German quality will many uses.
Hergestellt in Deutschland. It is not made in China, it is the second one I bought for a newer Bosch drill. The other one I bought some 10 years back and it is still as good as new. I have had some Bosch made in China all those lasted less than 30 minutes before dangerously sending pieces and parts in every direction. Rest assure this is not one of those. And hence a little pricier to avoid a potentially serious accident. Which is really making worth every extra dollar besides you can continue the task at hand without interruption.

Know your SDS type
Greatly improves the functionality of my sds rotary hammer ( I have a DeWalt and Bauer SDS drill ). The head is protected with a hard rubber stopper. This helps hold the bit during tightening and prevent dirt from getting into the mechanism. It does however make it slightly more difficult for larger bits like 5/8 shank to fit. Would like to see the tightening gear key come with a hole in handle, some way to attach it to a key ring. Fast delivery. May update review after field testing. Make sure to grease the SDS before use. This adapter will not fit SDS-MAX or regular SDS. Only for SDS-PLUS.

Highly recommended
I bought this at Amazon after trying to source one locally. No one had any stock and the delivery time was quoted at 2-3 weeks. I got this delivered in two days for $35 less than what local stores quoted. I just got it and have only had a chance to try it out briefly, but it seems like a well built, sturdy, high quality unit. It comes in a compact plastic storage box which fits nicely in the case of my hammer drill. The chuck has a ratcheting action - you can hear it click as it's tightened, and it seems to have a really solid grip on the bit. To remove a bit you need to pull the lower sleeve towards the drill. This releases the clutch and then you can use the key to open the chuck. The chuck can accommodate a drill bit with up to a 1/2" shank. There's a rubber cover meant to keep concrete dust out of the chuck. If this gets in your way when you're using larger diameter bits the cover has a hole on the side that you can put the end of the chuck key in to pry it off. It goes on and off fairly easy. If you have an SDS Plus hammer drill you pretty much need to get one of these to get full use of your drill, as it'll let you use the odd collection of bits that one acquires, such as those that come with tapcon screws, as well as allowing you to use the drill for heavier duty wood and steel drilling tasks.

A must have tool for SDS-plus drill
Very solid and easy to use. Allowed me to use a large 1" traditional drill bit to drill holes in a few tree stumps I'm trying to get rid of. My standard cordless drill did not have the power I needed and I did not want to buy a new corded standard drill. If you have a similar need, don't hesitate. This adapter will work for you. It does add a few inches to the end of your drill, so if space constraints are a consideration, you may have to use a regular drill.

Nice addition to my Bosch RH328 drill
Bought the RH328 for a general use 1/2 drill, I don’t always need to drill cement or bricks but I like to have the option if needed. This is why I bought this drill chuck, I can use the drill to power larger wood bits. I have destroyed a few drill while drilling 1 1/2 hole through 2 inch oak. This drill chuck let’s me use a larger heavy duty Drill for that type of work. This drill chuck is well made and is as smooth as silk. Would be nice to get a single page instruction sheet, use the key handle to pry off the rubber boot, how to disengage the plastic ring clutch type mechanism ect. Overall once you figure out the details this is a nice drill chuck that adds versatility to a great drill.

it's a ratchet lock!
SDS-plus drill bits are pretty pricy and I have a load of conventional bits already. So while I had my misgivings about this working well, with Bosch label at least I did not worry about damaging my power drill. Well, it works just perfect. The chuck has a ratchet lock and had no problem taking on anything I've thrown on it so far. I think Bosch missed on some profits here because this great adapter saved me a lot spare change on buying SDS-plus drills.

Entgegen einiger Rezensionen muss ich mitteilen, dass anscheinend viele kein Gefühl oder Verständnis für "Technik" haben. Der Winkelbohrkopf passt einwandfrei, wenn man die Gummimanschette der SDS-Aufnahme an der Bohrmaschine entnimmt, damit der Winkelbohrkopf auch entsprechend weit genug aufgesetzt werden kann. Man(n), das ist doch sooo simpel !!!!!!!!! (Siehe die zwei Bilder im Anhang)

High quality unit. Bought this after I failed in my research to discover the Bosch drill requires special end "fiitting" on the drill bits (SDS). This unit allows you to use "normal" straight shank drill bits. The keyed chuck I preferred over the keyless chuck due to the ability to increase the torque to grip the drill bit shaft. Seems good quality, heavy duty and slots into the Bosch head easily.
