One Star or Five Stars ?
I read one star reviews - too light, not heavy duty, small cutting path, blah, blah, blah. I read five star reviews - very light, blah blah blah. Yes it's light weight, yes the batteries take a long time to charge. It is more a toy mower than I am used to, the big gas versions. I have now mowed 2 small yards with 5" long grass. I bogged down once (you need to move slowly AND only take about a 7" swath BUT it did an excellent job. I did not like the height adjustment, at the highest it's not very high. I want the grass to be 2-3" long - that's not possible with this mower. I have a small yard, I am 73 and I enjoy cutting grass. Would I purchase this again... Yes.

Lighter to Push
Well, it arrived on a Sunday, which is my 'inside' day. Had to wait to put it together. Assembly was a Breeze! I've only used it once, but, I'm happy with it. It's easier than the big gas powered one to fit around all of the plants in my yard. The only reason I only gave it four stars is that it doesn't cut quite as short as the other one. I'm old and tired. Here in the deep south, the grass may need cutting twice a week at that height. But, so far, I like it.

Worth reading the entire review
I saw some negative reviews about battery life, which I don’t have the same to report. This lawn mower uses the larger 4amp batteries (2), and I can mow my entire yard (approx 75’x50’) and it takes about 2 bars on the battery gauge and I then use one battery to run the weed whacker just fine. The only “negative” would be the lowest/shortest cutting height is not very close cutting to the ground (approx 2.5” blade length). The bag does seem sort of small, but not a huge problem (IT WILL LOSE CUTTING POWER IF RUN WITH A FULL CLIPPINGS BAG). It’s very lightweight and quieter than my Shark vacuum. Damp grass doesn’t cause any function issues, neither does thicker weeds. Assembly was just four bolts to attach the handle. No flat ground in my back yard and this mower handles the terrain very well.

Easy to use, Limited battery life
It comes out of the box ready to use, just charge the batteries, plug them into chassis, attach bag and you're off and running for about 110 minutes. The bag is easy to install and remove to empty. For safety reasons, the instructions require removal of the batteries before emptying the grass catcher. The handles have three heights, easily adjustable, and over 7 adjustments for the height of the deck. It is a bit louder than expected, and the motor generally runs at one speed. You can adjust the walking pace, but not the mower blade speed, which self-adjusts based on the effort it takes to spin the blade. The motor speed increases as you hit thicker patches of grass. If you need to stop and manually push, to cut around a tree, or other obstacle, the rear wheels need to rotate one full revolution without power in order to disengage the drive gear. This is not mentioned in the instruction manual. The 2 - 5 watt hour batteries are supposed to last 2.5 hours, but don't quite make it to 2 hours. If you use 2 - 4 watt hour batteries only last 90 minutes instead of the expected 2 hours. In order to cut 1/4 acre lot it required 3 battery changes, however, the third set was only partially discharged after 4 hours. The batteries also are too warm to start charging for over an hour, and take several hours to recharge using the charger that came with the mower. It is highly recommended to buy at least one extra pair of 5 watt hour batteries to have ready when the first pair are discharged. Since I have 1/2 acre, I was unable to complete my mowing session in a single outing. I suspect I would need 12 batteries to get the job done. I ended up using a second plug-in mower which I was using previously. It is nice not to have to drag a long electric cord all over the property. The unit is made to be stored sitting with the blade exposed, and instructions are quite clear about keeping the mower deck clean between uses, and to use a plastic scraper or wire brush to remove the grass debris that sticks to the underside of the deck and keep the mower blade sharp every 50 hours or so. The handle locks in place, and can easily be moved while folded up. It is very well designed and built to last. My biggest concern is the battery life, and their idea that 50 hours of use is several years usage. The manual claims this model is ideal for 1/4 to 1/2 acre lots. The motor can handle the continuous running time to support the claim, however, the battery life is a bit overstated. They might have boosted the battery running time by adding a separate battery to handle the self-propelled motor. The frame is a bit heavy, and could have been made of plastic or composite to make it lighter and easier to propel The manual also makes a point not to use water or any solvents for cleanup, so that water does not damage the motor or controls. Overall, it is a sturdy machine, not likely to require much maintenance other than replacement batteries and keeping the blade sharp. As Doug Marcaida would say - it will cut!

Missing parts
Finally used this mower today just finished, I must say very quiet and light, the self propulsion worked good even on the small but steep rise in my backyard. Took about an hour and ten minutes to cut my yard with two bars of charge left in the batteries they should go well beyond my run time, if only worx could improve customer service.

I like it!
I am a 115 lb little woman. I love that this was easy to assemble, lightweight enough to carry down my steps one handed, easy to start and stop, not hard on the hands when mowing, and it’s not extremely loud. It DOES work with the same batteries their trimmer uses, which I also love, but not well. The batteries it comes with are a tad bigger, and they have a charge indicator button which is really cool. The trimmer batteries both at full only lasted taking it down the edge of the driveway and to the curb. Just edges. I had what looked like 20% and 30% charges on the big batteries when it arrived, and that actually lasted it until almost the entire front facing first side of the lawn. Not the back, and not the skinny side of the house. But that was substantial. I know that’s not helpful if I can’t quote square footage or acreage, I’m sorry. But so far I’m really liking it. I’ll update if anything comes up!

Power Hungry
Satisfied but not thrilled. Just a small area to cut and feel it is not powerful enough. Really not picking up small spring leaves in the lawn and worry that summer grass may be too challenging for this machine. Time will tell with our long hot summers here in FL. Also, I have seen other mowers at Lowes since this purchase that are have a wider cut at about the same price. Not sorry we bought it but probably should have checked out the competition better ? It is quiet and easy to store and the batteries are sufficient for our relatively small Lawn.

Perfect for a small urban yard.
I bought this mower for a couple of reasons. Firstly I wanted to go battery so I could stop trailing a cord from the front yard to the back and secondly because I already had other Worx tools so could swap in other batteries/chargers as needed. Now that I've had a good 4 months with the mower I'm still very happy. I have a relatively small, standard Toronto lot with a small square of grass out front and out back. When using it in 'Eco' mode I'm getting 4/5 cuts of both lawns, so charging the batteries maybe once a month to every 6 weeks. I had to use the 'Turbo' mode once when i left the grass too long and that did drain the batteries in one cut. For me this is fine though - 90% of the time I will be using 'Eco' mode and not having to charge it much. The lightness is definitely a bonus so I can carry it from the front to the back of the house without dropping clippings everywhere. On that note - I have only used the bag once, on the occasion that the grass was left too long. It did fill up fast and kept tripping the power off, but that could also have been down to moisture on the grass. For 90% of the cuts I've left the bag off and the mulch plug in and its worked perfectly, mulching up the grass small enough to avoid clumps. The final big bonus for me is that the handle folds up to the size of the mower. This has allowed me to store it on the bottom shelf of a storage unit instead of having to lean up against the inside of the garage like my old mower. Its not really much of a pain to loosen/tighten the four bolts every use as long as you make sure the cable to the handle does not get caught/kinked. Overall its done exactly what I needed it to with no complaints. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a larger (or even medium sized) lawn as its a smaller blade diameter and the battery won't last as long. But if you live in a city with a small lawn and little storage space its perfect.

Why are you asking for a lawnmower review in February in Canada?
I appreciate that there is no human involvement in these review requests, so I'm giving this item a conditional 5 stars since it says "Lawn Mower" on the carton and that is, indeed, what I ordered, thus so far so good. Further analysis as conditions allow. I haven't evaluated its snow-clearing effectiveness, because that would be silly. But it self-identifies as a lawnmower, with pronouns 'it/its', so that's enough for now.

ENGINEERED TO BREAK, POOR BUILT QUALITY, HORRIBLE WORX CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I bought this WG779 lawnmower based on the positive reviews. When I opened the undamaged box, I found a little piece of orange plastic at the bottom of the box. I couldn't see at first where it was supposed to fit so I assembled the machine nonetheless. When time came to use it, I realized the broken plastic piece was the protruding end of the so called "Security Key" acts as a switch. The whole machine is useless without this flimsy, thin, fragile plastic piece.see picture. To prevent the hassle of returning it and convinced that replacements must be readily available, I contacted Worx customer service. They took 10 days before replying that YES they could replace it just to tell me 2 days later it was out of stock for months. That they had 2 spare ones but that I needed a USA address for them to ship it to me even though I’m in Canada ! They weren’t helpful, were slow to reply, they just waisted my time. Needless to say I won’t buy a Worx product again.

An OK Option
This is an updated review after I had to return the first mower I received. If you have an average to small yard and don't require a heavy duty machine (i.e. you cut your lawn regularly and don't have a lot of leaves to deal with) this machine is suitable. PROS The mower is lightweight plastic and was very easy to "assemble"- you just attach the handle. It folds easily for compact storage. The mower is relatively light and easy to manoeuvre. The mower is effective in regular-height to tall grass and over a variety of terrain. The double charger (included) is a must given the two-battery design. CONS The "key" is a cheap bit of plastic that could easily be damaged. The operating bail and handle are flimsy. The mulch bag is awkward to attach/detach. The mower struggles to cut/mulch leaves. The foam rubber covering the handle is low quality. The mower is designed to a price point and it shows. The design and construction mean it is not easily repaired by the user. WORX appears to have very low QA/QC standards. The first mower I received had a serious defect. The height adjustment lever had not been installed properly, and due to the design of the mower/wheel assembly a home fix was non trivial. The return process was easy (except for having to get the mower to a shipping center). The replacement mower was fully functional, however, the foam covering on the handle had a 3 inch tear and the key was wedged between a wheel and the mower body and had to be pried out. I decided to live with the torn foam.

Did Not Last Two Summers. Terrible Customer Service.
Went to use this mower after storing it for the winter months and it won’t spin at all. The battery lights on the side light up and show full charge. Tried both eco and turbo settings and no power. I had left the batteries charging and they worked just fine in my other Worx tools. I contacted Worx and the best they could offer was a 20% off coupon to buy a new one. They have NO REPAIR shops or technicians. They simply told me to take it to my local hardware store and ask them to fix it. My local hardware store is Home Depot. They don’t have a repair desk. Thanks for nothing but a waste of my time and money. I will not be buying another Worx product. This is very unfortunate and disappointing experience.
