rods are thin and fragile at threads

These are best for .22 or under "?" cal, bend n wobble going thru my .06...don't ike it

Now made in China - rough threads, but works

It works. Outers used to be made right in Wisconsin, now the name was sold off and they make these in china. Which equates to lower standards, and threads you have to clean up after opening the package ... and if you don't, the threads will get damaged over time. I used to work Weaver dept where we made the rods on a hydromat and took great care with cleaning the machined parts....maybe I'm not unbiased? :)

Works

Long enough for a 26" barrel. Real brass. Actual 8-32 threads on the rod sections! Swivel handle! Is interchangeable with my other two handles and five rods! The only down side is the cheap plastic loop and jag that comes with rod. I dumped them in the trash without a second thought Highly recommended. I would have given it five stars if the case wasn't a blister pack.

surprisingly good quality for the price.

I bought this to attach to my pack frame for big game hunts. I tend to hunt very rugged terrain during the late season, and falls on the mountainside in the snow are rather common. Having the ability to clear any obstructions from my barrel is extremely important. This rod is brass, which won't damage the rifle bore when used properly. Also each night I run a lightly oiled patch down the bore, then a couple of dry patches, to make sure my rifle is G2G for the next days hunt in austere conditions. This rod is a great addition to my pack, and the price was surprising for the nice quality of the product. If taken care of properly, this is a rod that should last a lifetime of use for a shooter.

One rod broke in the Outers Rifle Cleaning Kit I had so I purchased this to replace the broken piece. It works fine but the length is a bit longer therefore it doesn't fit nicely in the kit I have. Otherwise, it works fine.

Excellent Purchase

This set is a great addition to your gun collection. It isn’t a replacement for a Tipton rod, but its surprisingly good quality for the price. You can’t beat it!

This is not a .30 caliber rod

Despite what description says this rod is a .22-.270 rod, it measures .205 same as universal cleaning kit. Also the sections do not stay tight, it would require several tightenings in the cleaning process to clean or oil your firearm. Bear in mind this rod and all accessories are made in CHINA, Outers has gone in the wrong direction regarding quality and quality control.
