Great bit
Have had good luck with bosch bits in the past. Bought this to drill some pilot holes through 1/8" steel plate. Did the job with no fuss.

Cobalt bit for metal use.
I broke my previous cobalt drill bit due to being reckless. I didn't want to buy a full set to replace just this one bit (that I use a lot more than any other size). This bit arrived in an expected shrink-wrapped package and for the amount of limited use thus far it is performing as expected and for the price, I recommend to others.

sooo much better
I was recently working on a project that required drilling a 1/4 inch hole through hard steel about 1/4 inch thick. I went through 6 drill bits that were just around in my shop...nothing special. They are now in the recycle bin. I did sort of dent the steel. Next I got DeWalt zirconium drill bits with the starting point. The starting point went in well and that was it. At least I now had more than a dent but still no holes. Project stalled. Next I ordered Bosch cobalt drill bits from Amazon. I got 3 different sizes even though I just needed the 1/4 inch bits. WOW! What a difference. I did have to reduce the speed on my drill press and frequently oiled the drilling hole. It was not like drilling butter but the holes went well. Since then I needed to drill 2 new and larger holes (3/8") in a little bit softer 3/16 inch thick steel. I had to use an adjustable electric hand drill. Back to the 1/4" Dewalt cobalt drill bits. Drilling went well but I discovered that I needed a bit more than the lowest functional drill speed but not too fast. Still used frequent oiling. I used the Dewalt zirconium drill bit to enlarged the starter 1/4" hole to the needed 3/8" hole. That went wel too. I am happy. If only I had the cobalt drill bits at the beginning of these projects. I am ordering more Bosch cobalt drill bits in other sizes and plan on keeping them separate from my other bits. Pretty much all drill bits look alike to me.

Worked like a charm....
Though I only used it once so far - drilled the hole size I needed in a 2" galvanized steel pipe for my shade sails. Granted, I overdid the pole size - but this worked just right l, doing the job I needed it to do. Considering I used it only 1x so far, gave1 less starmonly bc I have no clue as to how it will hold up over time or the next time I need it (as some people have been able to effectively use some of these bits only once). I did use some silicone to lubricate to avoid overheating/ drill thru quicker- which also worked just fine.

Drilled1/8" 316 stainless angle with ease.
Drilled 8 holes on a drill press set at 620 rpm with cutting oil and 1/8" pilot hole. With appropriate pressure the bit smoothly and quickly cut through 316 stainless steel producing long, curly "chips" and little heat. The bit remained sharp after the job. Very happy with performance and value so far. Comparable with the Irwin cobalt bits I've used in the past.

Very good value
Good quality for the money. I used it to drill 24 holes in 1/4” A36 steel today and it is holding up fine (no sign of dulling). This was done with a drill press and cutting lubricant. Note this is an M35 and not an M42 cobalt alloy. But it’s also much less expensive than a M42 but and also less brittle.

Bought for a one time use.
I needed to drill through some thick (1/2 inch) steel. I was told to use a drill made from cobolt metal. I purchased this one and it worked great. I needed 3 holes and it cut right through each hole in less than a minute using a corded hand drill.

Great drill bit
I googled what type of drill bit to cut into very hard steel and the answer was Cobalt. This drill bit performed great. I bought two and only had to use one. I was cutting into two pipes that are used in oil drilling. Really hard steel. It took about 15 minutes but I was successful. Hard job but great drill and very good price.

Drill bit is a beast!
This drill bit is a beast! Used it to drill a hole recently through an insulated steel sink that we had purchased and it worked fantastic. The hole we initially drilled was not big enough, so I used the edges of this drill bit to make the hole wider; it went through a lot of rigor and abuse to do that and after I was done, I cleaned off the metal shavings from it and it still looked like new! Fantastic quality and you get what you pay for as it is more pricey but works well.

Super fast in 1/4" I-beam!
Needed this to drill 1/4" holes in an I-beam in the basement. After trying for an eternity with a HSS bit, I bought one of these bits. What a difference! Drilled the hole in about 45 seconds. The flange of the I-beam was 1/4" thick.

Expensive
There are better, bulk options that are more affordable. I bought a 10 pack and they drill through iron and steel very well. These don't perform any better, though they are wayy more expensive.

seems like a quality drill bit
Better than most other bits I've tried, I've worn out a few 1/4" drill bits. I won't be using it daily so I can imagine it will last me 10-20 years no problem as it seems better made than other bits I've used.

Nice Drill Bit
Should work fine. I may not use it for a while as it is for specialty purposes like drilling stainless.
