Great for Beginners

I'm learning to do cables, and the gold j-hook style one is great to hold my stitches and knot make me nervous that they're going to fall off.

Great cable needles.

Only on spot on one of the needles that’s slightly rough. It’s on the side that I hold so it actually works for me. Package was opened on one side but nothing was lost. It just wasn’t sealed well.

Only big curved is useful

I didn't have a cable needle and ordered this variety pack. Lucky my project was on size 5 so the big curve was perfect. I really didn't need to purchase these as I had nice stitch holders that would do the job.

Abysmal quality, unusable.

This three piece set was terrible quality, had blunt points and peeling paint which snagged the yarn. Of the six points on these three cable needles, only one was passable. In the photo you can see how blunt they are, and the one at the top had a burr on it. I could file that off and try to re-shape these, but then why am I paying eight bucks for this set of three? It was so disappointing that I looked for other options on Amazon and found a set of 9 from several sellers (which includes these three needles plus six more) for LESS than the cost of this set. I reviewed that set (you can find my review) and gave it 5 stars, perfect quality. Don't buy this one until Boye starts doing some quality control, it's very sad what's become of a formerly great name in yarn tools. Knitting cables is already challenging enough, you don't need your tools to make it worse! A good cable needle will help you, and these are not it. Look for those sets of 9. I'm returning this Boye set.

Love this shape.

Exactly what I wanted. I have been using wooden cable needles and was intrigued by the hook shape of 2 of these. They are now my new favorites. They don't fall out like other cable needles can.

I like the U shaped one.

I really like the U shaped one, so I bent the tinier one into a U shape too. I feel more secure that way, like my stitches won't slide off the needle. The third one is there if I need it, but I'm mainly using the gold colored larger U one.

good kit to start

i started a sampler blankie of cables and when started thought i could do it without cable needles and you can but using the cable needle cuts the time in half and the stress by 90% love them
