So much smoke!

This box sits on my 3 burner Camp Chef stove. I was skeptical at first, but this thing is AWESOME! The taste of a burger after being cooked in this bow is so flavorful. The taste is better using this then when I use my propane bbq. So much smoke is produced when using this box and that smoke creates a wonderful bbq flavor to any meat being grilled. This is worth every penny and is so sturdy it will probably outlive me!

Well-thought-out and very effective single-burner BBQ Grill for multiple types of grilling!

As part of Camp Chef's mix and match grill items, this is definitely a winner! The box can be used open for direct cooking, or with the lid attached for various indirect, steaming or similar cooking methods. The box is well-made and robust. We also protect it from the elements by storing it in a Camp Chef storage bag that works perfectly with the BBQ box. In use, the unit is easy and a joy to cook on. In our case we partner the single-burner BBQ box with one of Camp Chef's flat top griddles and can cook a plethora of various foods at the same time with the appropriate base...grill or griddle! One of the great things about Camp Chef is their Customer Service. Unbeatable in my opinion and I have had multiple interactions with them...all with outstanding advice or resolution! This is a FIVE STAR rating for me as an Advanced Home and Personal Chef who cooks regularly outdoors and in campsites. Dont get this. pay more and get other ones.

So here's another "i don't do reviews much". But this grill disappointed for me for $99. First, came dented and chipped. Kinda ok, I just hammered it back. Not Campchefs fault. But the workmanship is cheap. It has a cheap black paint that chips alot. Friable. If you scrape with ur finger nail, you can actually peel away the black paint. And look at the grill. The whole thing is black painted. SO you can get small black chips and dust particles like a pepper shaker...everywhere. it never goes away. I wipe it down and vaccuum the paint chips....but more keep forming. Does this black paint have lead? I dunno. Most other grills I owned have a enamel painting that doesnt chip like a weber kettle for example. But this thing is like a cold steel sheeting with black spray paint. Sure its cheap $99, but don't bother getting this. I wanted a cheap thing to use for my camping...but this is too cheap and possible unhealthy and dangerous. If you want a grill for your outdoor cooking system, I think get the other ones with hinged lid...they look stainless and maybe wont chip paint....but I dunno since I dont own those....maybe someone can describe those if they dont chip paint. Overall, the grill grate is cast iron though and sturdy...but its cast iron so be aware. Not a porcelain or stainless thing. Just saying, for $99 not worth it. If it came enamel painted and porcelain grates, then dang whata deal. but alas, wondering IF I should return this. I still have time.

Use Caution - Handle Will Burn You - 245 degrees

I like this grill for atop my Camp Chef cooktop, but beware, the handle is not insulated enough. The pics will show you the handle temp, 245 degrees, while grilling chicken. I tried insulating it with a foam pipe insulation. The second pic will show you what happened to the insulation. Somehow, they need to better insulate the handle. DO NOT use the handle to lift the lid without a hot plate pad or something to insulate.

This grill box is a very good buy.

I got the grill box this weekend and I bought some lean burgers to grill and here’s a few things I noticed: The grill box is very sturdy and the grill itself is all cast-iron. It’s kind of a heavy grill and I feel it”ll last for 3 generations. The box itself is made of a metal that is pretty strong but it’s not cast iron so don’t listen to the negative reviews about it as it’s still pretty good next to the cast iron grill. The under grill part of the box is designed to evaporate the dripping grease back into your food, well it works. I had to clean out the bottom of the box still but it wasn’t bad at all. Over all I love this grill especially that the meat did not hardly stuck at all to the grill. You can re-season the cast iron grill if you want to before use as you should re-season it any way at least once a month which will keep the non-stick surface. But the grill in the box is ready for use right away. I feel all in all this is a great buy.

great grill! I have no idea what people are talking about when they say they have issues with this. used it all weekend multiple times and it preformed amazing! I highly recommend this.

This is the highest quality stove / BBQ / smoker system I have ever used or have been able to find. I live alone and have a small patio just needed something for myself and this fits the bill completely I bought a cast iron smoker box from Walmart and turned it into a gas smoker just like that! I bought the heat diffuser and put the smoker box on top of that as per the instructions and the grill box on top of the smoker box it's not a perfectly flush fit a little wobbly but it works! Oh my goodness does it work I bought a Weber rib rack and it fits perfectly underneath the lid I am currently smoking two racks of spare ribs! Ok so been using for a while and stopped due to food tasting like propane...guess that should have been obvious with a 30,000 BTU grill lol Perfectly edible just never noticed that taste with other grills?

Great bbq for camping

I bought the Camp Chef BBQ to use on my Camp Chef 2 burner cook top. I also have the combination griddle, grill. The bbq box is great for when we are camping. It makes great steaks, hamburgers and other food. The size is great for our family, and what’s better is it is small enough to store easily in our trailer. I have the camp chef carry bags which makes it easy to store and keep clean. The one thing that you have to watch out for is that due to the gas burner being below the bbq, you do get flare ups while cooking so you need to keep a spray bottle with water to spray when these occurs. But this is not a big problem if you pay attention. I strongly recommend buying the bbq box.

What a nightmare of a grill

Item came damaged and bent. I had to fix it. Couldn't return as I was leaving for 1 week camping and needed it. Doesn't fit the campchef stove grill right as it is slightly larger and falls off one side so no longer level. Makes a mess of the stove underneath and no grease drain Lid can't clamp to the stove so it's a pain to move or store The metal is so thin and flimsy What exactly was camp chef thinking and why send me a beat up product from the seller. Not happy

Great BBQ for one burner

I originally thought I was buying a BBQ to cover two burners for my Camp Chef (I didn't realize you could buy a single). I ended up selling this one to my brother who only has two people in his family. Great BBQ, Camp Chef is an excellent product, ended up buying the double.

Good for one burner. It was easy to assemble and it's easy enough to clean. It does the job it was made for.

Does the job

Does the job. I do wish that it was easier to transport though. The base and lid don't latch together and its finicky to put away as a result. I'm going to try to finagle some bunji cords to hold both items together for transport rather than buying the case.

Shipping issues, but works good.

First one came damaged. They sent a another one which was a bit better, but not great. Quality lacking. Works well for what it's worth, if you receive it in good condition.
