These work really great at starting fires, even if the wood is a little damp. I guess my only complaint is that they make it sound like you get a lot more than you do. you cant actually break these apart on the score marks, its too hard, and they are pretty small so you end up using the whole square per fire. so you basically get 2 fires per box.

Works as advertised. Started a fire in 35+ mph wind with the help of two sticks.

Poor Quality

I was looking for some simple firestarter stick and came across these at Amazon. I use them to start lump charcoal fires on a Big Green Egg. I am speaking from a bit of limited experience; bought two packages and have used them 4 times. By actual count, of the 8 sticks I've used, 5 have gone out before they lit the charcoal requiring they be re-lit once or even twice more. Compared to other products I've used, it seems as if they are rather dry, perhaps not containing enough of the flammable material. I've used two other types, both with superior results. I would not buy again.

worst product ever purchased from Amazon...

yikes....didn't start fires well, were *very* hard to separate, had to stab at them with forks....the Coghlan ones I bought at Dick's were far better than these. For that matter, so were the extra rolls of toilet paper we ended up using instead.

Unusable

These arrived crushed and completely unuseable, so can't say if they would have started a fire easily. Sorry, but wouldn't order again
