Great communications tool
This helmet is quite comfortable, adjusts well and stays comfortable after a long ride. Like most people I imagine, I bought a pair of these for their communications capabilities, which I see as three main things. 1: Phone. This works well enough as a phone headset, it would be better with some voice command features, for example to answer a call by voice command. Aside from that the audio quality is good, the speakers are tinny but adequate, the microphone is good and wind/noise rejection seems to be good enough in most cases. When there is a lot of environment noise it can be tough to hear the call and the other person hears a lot of noise. 2: Music. As others have said, the speakers are super tinny, with close to zero low-end response. I still like this better than ear buds so I can hear what's going on around me but still get some music as a distraction. If you expect good sound quality for your tunes, you're not going to get it. 3: Intercom. This is the killer feature. We just took a 4-hour ride with the intercom on the whole time, and it was nearly flawless. Twice the audio degraded to the broken-robot state when digital comms get out of sync, but a quick disconnect then connect fixed the problem. The sound quality was plenty good enough the entire time except for those two times the things got out of sync. We were on mostly flat open terrain and the range went out to about a quarter mile without issue, beyond that it seems like we were stretching the limits. Summary: After 4 hours the battery reported 80% so more than adequate battery life, audio quality good enough for phone and intercom, but sorta crappy for music. The intercom feature is awesome. Overall highly recommend as long as you can live with tinny music. I can't give 5 stars due to the tinny sound, I'd give 4.5 if Amazon allowed fractional stars. Two things I'd like to see improved: sound quality, and firmware update from the app rather than having to use a computer with a USB connection.

A Great product with issues.
The fit, comfort, Bluetooth, etc...all great. But the Bluetooth buttons on the helmet can break easily. SO...just go easy on them and push straight in... They covered my broken helmet with a swap replacement., where your return goes in the mail and gets detected as shipped, then they send the replacement. Fine! It took a few weeks. Except I needed a helmet in the mean time....and I have to admit, I bought another Sena. Now one black and one white for the night. Overall, I'm happy but at the same time kinda thinking Sena should be embarrassed about the ; 1) cheap plastic switch in a relatively expensive helmet and 2) this is a switch a medium skilled average individual could replace. But their not available. It would be exponentially less expensive to replace the switch, one's self, than the entire helmet.....even if they fix the replacements themselves. But they did their duty and backed it...slowly but well done. Thanks Sena!!

You’ll be excited to use this helmet
I had a real problem where I didn’t want to wear my helmet. This helmet fits well, has amazing battery life, and adds so much value to riding. The intercom works GREAT. By far the best value add. I’d pay more for fuller audio, more prominent rear lighting, and better app features like directly updating firmware.

Must have for Bike Touring, Trail Riding
I met a couple who were using the R1 Evo on their electric bikes and told me they were life changing. I watched some YouTube video reviews and read up about the M1 evo on the company website and decided this was the way to go. After reading the negative reviews on here I was hesitant but decided to spring for them. One of the complaints was that the FM radio was missing. Yes this is correct, no radio but no where on here or the company website does it say the helmet has this feature. The second complaint was about updating the firmware. As soon as I installed the android app I was prompted to update the firmware via a computer. I connected the helmet up one at a time, read the instructions for updating, and within 10 minutes had both updated to the latest software. Super simple! Now for the important stuff. I'm an avid cyclist who enjoys everything from long haul tours to quick rips on the local MTB trails. Between my wife and I we have 8 bikes in the garage (2 adventure touring, 2 MTB, 2 e-bike touring, 2 fat bike e-MTB). We ride together frequently and often find ourselves unsuccessfully trying to communicate through difficult situations on the trails or busy streets as she is not as experienced or confident yet. This has at times created tense and potentially dangerous situations where we are out of sync with each other while making split second decisions. Our first test ride of the helmets was a quick 30 mile e-bike ride through mixed bike path, road and trail. The intercom far exceeded our expectations. Voice detection was clear super accurate. Even when coasting down a large hill at 30+ mph I could hear my wife loud and clear. We knew after just a few miles of riding these were going to be a game changer. Our destination was a local vineyard and I was easily able to communicate 150+ yards from my wife who was waiting with the bikes while I went in and ordered a couple glasses of wine. Battery life was still high upon our return and I don't see it ever becoming an issue. The increased safety and confidence created by having such a clear line of communication at all times is indeed life changing. It truly helps unify and clarify decisions about potentially hazardous situations while riding. Some words of wisdom: 1. Watch some YouTube reviews if you aren't convinced yet. 2. Learn the button shortcut commands. There is a cheat sheet inside the phone app. 3. Turn the helmet and mesh intercom on before getting on your bike. 4. Use Siri / Hey Google voice commands. 5. You can have GPS directions running simultaneously while also communicating and it works brilliantly. 6. The back helmet strap ratchets down to allow for a ponytail to pass through. 7. Be prepared to hear your partners comments on every cute dog they pedal by.

Awesome Helmet s
These helmets are indispensable if you are riding with a friend/spouse. Communications are crisp and clear. I am pleasantly surprised at the distance they can be used!

Love this!
These helmets are amazing! We have friends we like to ebike with who had these and talked us in to buying them. We already had great helmets but we bought them anyway after trying them out. It is so nice to be able to communicate with the group when riding! I just wish we could connect more friends without having to upgrade these helmets to even more expensive ones that connect 12people.! We usually ride with 5 of us and one person gets left out because these only connect 4 people. Great helmets!

Excellent Intercoms Helmet
This helmet works perfectly for me and my wife to talk to one another during a bicycle ride. Voice is clear with minimal wind noise. The sound is tinny so not brilliant for music, but excellent for intercoms between bikes. Highly recommend.

Disappointing audio.
The helmet fits well and is comfortable, the rear lights work well, but there is a lot of wind noise over 15mph from the helmet. The feature that should be the best is the most disappointing the audio is awful in coming calls cannot be heard properly sounding glitchy and music is shrill and tinny. I have returned the helmet for a refund.
