hz even though advertised only at 1080p

I was hesitant about this cable as my monitor is 4k 60 hz but I read in the title said it was 1080p and the description said that it supported "up to 1080p", but further in the description, it said it "Supports 4K Video." Amazingly, I got 4K 60 hz from the cable. Working perfectly without any issues.

Works as intended

I wanted this specifically to hook up my Microsoft Surface to an external monitor, since it doesn't have an hdmi port. Only used it for a few hours so far, but it definitely gets the job done. My surface detects and connects to the monitor instantly when I plug in the mini DP.

Cable works great

Wanted to use a monitor with my older surface laptop. It doesn't have a HDMI output only the mini output. Cable works great, no degradation in graphics, speed, etc. However, I recommend getting a cable longer than 3 feet. I failed to realize how far my laptop is from the monitor.

Does its job

im using it with an rtx a2000 without any issues for the most part. i do only get 75hz though on my 144hz monitor though. if thats not an issue you care about at the moment, get it. it works just fine on regular run of the mill 60hz tvs and monitors.

Works great

No complaints. Plug and play. The left display uses a regular hdmi cable. The right display uses the display port to hdmi cable. No noticeable differences between these displays. Works great.

Good price for a Passive (not Active) MINI DP to HDMI lead. Might need active for ultrawide though.

I learnt something new after buying this, maybe it will help someone. Apparently there are two different types of MINI DP to HDMI - Active & Passive. This cable is passive. It turns out that I needed Active. I was trying to connect a Surface Pro tablet to an ultrawide monitor but using this passive cable I could only get native HD resolutions and not the differently-proportioned ultrawide resolutions. If you have similar issues, where you can only get a 16:9 or similar picture try swapping your cable for one with an active transcoder build in. I ended up getting the Microsoft branded active MINI DP to HDMI adaptor which solved the problem, but that doesn't stop me recommending this as it works great on my standard 16:9 monitor and the price was great. Just be aware that it's passive and not active, and that that is even a 'thing', as it was a fun fact of the day for me to learn so hopefully it helps someone else.

Higher than 1080p get another cable

Cable is not suitable for surface pro. While it displays a 1080 display it will not transmit anything more. Make sure you look for other cables if you want a higher resolution

it stopped working after the OS update.

it was working all fine and smoothly before i update my os to the latest version. it stopped working after updating to the latest mac ossierra version. apple is doing everything to stop support accessories if it is not from the apple accessories. isn't this illegal or someone should really sue apple to the court. its a first trillion dollar company in history of the world and such unethical business practice. i hope some powerful lawyers r reading this comment.

Cheap, and I should have known better

So, does the cable work? Yes. Does it do what I expected? No. It would appear that there needs to be some sort of chip / processor in these cables to achieve full resolution. I can output from the Surface Pro fine, but at 1080p = 1920 x 1080. The Surface outputs to my 4K monitor at 3840 x 2160 i.e. 4K. So, my 4K TV (for which I bought this cable) works, but at a poor (by comparison) resolution. The cables that do the conversion seem to cost around £30-£40 so if you want 4K then *do not* buy this. If you are happy with 1080p then this is obviously much cheaper.

Only works in one direction

As far as I can tell this cable only outputs from Mini DisplayPort to HDMI, it does not output from HDMI to Mini DisplayPort. I attempted to connect my Wii U to a 2010 iMac using Target Display Mode but this did not work as intended. The cable looks to be of good quality and I assume it works as intended in the opposite direction but have not tested this as it is of no use to me this way.
