My fix it man neighbor liked it.

I'm a software engineer, if I have a hammer in my hand lookout! My neighbor who is very very handy came over to help install a washing machine and aske for a hammer. I gave him my TEKTON. He said it had good balance for a light duty hammer. Hey, who am I to argue. ( I have used this TEKTON exactly ONE time since I bought it to ATTEMPT to install a faucet on my own, which I FAILED at doing. So when to comes to manual/mechanical stuff, I rely on the opinions of people who actually know what they are doing!!!!)

Tekton double faced soft mallet / hammer

Good soft faced mallet / hammer for the price. The small head is nice for getting at things that a regular rubber mallet/ hammer is to big for. The striking faces are replaceable, but for some reason Tekton doesn’t sell them. There are other brands that make replacements that should work on this hammer if I ever need any so that’s always a option.

Great item for the price.

I bought this product for firearm cleaning and maintenance. Always useful to have a rubber mallet for that type of thing. Though heavier than it looks, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of construction and over all size for only 10 dollars. While I could use a shorter, smaller mallet, this is a must have tool if you tear down firearms often for cleaning, maintenance or upgrades. I am happy with this purchase and would say this is a must have if you work or tinker with smaller more sensitive mechanical items. I can't say much negative about it but I will leave a few observations after about 2 months of regular use. Being that it is quite heavy and could be a bit cumbersome in a smaller space. The rubber is quite firm on both sides, though one is obviously softer ( The "Orange" Side ) so be aware this may not be soft enough for some uses but if you are working with metal or polymers this should do well. Though the firmness may deter some people, softer and smaller mallets could compliment this in any tool box. However, this gets a five star for the simple value it offers. Doesn't feel like it will break and has done exactly what it's designed to do with ease.

this is a nice little hammer. I got mine to tap plastic fittings into irrigation pipe. Small size works very well for me as my work is mostly done in confined spaces in holes. i am able to unscrew 1 side of the head to make the hammer even smaller while remaining just as effective for my purpose. For me this was a much better option than the less expensive bulky rubber mallets. I dont think ill wear mine out by occasionaly hitting plastic but if you are a frequent tapper you can easily replace the heads which is pretty cool. The metal seems to be of a decent quality and finish as well. There is a very similar hammer that is 1 or 2 $ less but has a terrible finish due to some possibly janky machining, this is worth the extra 2 bucks. Of course this is not the best hammer in the world, but it might be the best hammer for 10 dollas.

Does the trick

I needed something actually for the large flat lego plates, for my son and I while building. This seemed like something I could use for that, as well as other uses around the house when I need to hammer something but not damage it with the metal head of the hammer. I like that both ends unscrew, so I can replace as needed if they start to chip away or break, as these things usually end up doing over time. Bigger than I had expected, but that's fine since it works as I needed, and for a decent price.

If you want hardcore, look elsewhere, this is a softie!

Recently I've been building a rig out of 40x aluminium extrusion that comes with plastic end plates. I needed something sturdy but soft to tap them in without damaging them, and it had to be red and black! lol (just kidding on that last but, but it was a bonus!) This is a great value item that is more versatile than I'd given it credit for with its interchangeable ends. The black is like a hard plastic, very durable, and the red end (oi, stop laughing!) is soft (I said stop laughing!) like a wine gum, mmmm! My only real criticism of it is that the ends do come loose more easily than I would have liked, but it's not a big deal to just screw them on a bit tighter now and again, and it's hardly something in use constantly - at least in my case anyway.
