OK - you get what you pay for
If you think you found a great deal and these are as good as the $200-300 Adirondack chairs, think again. They are OK for the price I paid ($85 each, unstained). Quality is OK for the price, but I knocked it down to 3 stars for a few reasons: - in the US, when you think of cedar, you think of western red cedar. I have used it a lot - for a deck I built, reconstructed porch, etc. This does not seem to be cedar - very lightweight, softer than “normal” cedar, very light color. They are made in China, so maybe this is some sort of Asian cedar, but it’s not the cedar I think of and durability is suspect. - hardware claims to be weather resistant. To mean that means stainless or hot-dipped galvanized. The hardware is neither - but shiny yellow-colored, likely electogalvanized. Electrogalvanized is not rated for outdoor use. You may be OK if sheltered under a porch or you live in the arid southwest, but it definitely won’t hold up in coastal environments and I don’t think it’ll survive more than 2-3 years outdoors in Ohio. - exposed hardware. For the price, I’m OK with that, but the bolts were way too long and made the chairs look extra cheap (see pics). I cut off the excess with an angle grinder, so it looks better. But I shouldn’t have to do that… Pros: if you like a natural finish and you want to stain yourself, they do look good. Comfortable as well. To summarize, durability is questionable unless you plan to use them in a sheltered location or have an appropriate climate.

Easy to assemble, comfortable, should last through a few winters if left out of doors
Easy to assemble and the price was right! I was not planning to assemble the two I purchased as its still winter in Minnesota and I can't put them outside. Unfortunately one of the two came in a mangled box. Happily nothing was missing or damaged. And it smelled like cedar, so I was pleased. All wooden parts were sanded smooth. Assembled in 25 minutes as advertised, though the instructions were not entirely clear as to which screws went where, the next one will take 15 minutes now that I have the knack. (An electric screw driver would be a handy item.) The chair is comfortable, easy to move around as it's only about 20 pounds, attractive and symmetrical sitting evenly on my kitchen floor where I put it together. I would love not to stain or lacquer it, but cedar will turn an ugly gray sooner or later when left out through the winter. And its real wood, not factory made wood or plastic. I hope it was from a sustainable forest source, but owing to its country of production, who knows?

A great pair of chairs!
I bought two of these. I am so tired of plastic or resin chairs that look like plastic. These are real wood, pine, and ready to paint whatever color my little heart desires. Okay, red and a blue one. The first i painted after assembly. The second chair i painted the pieces before assembly. Second is going much better; less drips and dribbles. Assembly was relatively easy, but seemed like the little tags just messed with my dyslexic mind. I worked on it with the pictures and did okay. Got things tight and really seems like a well build piece of furniture. All screws, no nails or staples! All one by lumber, nicely sanded and ready for finishing. Just waiting for all the paint to dry. Summer is gonna be nice!

Comfy, and good for price. Doesn't feel super sturdy.
The chairs are great for the price. The wood used is not the strongest material, but for the price it is appropriate. It creaks and makes some noises when I sit in it (I am not a huge person - 5ft 9inch and 175 lbs)

Pretty happy with my purchase.
I ordered two. One was perfect basically. the second had some broken screws which I was able to easily replace. I had some on hand... Looked like bad screws rather than bad workmanship. I'd say I am happy and the price was really good. I would recommend these.

Best Adirondack on the Market!
Easy & quick assembly. Quality materials. Just as good, if not better, than the $200-300 one's out there. Stop your search now! You've found the chair you're looking for, right here!

Very nice chairs, very nice price, easy to assemble
After reading some of the reviews, all I can figure is that some people have 10 thumbs. These chairs were so easy to put together I couldn't believe it was the same chair I'd seen reviewed. No, they're not made of mahogany or teak or oak--it's a soft cedar-type wood and it's not going to take a beating, but for the price they're extremely nice. I bought two of them and the left hand arm support on both of them had a chunk gouged out of the center--I'm thinking a machine problem--which was easily fixed with an orbital sander (much easier than fooling with getting a replacement). That was the only problem I saw in them. In fact, I'm buying two more today before the price goes up or they quit making them. After a little weathering, these are going to get some primer and a few coats of a good outdoor enamel and they should do very well for normal sized people. What I intend to do is use the pattern to make a copy of one of these out of pressure-treated pine--but a little bit wider for me!!

Good value
Price was right, arrived on time, assembled easily, built well and is comfortable. What else do you really need?

I`d buy them again.
Arrived on time. Seat and back already assembled, clear simple instructions, pieces marked well, so an easy assembly with nothing more than Phillips screwdriver. Decided to leave mine untreated because I love the colour of the bare wood, and because through a little research, I found the experts about evenly split on the need to treat cedar. Very comfortable with our chair pads and they seem to be weathering well. But if you`re six feet or taller, I think you`ll find them a bit low.

Be ready for some paint/ stain and sanding work.
Be ready to paint it to prolong its condition. Otherwise, it is just like any other of the same kind, nothing special about it as long as you have a cushion.
