Moisturizes for several days

This product is overpriced but I like the packaging, it looks pretty on my kitchen counter. It’s high quality, no fragrance or chemicals added. It makes a lovely gift for a friend or your mom and it keeps my skin soft for several days if I don’t use soap it lasts me a week of soft skin. It does need to be heated up in order to apply, it’s difficult to rub in of its not been liquified prior as it’s real shea butter and shea butter is similar to coconut oil except it is harder and you definitely need to use a blow dryer to really reduce it to liquid. I plan on buying shea butter in bulk form and that will save me a lot of money. Your basically paying for the packaging and the popularity of the brand. It does instantly improve your skin. Works well on the driest cuticles and rough knees. But it’s too pricey

Great product!

This is so thick it's almost a salve. I don't need to use much, but it's great, my skin loves it. It would have been nice to have a light fragrance, but that's a non-issue. This container will last me a long time. Love L'Occitane!

Perfect for dry climates like Arizona

We live in Arizona which is a very dry desert climate and this is the ONLY product that restores and prevents dry skin. I apply it to my hands, cuticles and lips every night and wow does it make a huge difference! Highly recommend

Excellent product but way too costly

I used this product for years and loved it. It is quite wonderful. But now you can purchase very high quality shea butter (organic) for one third the cost of this. I still buy L'Occitane to carry in my purse. But I've come to prefer some of the less expensive brands of shea butter. They are easier to spread and you get a POUND of shea butter for maybe $16 - compared to 5.2 ounces of this. If money is not an issue for you, then this is the product for you. Shea butter is so wonderful for your skin and hair. I put it on my hair the night before I wash it - and it is softer than a baby's butt. You do have to let it soak in - takes about ten minutes. It works wonders on cuticles as well - you can stop getting hangnails if you massage it into your cuticles. It is a fabulous face cream - you can't buy anything better. I have extremely fussy skin and it seems I'm allergic to everything under the sun. Shea butter is perfect for me. I make face creams with shea butter as a base - but shea butter alone is just fine. Another great thing: You can put it on one night and it will protect your skin for a couple of days without reapplying. I'm elderly and should be a lot more wrinkled up than I am - and I give the credit to shea butter. Why buy products that "feature" shea butter - why not just use 100% shea butter?

Old product

I ordered this butter twice from Amazon. For the first time the consistency was fine but the smell was characteristic for the Amazon cardboard smell, as if the cream infused that smell (not nice). The second time the consistency of the product was bad, it has like weird granulated bits inside, it feels like it’s been sitting there on a shelf for maybe years and it’s still being sold. It works but the smell is not nice either. Next time I’m buying this from the L’occitane shop.

Brilliant stuff

This pure Shea butter is such a brilliant product. I use it as lip balm and for dry areas as spot treatment. But the best thing about this is you can add a little to any face cream, body lotion and it boosts the moisturising effect. Wouldn’t be without this little gem.

A pleasure to use!

I used this shea butter during my pregnancy, combined with mio care. I got no stretch marks (but then again this might be genetic because my mother and grandmother didn't either). Either way, the shea butter and a pleasure to use, purified (but in a safe way) and creamy.
