Adorable jars, but replacement caps expensive.
PROS: These little canning jars are adorable and display your canned goods to advantage. I used them to can a jelly that includes tiny bits of red and green peppers suspended in a clear, hot-pepper jelly. I planned to give half the resulting jars to friends for gifts, and keep the remainder to serve to company. With their thinner, clearer glass sides and more elegant shape, the little jars were an instant ooh-ahh hit with my friends and fellow canning aficionados. I also think that the higher-quality bottling helped convince the receivers of the gifts that the jelly was tastier and more special. Each jar holds approximately 3/4" cup of liquid (allowing for a 1/4" gap at the top of the bottle), which is just about the perfect size for gift giving. CONS: The jars are made in Italy and use one solid, 56mm-sized cap (not a ring and lid), which aren't generally available for replacement at a reasonable price. The bottles won't accept any standard USA-made bottle caps. After googling, I found two places that sell replacement lids for $2.25 for three lids, which translates to $9.00 + a generous shipping cost of $17 for a set of twelve caps. If you're planning to give all your bottles away, this isn't a show stopper. If, like me, you expect to re-use some or all of the bottles, then you just need to factor the lid-replacement costs and availability into your bottling budget. I decided, instead, to switch to the one-cup Leifheit decorative canning jars and replacement lids (both available on Amazon), which when I factored in the costs of bottles, lids, and shipping turned out to be a few cents less expensive than the Quattro Stagioni. They're also equally attractive for gift giving. RATING: I removed one star due to the cost and variable availability of replacement lids. UPDATE (2/12/2012): Amazon is currently carrying the replacement lids at a reasonable price. Since I don't know if this will continue to be the case, I'm leaving my rating as is. I would recommend that you buy the replacement lids at the same time you buy the jars.

Love these for spices
I love, love, love these little jars for spices. I bought about 36 of them, added a label to the lid, and store in the cupboard or drawers with spices. They are wide enough for a tablespoon to fit inside them and are much more attractive than an unorganized mess of spices all over the house. Now, I buy spices in containers or bulk and add them to these, and I can easily find spices I need for various recipes. I've been using these for about a year now and love this new system. The only downside is that I don't think these are airtight, so a few spices that I rarely use sometimes get all hard and I need to use a spoon to mix them up again. I had this same problem with the store spice containers, so this is no worse. Plus, I go through a lot more spices now that I have these, so keeping spices fresh is not a problem for me. By the way, you can get these at the Container Store if you need to supplement just a few jars, but buying them by the dozen on Amazon is a much better deal. The first time I ordered these, one of the jars came broken. I contacted Amazon and they refunded my entire order and let me keep the other 11 jars for free. Great customer service, which is why I love Prime. Finally, you can also get larger sizes of these jars for those spices you use more frequently. For the most part, the 5 ounce jars are perfect for most spices.

Perfect for Spices!
These are perfect for spices or a small amount of anything...like nuts or stuff. The silicone ring in the lid is essential if you want your storage items protected from air. Highly recommend. Bought lots because I love them.

I use wider-mouthed jars for spices that I like to level off over the jar
These jars are big enough to hold the spices from McCormick's glass bottle and have room left over to fit a measuring spoon into the jar and shake the extra spice out of the spoon before removing it from the jar. I use wider-mouthed jars for spices that I like to level off over the jar, but these are my favorites for things like basil, where I just put in a rough teaspoon or whatever instead of measuring carefully (They're so cute and convenient that I may switch all my jars to these, though). Pros: The size and shape make them easy to hold. They're cute. The lids are one-piece, so they don't come apart, stick, or fall in the floor when I open the jar. The lids twist on and off easily without binding or making screechy noises. They're cute! Update: The more I use these, the more I appreciate everything about them. My Amici Orto jars are pretty, but I noticed that my spice cabinet started smelling like whatever spices were stored in them. Maybe they would have sealed better if I had twisted the lids tightly, but I don't want to struggle with my spice jars. The Quattro jars seal perfectly with an easy twist, and they're also easy to remove. Cons: None

This jar is very good quality and looks nice (better than the old standby - Ball or Kerr jars). I used them for canning apple butter and apple sauce for gifting. The 5 oz jar lid is quite small and messy when spooning in food. The normal size canning funnel is too large for this size jar. I was unable to find a smaller funnel that was large enough to spoon thick hot fruit - the funnels were either too big or too small, or the plastic could not withstand hot pack method. In addition, the replacement lid is quite pricey and does not come in packs of 12, like the case of jars. I only found them in packs of 3 (costing more that a 12 pack of Ball rings & lid combo). While I like these jars allot, unfortunately, I will probably not use them again because of the lid size and cost. Water bath canning with the 1-piece lid is a bit different from the tradition American methods using the 2 piece lid. This method requires that the jar remains submerged in the water-bath after the water has boiled for the recommended time until it has cooled. The jars seal while submerged. This adds considerable time to the water-bath canning process. Therefore, I recommend using 2 water-bath canners with single piece lid processing.

Very cute!
I wanted to organize my spices and these little jars work perfectly! The jars are made in Italy which I find very neat. They arrived safe and sound with no cracks or chips!

Arrived on time, well packed and looks beautiful
This item arrived on time and wrapped with so much bubble paper that it would be impossible to break the glass inside. The jars are on my kitchen shelf making everything inside then look pretty. I hate plastic jars because of the door and discolouration and so I wanted o put all my spices in these jars. One small disadvantage is that unlike the Kilner or Leifheit Preserve jars, there are no replacement caps available at the moment for this brand.

Bonitos pero pésimo empaque
Están chiquitos pero muy lindos, lo malo es que no vienen en caja los empacaron en una bolsa de bolitas infladas todos juntos y obvio uno llego roto, suerte que solo fue uno.
