Great retrofit for my Weber Spirit
The side burner on my Weber Spirit was weak sauce, so I upgraded it with this. I also drilled out the orifice to 5/64" for use with natural gas. After a few hours of metal fabrication and gas line plumbing, now it rips!

Good budget burner
This burner puts out a wide variety of heat. We bought a Bayou regulator and hose to go along with it to hook it to our 20 lb propane tank. The hose comes with a needle valve which is indispensable for this unit. The valve allows you to control the gas more accurately than the tank. Sure, if you want it on full blast all the time or you have a deft hand with the propane tank valve, you might be able to get away without it, but I wouldn't recommend it. I bought this unit to convert an offset smoker to gas and it works great. Looking forward to our first good smoke with this as the heat source. 3/22/17 Update................ I have used this burner setup with the regulator hose twice to smoke BBQ and both times everything worked like a charm. The heat is nice and even without flare ups so long as it is kept out of the wind. In my smoker, I can get the gas to barely a trickle to keep the smoker low and slow. We even took it our church to upfit a 12' smoker trailer. This little burner on full blast from a normal propane tank would get the entire unit up to 275 degrees. I'm really happy with this purchase and have even bought another one since the last purchase.

Great home brew burner!
Bright blue flame! I replaced my old burner that was burning orange and making my pot black! Using a 10 PSI regulator it burned bright blue and boiled 6 gal of water with ease! I had to keep turning it down because it was boiling too hard. It does have a threaded hole in the bottom - with bolt - for bottom mount units. I used the bottom hole and it works great. No cast over holes, no thin spots or bad casting holes, just good workmanship. It came with an orifice but my regulator had one crimped on and it threaded in with no problems. The air regulation holes are the old type with 2 screws to loosen and turn to get the proper air flow. This is preferable for me because when you tighten the screws it does not move and no spring to rust off and break making it useless!

Usefullness
I bought this to replace the crummy burners that come with Chinese smokers. It was a bit larger than I needed but was the only one that looked like it would work. It has a really nice blue flame and cooks evenly. It maintains the blue flame as you lower the gas flow but I wish they would come out with a smaller one because I would buy it in a minute

Great replacement burner for my smoker
This appears to be a better designed burner than what came in my propane smoker. I was able to retrofit in the original pan and can tell it is burning better. Nice blue flame. I used a 0 - 5 psi adjustable regulator and it works great at low and high output. I would have given five stars but it does not come with an insect screen guard to keep spiders from crawling inside and blocking it up, and it did not come with the spring they mention. I'll have to hunt down these pieces elsewhere.

Retrofit to smoker.
This low pressure burner is perfect for a smoker. I retrofit it in a Landmann smoker. I had a propane/gas grill shop convert the opening to natural gas. If you don’t do this properly the volume and BTUs will be off. I bought the needle valve shown so I could adjust the flame. The temperature range is shown in the last two photos. NG gas conversion ez mode
Easily converted to NG. Produces a nice flame at 5/64 orifice. Cant go wrong with this for replacement or custom burner ideas.

Its OK but not recommended.
Used low pressure regulator with this burner and tried to adjust the airflow intake the flames are yellow can't get them blue for optimal temp. Swapped the gas tank to a new one and same results, poor quality, very smelly and dirty metal this product is made out of. It can work as small heater but the BTU is not what it should be, my regular gas stove does better job.

Produces a nice blue flame
I had an old propane burner that was only producing a yellow flame and soot build up on my outdoor cooking pot. I replaced the old burner with this one and I get a nice blue flame now which makes for much less cleanup and more efficient heat transfer. I have used this for two years now during maple season where I boil off 30-40 litres of water roughly every day over a two over week period when the season is on. I do not use it regularly at other times during the year but it should be good for homebrewing purposes also.

this is the best little cooker
this is the best little cooker, I have used other cookers but notting compare to this one , you get that light blue flame, and for the size the heat is pretty good, this is my second purchase, and strongly recommend this cooker , the only problem is don't leave out in the rain or let get wet it it rust. solution to the problem coat all over lightly with cooking oil, works for me.

Excellent burner! Bought this one to replace the crappy OEM burner that was in my Masterbuilt propane smoker. This burner goes as low or as high as I need it to be.
