Excellent. Not for all poles

Recommend — if it fits your pole. The construction is good. It’s lightweight and seems sturdy. It’s supposed to fit atop a 1” pole. The included bag of adapters will fit most poles. It doesn’t ‘fit’ the Patriot Sales Standard Aluminum Flag Pole Blue. The pole has an internal cap. The adapters don’t fit inside or outside the pole. The light can be pressed onto the end; however, it’s not an ideal assembly.

Could be better

I liked the set up and simplicity of the device, but wish it would maintain a longer life at night. After a few hours of darkness it is usually dead. If it lasted through a night I would give if five stars for the look and simplicity. Sadly, most solar powered devices don't last longer, so I can't hold them entirely at fault...just wish it lasted longer.

Good product!

No complaints. Fits well and adjustable. Wish it was just a little brighter but it serves its purpose as is.

for the most part, just right

Difficult to find a light for my wall flagpole and still use my Eagle finial. This one fit the bill. Was hoping for a little greater flood effect, but is sufficient to make it illuminated. Battery will not quite make it 'til dawn, especially in winter. Overall, pretty good.

Works with my 28' fiberglass Flagpole-To-Go

Haven't tested it out in the field yet. It came with several different adapters for fitting it to different poles. My pole is 7/8" and so the connection is a little floppy, but I can duct tape it on for better connection. Since the adapter is two piece I can unscrew the top section and remove the light without having to take off the duct tape. I'm expecting high winds where I'm going and I don't want the two little screws getting ripped out or there will be a UFO sighting as it flies through the air. The unit came with a rechargeable AA battery (1200mAh NI-MH). I've replaced it with an eneloop 1900 mAh batterym, which provides 58% more capacity. The eneloop batteries hold a full charge for a very long time. They also output full voltage until they are drained. The lights were much brighter after I replaced the battery. This means the battery that came with it had discharged quite a bit while sitting on the shelf. It also means the eneloop battery will keep the lights on at full brightness. If I used the battery that came with it then the lights will dim as the battery drains. I don't know the charge rate of the solar cells. They might not be able to fully charge my new battery over the course of a long Summer day let alone a short Winter day. I'm only planning to use this from 4-7 days at a time in the Spring, Summer and Fall so I can charge my battery at home after events.

This Solar Light does the job with the right flag pole

Like many other reviewers, I will say I am disappointed that the lights are not as bright as I hoped. But it does the job it you want to display and respect the flag during evening hours. It charges quickly, and mine stays on through night fall until dawn. For now the days are longer than the nights, so we'll see how well this works during the winter months. It slipped right on my Annin flag pole that I purchased at Walmart (which did not have lights, ergo purchasing this light through Amazon). Just remove the ball ornament, slip the "charged" light on (I say this because my flag pole gets sun enough to keep it charged - but not the direct sun which should be used to charge the solar panels). It is a 1 inch diameter hole that can not be expanded - so keep that in mind with whatever flag pole you use. But I would recommend this for purchase, not for an in ground stand-up flag pole that is 10-25 feet tall. But most definitely for a flag pole attached to a house wall.
