Fairly inexpensive and surprisingly usable mirror
Okay, I know the Schwinn name doesn't have the same quality connotations that it once did (sort of like Bell bike accessories). Still, this mirror isn't bad. I'm using it at the end of a handlebar on a mountain bike. The end opening in this mirror is a bit small for my mountain bike handle bar but it works, thanks largely to hook-and-loop strap that allows me to sort of finesse the mirror into desired position. So far mirror has stayed on bike, without falling off, but I've only ridden on paved trails and roads. The mount slips over end of handlebar and is held fast by the hook-and-loop fastener strip. If your bike handlebar grips are fairly large, or have large ridges sticking out somewhere along the grip then the mount might not fit well. I don't think this mirror will be usable on handlebars that point straight back, like traditional road bike bars, since mirror head doesn't swivel that much. Product is best for handlebars with ends pointing straight out to side, or nearly so. I'm not sure if this mirror head could be aimed right on a cruiser style bike with curved and swept back handlebars. The mirror itself is large enough to be useful. Vibration hasn't been a huge problem for me; I can still see if a car is approaching from behind. Other people seem to have problems with vibration. I think this mirror might be best when riding on smooth surfaces and used with smoother-riding bikes of the cruiser or beach style. I haven't determined if mirror is made of glass or plastic. For safety reasons, I'm guessing plastic. Speaking of safety, that might be a reason for the plastic construction and also the fairly loose mounting that troubles some users. Imagine a STEEL mirror and bracket sturdily mounted to the end of your handlebar. Now imagine hitting something and having the handlebar hit your body--HARD. Get the picture? Specs at Amazon don't say (or did I just miss it?) if mirror is glass or plastic and it is too bad that I needed to guess. Too bad manufacturers don't care enough about their products to bother with proper descriptive details. Luckily, we're here to do the merchant's jobs for them. Now if we only got paid....

Perfect for my Dahon
I bought several other mirrors for my Dahon and found none of them satisfactory. The Schwinn Deluxe Mirror is a perfect fit for the little foldable Dahon and I'm disappointed in the Amazon search engine which did not lead me to the Schwinn mirror at all. I had to type in Schwinn before finding it. Darn! If I'd found this mirror, I'd have saved myself some money! It fits just right on the Dahon handlebar grip, and holds very stead as I ride. I like the velcro fastener and find it comfortable under my hand. I must admit that it can break if you drop the bike while it's attached, but it works so well, that I'm willing to take that chance. (I'll just have to try harder not to drop the bike. lol) It would be good if Schwinn were to make the little attachment inside the bar out of metal instead of plastic. Otherwise the mirror is perfect.

Only use with totally round handlebar grips - not for ergonmic grips with flattened palm
These do not work with ergonmic grips with flattened palm. You will only be able to angle the mirror vertically, not at the horizontal angle needed. Used with a round grip you will be able to angle at any direction. So, these really work for straight handlebars with fully round grips only. Also, the mirror itself is relatively small making adjustment all the more limited. If mirror were slightly convex you would not need as precise an adjustment. Remember the mirror will be at more than an arm's length away on a bike, so size matters.

Easy to install
These mirrors attach to the handle bars with Velcro, which is a plus and a minus. They aren’t super steady and I can’t seem to adjust the mirrors to be able to see behind and beside me. I have this 4 stars because I think part of my issue is me - having a little brain lapse on the proper installation. No real instructions provided so I am figuring it out for myself. :)

Not What I Hoped For
This is actually a well-enough made bike mirror, and attaches to either handle very easily by means of the cupped plastic piece that fits over a portion of the the handle, with a hook-and-loop strap securing it in place on the handle in a way that doesn't bother the grip, but the mirror itself really needs to be at least somewhat convex to allow for a broader field of view, being far enough away from the rider's eyes that, being simply a small flat mirror, the view to the rear is quite restricted, to the degree a check for vehicles coming up from behind requires moving your head around to take in enough of the view to be assured you're not missing anything. If it is precisely adjusted to give a view to the rear right where you want it to, it can reveal what's there alright, but it still doesn't give a lot of confidence that everything you need to see back there is being seen. Obviously, the cost would go up with a convex mirror instead of the flat glass here, but the relatively low cost for this one really doesn't make up for the lack of view it provides. I have an older convex, wide-angle mirror that's really no bigger than this one, mounted on a cheap little bendable stem that secures to the handlebar, which I wanted to replace with this purchase. I mounted the old one just to the inside of the left shifter control of the handlebar so that its mirror was downward and outward of the handlebar where it was mounted (it wouldn't mount over the grip, just to the metal portion of the handlebar), with the new one mounted to the left handle, so I could compare both at the same time. Aside from the wide-angle mirror showing more of the view to the rear, without making objects appear too small and despite the view to the rear passing very close by the side of my left leg due to the position I had to mount it in, the convex view showed less effect of vibration than the flat mirror mounted on the handle did. So, I'm giving this one to the goodwill store and leaving the old one on. If it helps anyone, the exposed part of the oval mirror proper, inside the plastic frame, is 3-1/4" by 2-3/4" (the product picture shows it standing on end and not how it would appear in its mounted posture); the outermost part of the mirror housing extends to about 6-1/2" beyond the end of the handlebar, or past the end of the handle, when mounted as it should be.
