AMAZING PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, I dearly LOVE Frankford Arsenal and always have. Great products....very innovative....and they ahve the best customer service out there.. Second, I use this tumbler A LOT!!!!!! I have a company that buys and sells brass. i stock well over 300 different calibers and I have two of these tumblers running almost every day. I mostly do my polishing a couple of evenings during the week but they will often go around the clock Friday through Sunday. I have used 3 other tumblers over the years. But about 12 years ago I found this one. Shortly after that i bought a second one. Well, my testimony is simple. This purchase was to replace one of those two after the motor FINALLY died!! But it took 12 years!! And I would say that the one tumbler probably processed close to 1.5 milllion cases of brass. And that is me running that for a complete 3 hours time span each time. This thing is TOUGH! The one I had before this, was well known, and cost twice the money. But in the 9-10 months I owned that, I had to have the manufacture replace about 4 different parts....about 3 times.!! That's right, inside of a year all those parts were replaced CONSTANTLY. And when that thing went down...I was screwed until the parts arrived. They finally agreed to give me my money back and I returned it. GET ONE OF THESE!! If you don't use it like I do commercially, it will last you for 30 years! I will attach a few photos from a test I did on some very nasty brass. I took two of the worst ones I got from a customer and I polished one and kept one in the original condition to show the before and after photos. Most of these did take several runs in the tumbler, but the point of all of this was to show that no matter how nasty and disgusting the brass is.......it WILL get cleaned up and look like new again.

Super clean shiny brass
I don't write reviews this soon after getting a product but for this one I will make an exception. I've read lots of reviews and also watched you tube videos where the common thread is that this is more hassle for the end result. Well yes to a degree it is but it depends how you process the brass. The only real drawback for me is that it's a lot heavier but of course it is, it's a lot bigger than what I've been using. I've run 3 large loads through and have found there's an optimal load size to get really shiny casings as opposed to very clean but more of a golden color. For me when processing 9mm cases, I found that loading 25 handfuls of brass was the best load size: that's a little over 1/2 full drum including the steel pins. Then I add water up to just below the neck, I use warm rather than hot. After that I add dish soap (I prefer Dawn); about 3 table spoons (gentle squeeze and a 5 count if you don't want to measure). After this it's a teaspoon of lemi-shine grains and on goes the top. Dry the threads of the lock screws first or you will get some leakage when you tip it. Make sure they are tight. Process for the full 3 hrs. Once it's all done I open one end and remove the clear cover replacing it with the slotted seive. I also used the seive as a template and cut 4 circles of screen door bug netting that I put over the top of the open end once I insert the seive, then screw on the cap that holds it in place. This will allow you to drain the dirty water without losing any of the steel pins. It will also allow you to re-fill with clean water to sloosh around and drain again which gets rid of the excess dirty water and soap residue. Then I remove the screen, screw it tight again and tip it all into a mop bucket. I use a mop bucket with a pouring spout so I dont need to use a magnet to pick up the media. The pins will have very little water in with them and that will be clean so all you do is tip up the mop bucket and allow the pins to slide back into the drum, scraping the ones on the bottom with your hand, but before you do that you need to remove the brass!! I use a salad spinner (big one) and hand load a bit of brass into it and shake it around so any pins still with the brass fall to the bottom of the container. Then put those on a towel and continue a bit at a time until I'm done. There wont be a lot of pins in with the brass if you gave the drum a good shake when you were tipping out the pins into the mop bucket. When the brass is dry it's got a really bright shine and the primer pockets are clean. You don't need to spend $17 on Frankford's brass cleaner, although the sample that came with the tumbler did do a good job. You also don't need to spend $16 to buy a magnet to pick up the steel pin media if you use a mop bucket that has a pour spout (not an actual spout, just that "V" shape molded on the top). Which means you also dont need to buy a separator either. See, all that money saved; the tumbler has just about paid for itself. :) The only con to all of this is that I'm disappointed the screw on ends for the drum are out of true. They're not quite round so create a bit of a gap between the threads. That's why you have to make sure you screw them on tight to get a good seal on the clear end caps. I'm hoping this wont become a problem as I use it more but for now I can live with it. It's also noisy when running so you may want to run it in the garage and if you're going to put it on a table make sure it doesn't walk with the vibrations it makes when it's running. This is a great cleaner and even if you only process a moderate amount of brass it will get the job done way faster than using the little Harbor Freight rock tumbler which is what I've been using prior to buying the Frankford Arsenal tumbler.

Well built and works great
I have only had this one for a couple weeks but I wanted to write a review based on my experience so far. I am converting over from a dry tumbler that uses corn cob. Here are some initial impressions: - This thing holds a lot of brass. Instead of putting in a double handful of 9mm I'm pouring brass into this thing and getting a pile of brass out. - Even cleaning brass with spent primers in and not using pins, it still gets the brass really clean. (didn't want to put dirty brass in my size and decap die, since bought universal decapper) - Factory cleaner works great, Dawn and lemi shine works just as good and cheaper - Don't use too much dawn or you'll be rinsing for a while - 2hrs seems to do the trick. Corn cob took a lot longer to get that clean. - Cases come out wet and you have to wait for them to dry. Old towel and a box fan seems to work fine and cost nothing. I just left it over night. - It's louder than my old, slow, tumbler and it rotates faster. I leave in on the cement floor in the basement shop in the evening. Just let it run while you're upstairs eating or watching a movie and you don't notice it.

Not for me
I purchased the full-size Frankfort version and I'm returning it. I found it to be a 2-3 day process by the time I tumble twice, dry, resize, etc. It's not that it doesn't work well, but I'm shoot hunting reloads and I'm never making any more than 50 at a time. I just didn't find the wet tumbler to be super beneficial for my application. It would be great if I were doing large batches in the hundreds of rounds. This process is cumbersome and messy. I will stick to dry tumbling, I've had amazing results for the 10 years I have been reloading.

You will never use your vibratory tumbler again!!
If you have been getting by with a vibratory tumbler using a corn cob tumbling media, throw it away and get a rotary wet tumbler. I did! In particular, get the Frankford Platinum model. PROS: - Large Capacity: You can process about 11 pounds of brass (around 1,300 9mm). - Efficient brass separation: With the removable end caps and strainer filters you can pour off the dirty water and retain clean brass. - Solid Construction: This thing appears to be built to last. - Effectiveness: Believe me this thing really gets the brass clean! Clean brass, notably inside and the primer pocket in particular, is essential to avoiding misfires. If you deprime and resize before cleaning, you will end up with factory clean brass. - Reusable Stainless Steel Pins: You will never need to buy more tumbling media, unlike with a vibratory tumbler which needs new, often hard to find, corn cob or walnut husk after every other use. CONS: - Pin Separation: If you use the stainless steel pins, separating the pins can be a bit of a nuisance; however, if you use a magnet (readily available for $10) the task is not that bad and the finished product is worth it! - Price: These units are normally a bit pricy, but I paid just $198 (taxes, duties and shipping included). If you are patient, you can probably get a similar bargain.

Wish I had got one of these years ago!
I have only used it twice so far but was quite surprised at how easy it was to use. Does a great job with just a little dish soap. About as loud as my tumbler but doesn't vibrate the whole house, not as messy as the corn cob removal with the corn cob spilling all over no matter how carefulI I was.Steel pins stay in the drum when rinsing as long as I am carefull. Would recommend this to anyone. Love the timer switch just "set it and forget it" Rodney

must have!
I got them less than 200, now the price is over 300, since they got the smaller one, even that is over 200. if you shoot large caliber, among small ones. this is easy to use. I mix 30-40 338s with 50-70 223,it has no problem. turn them on for 30 min, came out shiny like new.

Excellent value
2000 rounds remarkably clean, and without a hitch. Although the barrel is plastic, even loaded to the brim there was no issue. Steel medium tumbling is night and day above corn/nut medium, even gets the primer pockets! Very happy.

Cleans Brass like New
This thing is amazing. Cleans brass inside and out like new. Handles a lot of brass at once, I did 2000 9mm casings at once and 1000 .45 at once. With the timer you can set it and walk away! Love it. don't know what I'll use the vibratory tumbler for now.
