Product Is GOOD!!! , Instructions R NOT !!

The product is GooD ! ,, But… The instructions are not. They don’t tell you what to do, they just give a rough sketch of what to do, next to zero words.. I had to backtrack several times to figure it out. But once you do get it put together the trainer is stable and it holds my weight. Be aware that if you don’t have a low step through it will raise the bike several inches and make it harder to get on it. I have to have a stool on both sides to get on cause I don’t have a low step through bike and because of my trouble getting on the bike I have to be extremely cautious so the front tire stays straight. To be fair though, I do have some mobility issues that I’m working on correcting. None of this is the fault of the product, the trainer is stable and holds my weight. Looses 1 star because they really need to give better assembly instructions. If they had better instructions they would be +5 stars+ .

Great for knee rehab

I recently underwent ACL reconstruction. I purchased this so that I could use my mountain bike in the house for stretching and strengthening my knee as I recover. The first one arrived malfunctioning (the crank you turn to lock the back wheel in place wasn't working) but it was quickly replaced with a second one which has been working fine. I haven't applied much resistance yet as I'm not to that point in my recovery, but for little/no resistance it's doing it's job. It feels sturdy and secure. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 starts is that the instructions are very poor. They're just pictures with no words so it took a bit of interpretation to figure them out.

Loud with the wrong tires.

I just bought a new bike, so my old one was going to be retired anyways. Decided to try this out since it had good reviews. I was lucky since my old bike had worn out city tires, and I mean smooth, skinny tires. So this product for me has been very nice, quiet, easy to move if needed, locked the bike in place well. I did test my new bike on it though, and the grip on the tires made the machine very loud. I have to raise my TVs volume a bit to ear it with normal tires. All in all a good product, good price if you have a second bike you're not using.

Very happy with this Bike Trainer

I checked out many bike trainers on Amazon. I watched the video's here and on YouTube to get as much information as I could in order to choose the right one. Prices ranged from $45 to $100+. I settled on this BalanceForm bike trainer because it had the front tire stand and the axel. The price was great, because the cheaper bike trainers ($40+-) didn't have the stand, which adds $6-8 to the price. I ordered this one and after reviewing the set up videos again, I had it set up in no time at all. No issues other than a missing bolt to hold the tension changer on the handlebars. Found one that fits from my own stash of bolts in my garage. Noise level is not bad, my dogs were concerned at first, but after a while, it didn't bother them. I saw a video on YouTube on how to get the trainers to be more quite. First, is to get a trainer tire that has no tread and to make sure everything is oiled. I don't think it is necessary as I still plan on using my bike on the road and don't want to make things MORE difficult and expensive to use the trainer. I decided NOT to use the tension controller and just laid it next to my bike. For me, the tension is fine and I can change gears to make it more difficult, should I choose. Overall, I am very happy with this bike trainer, I would 100% recommend it because it was easy to set up/take down (I use it in my living room and store it in my garage) and it does exactly what I want. Another tip is to get a good fan and use it to stay cool. My goal was to stay out of the South Florida Sun and be able to hang out with my dogs (separation anxiety, me, not them!) Win/Win.

Our extra bike fit right in with no fussing about

OK, this isn't a complaint about the magnetic resistance mechanism making noise because I wouldn't have the slightest idea if it were - had no idea that even fairly slick street tires would make so much irritating noise - if I needed an excuse to not exercise in the middle of the night this would fit the bill. The device works just like it says on the box, easy to set up, control works fine.

Recibi el producto y encontré que no traia instrucciones adecuadas para su uso ni a explicación de como hacer el cambio de la espiga en la llanta. Cuando al final lo hice, la pieza que me enviaron resulto ser demnasiado fragil y se rompio. Aunque ofrecen una pagina de contacto en Internet, no es amigable. NO ESTOY SATISFECHO. Cumple su función y si es fácil de instalar

Lo compré hace un mes pero evitaba instalarlo porque me dejé influir por comentarios que leía sobre lo difícil que era armarlo y la verdad no tiene mucha ciencia. Todo vino en buen estado, ninguna pieza defectuosa. Si se nota que los materiales no son los de mejor calidad pero de nuevo, si cumple su función y tampoco es de cristal. Vino pre-armado, en realidad solo tuve que atornillar la rueda de resistencia a todo lo demás. Luego reemplazar el eje de la rueda trasera por un eje que trae el kit, para que pueda ser "enganchado" en los dos parales. Y eso es todo. Trae un aparato unido por un cable con 10 niveles de "resistencia" que se coloca en el manubrio, pero no le veo la utilidad ni siento que haya diferencia al moverlo de niveles. Si es ruidoso al utilizarlo, en una escala del 1 al 10, le pondría un 7 u 8 de ruido. Hasta el momento estoy conforme con la compra.

Can work with a 'thru axle.'

There are many similar bike trainers available through Amazon. But this BalanceFrom model is recommended and sold by Amazon themselves, simplifying a return if necessary. Also, the jaws that clamp the rear axle (and the skewer) on this model seem to open wider than others (a little over 8½ inches), which is what I needed for my Trek Crockett 4 Disc bicycle that has a wide rear axle. One complication was that my bicycle has a 'thru axle.' In other words, the regular skewer that comes with the trainer won't work. Fortunately, the thru axle I have is a hollow tube. Therefore, a different skewer could work if it was long enough. The skewer that comes with the trainer is 190 cm long (which is also the length of the longest skewer I could find). Unfortunately, that is too short. But since the trainer jaws just hold the bicycle in place by squeezing the ends of the skewer against the bicycle, the skewer does not have to be one solid piece. As long as each end of the skewer goes into the thru axle, the jaws will work. There is no vertical pressure on the skewer rod. Just in case I had to return the trainer, I bought an extra 190 cm skewer. (Step 1 in the photo I included shows the extra skewer, the thru axle, and some electrical tape.) Below are links to a couple of 190 cm skewers that are available on Amazon. They are both identical to the skewer that came with the BalanceFrom trainer. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B098TBQ924 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08KPX5ZJB I cut the extra skewer in half with a hacksaw (see step 2 in the photo). The rod of the skewer is about 5 mm in diameter, but the inside of the thru axle is 6 mm. So I used some electrical tape around the skewer rod (see step 2) to make a snugger fit. With the thru axle mounted on the bicycle, the two halves of the skewer were then pushed into the thru axle. (See steps 3 and 4.) The bicycle (with a blue 700Cx23 Tacx trainer tire on the back) was then mounted into the trainer, and has worked flawlessly so far for six, 30 minute rides (each ride is the equivalent of about 18 km). Everything else about the trainer has worked as described. Set up of the trainer itself was quick and simple. The noise level with the trainer tire installed isn't too bad. I watch old episodes of TV shows while I ride, and there is no problem hearing the dialogue. Since there is no air movement like there is when riding outdoors, a cooling fan is highly recommended, as are head and wrist sweat bands.

Práctico & Funcional; Algo Ruidoso

El artículo vino pre-ensamblado, de tal forma que sólo hubo qué poner la pieza de fricción/resistencia (FR). La bicicleta simplemente se presenta, se monta con desde el eje trasero, se ajusta la altura del tubo de FR y listo. Trae un supuesto regulador de la resistencia, pero no es tan notorio el cambio salvo que en la bici también se regulen las velocidades, sólo así se precibirá un poco más la resistencia. Cabe notar que es importante que la bici tenga los salientes (cortos pero existentes) del eje trasero para montarla sin esfuerzo; si las llantas son de las quita-fácil, a la hora de querer apretar de más porque no queda bien segura, la estructura se puede doblar o incluso desoldar. Se recomienda usar con una bicicleta de 26", ya que una de 27.5" estará muy alto para subir y bajar a gusto. Asimismo, entre más rápido vayas, más ruido emite la llanta (en especial si es de montaña, suena parecido a cuando se le pone una botella de plástico vacía a la llanta trasera para simular -según- que es una motoneta).
