Needs better design
I agree with so many of the negative reviews. The vac would be awesome if b&d fixed some stuff. I bought this vac because I am a breast cancer patient and after surgery/chemo/radiation and with my current treatment, I am tired and VERY deconditioned. Therefore, I needed something light and easy to use. Not to mention... isn't it adorable?!!.....well not so much now.... Suction would be adequate if the hole in the bottom of the head wasn't tiny..... like sucking peas up thru a straw. Why even have a wide head if it's not functional? You vacuum one leaf and it stops it up worse than a drain at the hair salon. Not to mention the plastic flap thing inside the canister that is not removable traps dirt and crap.... Took me 30 minutes to clean that with a tiny brush just for it to fill back up before the 1st full swipe across the floor. But that I could tolerate. What's worse? The floor head (with the tiny hole) is so hard to remove that you have to stand on it to get it off. Then what happens you ask? Your clean floor has a pile of dirt that now needs to be vacuumed up again. Or swept (isn't that what I'm trying to avoid?) After pulling the head off like that so many times, the swivel loosens and the head flops around like a dying chicken. Every.time.you.pick.the.damn.thing.up. So then you're fighting the dying chicken vacuum head just to get it to stand up straight on the floor like a child slumped over the dinner table at a classy restaurant. & the vac does not succumb to the slap in the back we got when gma saw us slumpin....and if that isn't how you are supposed to remove the head, why isn't there directions? (Because yes, I am somewhat of a rule follower and I did look for directions).... also, being somewhat OCDish... it is wonderful that I can take the thing apart and wash the canister and filter (good idea b&d....in theory) but what am I to do while the filter is drying and I want to vacuum?.... well, the never-fail-me amazon does not have replacements. Where are the replacement filters?! Even in South Alabama, those things don't try as quickly as you'd think! Buttttttt I've still been vacuuming my lil clean floor loving ❤️ out.... until the chicken head broke off the neck... well put it back on, you say? That'd be ideal....if I could find it. You see, these sweet babies of mine... you know the whole reason I need to vacuum every.single.day..... sweet, precious kitten baby, Winston... apparently found the little chicken neck before I did and made it into his own personal hockey puck. So now..... I am forced to sweep and thoroughly research a new vacuum so that I never.have.to.do.this.again while Winston plays his own version of hockey hide and go seek with the chicken neck I so DESPERATELY need to maintain somewhat of a clean house before I have to start selling fur jackets from Winston's brother's fur.... enter, Wyatt, the toy aussie. Sincerely, dying in dog hair.

works great on hardwood
Worked very well on hardwood or vinyl floors. Doesn't work very well at all on carpet. Even low pile carpet is a chore. The debris tank is very small and really a pain to get off and on. Very long cord but you need to be careful as the cord comes out the top and I feel like it will over time start to break there.

Meets my needs
I purchased this because I got rid of the carpet in my house & have a dog that sheds a lot. I wanted something easy to pull out and quickly use. It fits the bill. Here are my +/-s: Pros: - lightweight - easy to use - washable filter - doesn’t scratch my wood floors - easy place to wind cord back around - head swivels - no bags necessary Cons: - much of the vacuumed fur & sand sticks to the filter, so I have to be very careful when I pull the canister off to not just avoid dumping the canister, but also to have the filter (which is attached to the stick-vac side) over the garbage so it doesn’t drop stuff all over - cord is too short to make it across my whole living room - dust collects in the channel where the canister snaps back onto the stick vac, so I have to use my fingernail to clear the channel out enough that the canister snaps back on - not super strong suction (gets dog fur up fine off the wood floor though) - head sometimes falls off when swivels a certain way (this is rare but I’ve had to reach under my couch a couple times to get it) - filter needs to be washed every or every-other use For the price, it’s worth the drawbacks. I’m satisfied with this vacuum overall. Hopefully they receive feedback like this an make improvements to future models.

Small but weak
I like that it’s not too big so it saves space, but the suction power is weak for me.

Definitely good deal for the price
I've been trying for awhile to find a small vacuum cleaner for small jobs when I don't want to get out the big vacuum cleaner. The handheld ones that I've tried are just not helpful--no suction. I don't use something like this often and didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars. This one is very inexpensive and I figured if it didn't work well, I wouldn't be out a lot of money. I have found this works well for floors. I have a small kitchen and bathroom and entry way and I can use this vacuum cleaner effectively for those. Less useful on carpet. It just sticks on the carpet and won't move. I would like to use it for some throw rugs and I'm still experimenting with that. I've found that if I move it out and pull it towards me it works better than trying to push it. Be very careful in emptying. The container doesn't come out easily and I have dumped all the contents on the floor, meaning I had to get out the large vacuum cleaner and vacuum it up again. Next time, I'm going to try it over the dumpster. This vacuum cleaner is very lightweight and therefore easy to use for small jobs.

Mixed feelings
The suction was good, but emptying had an extra step I didn't need. The idea sounds good but in my kitchen the matts in front of the sink were too much for the magnetic wet pads on the back. They would pop off. I think it would be a good idea for wood floors with no obstacles. Also this was in no way quiet, I found myself hesitating to use it at the end of the day due to that. Back to broom and wet jet ????

Great suction.
It's nice that it has a washable filter, but it does say that it should be replaced every 6 to 9 months. This is why I gave it a four star........I cannot find a replacement filter. I checked everywhere online, but haven't found any. Very disappointing, as this is a great brand, and I had the cordless one before this one. Needed one that lasted longer while vacuuming.
