Garden gem
This little bridge has been a star in my daughter’s garden. Everyone who has seen it, loves it. I bought this 2 years ago, and it has held up without any problems. It’s used daily by anyone walking in the yard. I used weather stain to protect it and no issues to date ( it needs a new coat!). Some buyers suggested using wood glue to reinforce joints. I’m buying another one for my garden area.

Very cute little garden bridge
Nice looking garden bridge. Hopefully the picture of the finished product attests to that :). The instructions are straightforward so I'm surprised by the reviews that found them confusing. The shipment I received was missing a few screws, but when I emailed the email address noted in the instructions, providing them with my proof of purchase, they promptly sent me a full set of screws at no charge :). I didn't use a power drill to screw in the screws, but did drill pilot holes to make turning the screws easier. Like some of the other reviews noted, I glued and used wood filler to seal the gaps where the 2 horizontal pieces of wood attach to the vertical rails. Otherwise, I can see water getting into the wood in those areas and causing wood rot. I had wood rot problems with my previous bridge. In addition to painting the posts, I also applied a couple of coats of a good quality polyurethane on top of all wood surfaces. Hopefully that will also minimize water damage. Only slight minus is that the horizontal pieces of wood in the rails are on the flimsy side. So you will need to keep this bridge away from heavy falling debris. I was able to stand on the bridge, but it doesn't feel as sturdy as my prior bridge. I may end up putting supporting braces underneath as another reviewer had done.

Decorative but not sturdy
I am very happy with my bridge, but buyers should not consider it a usable bridge. Cedar is a soft wood and not very strong. The bridge is shipped with the main structural supports in 2 pieces, which need to be bolted together in the middle, creating a weak point. I know my grandchildren will not be able using it ,so I used exterior glue and extra screws to beef it up a bit. The manufacture describes the bridge as "durable", "sturdy & stable", and "decorative". Cedar might be durable to weather, but this by no means a rugged bridge.

Shop Around!
After I ordered my bridge I found some better deals on it, but I'm still okay with what I paid. The five foot bridge was perfect for crossing my koi pond, but wider than I wanted, so I planned to cut the planks. Didn't consider that it was all pre-drilled, so it was a bit more work than I had expected. I cut five and a half inches off of each end of every board, then used one of the cut off pieces as a template to re-drill everything. I've read some other reviews saying that the bridge is creaky, but at the new width, this thing is solid as a rock. Stained the planks "Red Wood" and painted everything else to give it more of a Zen garden feel. I still have lots to do before my little Zen sanctuary is finished, but this little bridge is a great inspiration to get on with it.

Good value for money.
This is a pretty decent kit. Was missing 3 screws. But not a big deal. I invested a lot of time before building it by coating every piece of wood with two coats of clear waterproofing stain from a local big box home improvement store. This bridge for us is temporary until we can construct one out of welded steel and stone.

Stain it yourself you’ll get a better lasting finish
Went together well. I added a few pieces of 2x4s to the bottom as collar ties.since it does span a watering canal once a day, just to be on safe side. It wasn’t hard to do. Project was simple and took about an hour to put together. My son and I bought pier blocks for each end and 2 bags of concrete, so it didn’t just sit on dirt. we bought this for my son who is 6’4 and around 275. The bridge doesn’t flex at all for his wife or the kids, slightly for him which was totally expectable . I wouldn’t jump up and down on it if your an adult. But I would not worry about it breaking on you either. The span is exactly 6’. This was the largest one I could find. Stained it a dark color to help with weathering. I’m pleased with the outcome. If you are a DIY type it’s very very simple.

Small Decorative Bridge with Good Customer Service
This bridge is a little smaller than I'd like (especially the rails), but the price was much less than what I would have spent, had I built a bridge on my own. It is fairly sturdy to walk on. The package arrived slightly damaged on the ends, with all the screws and bolts missing. The wooden pieces were all there and undamaged. I called ShineCo customer service, and what do you know, I was able to speak with a live human. That's a plus. After sending them a copy of my receipt, they shipped the hardware kit to me the next business day. Thank you ShineCo customer service.

Great little decorative bridge!
Not tooo hard to assemble. I glued the main arch supports before bolting together just to add strength. Make sure you space out the planks before screwing them in.

Decent product for the price; easy to upgrade if needed.
Overall a decent product for the price. I had to make some modifications to suit my needs. As others have mentioned, you should use wood glue during assembly to avoid creaks and things loosening up over time. I also had to instal some of the slats upside down because of the way they were curved - not an issue as the wood is soft enough for the screws to countersink on the back side as well (or it would be easy to bore some pilot holes as needed). I mainly needed this mini-bridge for the winter fat biking trail I like to build in my yard. There is a swale / small creek through the back of the property that almost never freezes, and that’s where I tend to sink and make a mess. I often hit this spot at speed and it’s in a slight turn as well. Because of that, I could not have the railings installed as I would most likely crash through them. The way the bridge is designed, the railing providing some structural support to the deck by reinforcing the outer two spans. It also means that crashing through the railings would most likely destroy the bridge completely by ripping the outer spans that are made of two pieces bolted together. To reinforce all 3 support spans, I installed some leftover lumber on the underside in a letter H pattern as seen in my photos. The hardware was more than long enough to do that. With this reinforcement, and glue on all contact surfaces, the bridge is rock solid and I have no issues hitting it at speed on the fat bike and bouncing the back tire off it for hours on end. For my application, you would definitely need to reinforce this bridge, as it’s not meant to be used with no railings and/or to withstand the dynamic loads of a bicycle at speed. Overall I am happy with it; it serves its purpose with the minor upgrades I made. I intend to seal it when the weather gets warmer and hope to get many years of use out of it.

Easy build!
I’m quite satisfied with the final product. I was feeling a little skeptical about buying a wood backyard/garden bridge online, but it’s going to look great in my yard! It took myself 40 minutes to build, not bad for a lady!
