One of the best CB mics!

Works great! Can be heard loud and clear! Sprayed a small amount of silicone oil on the switch and hinge. And used blue Loctite on the housing screws for extra measure and longevity. I think this mic will serve me well for many years to come! Chord length is 4'4".

Easiest mic to use when driving

When I first bought this mic, I was skeptical, after purchasing a Cobra 29 CB for my season in hauling asphalt the mic that came with the CB was crap. So, I ordered this one. No problems, it's clear, you really have to speak into the mic when holding it. It's not for the light speaking people, speak clear and louder and your message will deliver. I did put 4 stars for durability because it comes with an extra-long metal cord, I can only guess it's for people who have CB's not in their reach. For the price it's completely worth it. 9/29 update: Since I purchased this July 25, I've pretty much have used it daily for long hours. I will say as an update I'd like to say, you have to consistently check the end of the cable that attaches to the CB - because it does loosen up. But still it's very easy and I am so glad I purchased it!

Getting Good Reports

This was a replacement for the original mic on my stock Cobra 29 LTD Classic. My old mic was getting difficult for other people to understand me. Sometimes coil cords go bad internally, so I opted for the straight cord on this new mic. and have it hanging from a retractable Gear Keeper. I’m finally able to talk to other drivers again out on the road. I’ve asked several other truckers for feedback and they all said I was coming in loud and clear. I was even able to hear myself on one of my customer’s radios while I was sitting on their scale and testing the microphone. So far so good. I’m very happy with this mic.

Awesome noise canceling

Great mic, but be aware, as advertised, it's a noise canceling mic. So for anyone to hear your transmission, mic needs to be within 1" of your mouth

Astatic products top quality

I’ve always been a fan of astatic mics,great product, quality and appearance, have it on a cobra 29LXBT cb radio and works mint, lot better then stock mic. Now for the Amazon part, very impressed, ordered it Feb 10/21 arrival date was set for Feb 17/21, 2 days later got notification “may be arriving later then expected” and next thing I know Feb 15/21 “family day” I got the notification that “my product was delivered to my post box” Very impressed with service

Articulate modulation

A must have microphone, I use it with either my President or Superstar & Cobra cb radio's, they all sound excellent on-air, getting a clear and articulated audio across town or abroad via the ionospheric 'skip' conditions. To be honest it sounds every bit as good as it's legendary brother the Astatic M-575 Teardrop, the advantage is you cannot over-modulate.

Comfortable to hold and reduces road background noise

Very pleased with this Mike. It feels well built and comfortable to hold . I am currently using it on my new President Mc Kinley SSB radio . Had to use a 6pin to 4 pin adaptor cable . Have gotten good radio checks saying my Audio was clear!

Works great. Doesn't last long. I used to be an astatic customer for life. The first one I purchased lasted 7 yrs of constant work and abuse. I bought 4 more in the past 2 yrs. The workmanship of these has gone down the toilet. I don't know if they are being made in China now or? I feel need to update because I believe that thiscis the best mic on market. Perhaps I hot a dud and i think the spring in the switch broke. But I personally wouldn't buy another brand.
