Gets It Done
It’s not fancy, but it is what it is. I like that the board is small enough to fit inside the box without the fold you see on many game boards; that would have ruined the feel for sure. The planchette is cheap plastic, but I think it’s fitting for the price and also for the camp appeal of an inexpensive, mass-produced board game that is supposed to put you in communication with the spirit world. There are no instructions or other material inside the box apart from the board and the planchette, unless you count the lightweight cardboard tray keeps them in place. Everything the manufacturer wants to tell you about your new Ouija board is communicated on the outside of the box. The spin is a lot more “magic 8 ball, fun at tween sleepovers” than “open a portal to another dimension and summon supernatural entities”. Still, I wasn’t able to find any mention of the product on Hasbro’s website. It simply wasn’t there, rubbing elbows with Scattergories and Peppa Pig Monopoly. Mind, this is the same site where they have Risk and something called The Lie Detector Adult Party Game, for ages 16+. I noticed the age recommendation on the Ouija board’s box is 8+, which sounds about right if they are hoping to spawn a ‘Paranormal Activity’ reboot. Game play was pretty exciting! I set it up and played alone while I waited out an excruciatingly long antivirus update on my computer. In no time I had a compelling message from the beyond: “P-R-_”, the third spin landing on a featureless blank area of the board. Encouraged, I kept playing. The wealth of insight and wisdom coming through the oracle was truly astounding, evinced by such proclamations as “L-T-Yes-Moon” and “B-R-9-M-Q-F-H-D-4”. Fresh off that towering success, next I tried to meet someone. I was hoping for H.P. Lovecraft, Aleister Crowley, or maybe even Sorrell Booke, but instead I communicated with an entity I believe to be a manifestation of Ellen Burstyn, who is still alive. She had plenty to say about the back injury she suffered while filming ‘The Exorcist’. All in all, this has been a great game so far, and I wouldn’t hesitate to trust its input while making important life decisions, like whether I should move to Indiana, take up snorkeling, or try the new sugar-free incarnation of my favorite citrus soda.

Just the board, no spirits included!
This is just a board, Hasbro has not found a way to include spirits with the purchase. Unfortunately, our house does not appear to be haunted, so my experience was uneventful. My friends and I may have to find a cemetery or something to see if we have better luck, but I can't fault the board for anything.

Exactly as described!
Just what my daughter was wanting. Reminds me of the one I had as a child.

It just sits there.
So apparently mine didn't come with the optional spirits. It just sits there. No occult activity at all. Which is fine, I live a cursed enough life as it is. All in all, a fun gift. Well made, low wattage, one-size fits all... etc.

Very short educational review ????
I played this game with my daughter and I couldn’t believe it! We began by chanting “Ouija are you here?” Over and over again. Then it did the craziest thing I’d ever seen. It said, “ nothing,” absolutely nothing. And so my daughter asked a different question to just like open up to the board or whatever ya know? So, we placed the arrow thingy in the center of the board, the clear part on the T. She asked a very personal question, she very much like tea, so, she asked, “do you like tea.” I personally thought nothing would happen, but the arrow thingy, didn’t move once again. Concerned, she asked once more. “Do you like tea?” Now, being the jokester I am, I thought this was the perfect set up for a joke. I personally didn’t move anything as one does when playing such a serious game. But, to my logic, I think that the board likes the tea. Why? Because it didn’t move from the letter T! Hahaha, I’m the funniest. But then she spat at my face but that’s not important. We turned off all the lights then put on a candle that smells like terrible men’s cologne which I wear if we’re being honest. We tried once again. We said good bye, and then restarted after watching a seven minute video of a guy telling us exactly what we were doing except we just didn’t have the part that said, “have an open mind” which I guess we didn’t think about too much. I grabbed a picture of my dead brother, and we asked the ouija board if he could come and visit on the board. Me and bro bro both are the jokester type ya know? And so, I thought it would be hilarious if we asked a stupid question to my dead brother. “Do you like fart slash poop jokes?” We were more than certain that he would’ve responded sense this question is clearly an important segment in his humor. We waiting a minimum of like five minutes just like the box says, but absolutely nothing. Disappointed. The box claims, “Just ask it a question and wait to see what answer the Mystifying Oracle(trade mark) will reveal to you.” Now, we had candles and crystals and stuff like that. But when I tell you that was a friggin lie!? “Sturdy Wood Ouija Board Featuring Original Graphics...” WHAT DO YOU MEAN WOOD?!?!?! THIS PEICE OF “WOOD” IS ACTUAL CARD BOARD?!?! WOOD MY ASS?! I mean it could actually be wood, but, they cover it up in paper so don’t take my word for it okay? We did everything we could to summon dead people with this board including the part where we must, “...wipe with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and moisture.” What’s gonna happen? Will the moisture that goes to the board be taken from my skin causing skin damage? I dunno. I’m trying here okay? In the beginning, i already had little faith due to the fact that this board game is from hasbro. Ya know the place where they make toys and stuff for children? Why is this targeted toward children? It’s like, ya gotta be 21 years of age to be able to drink alcoholic beverages, 18 years of age to smoke tobacco and marijuana and join the military to die, and 8 years of age to summon f-ing demons? I think it’s fun to play with, but I might die after making fun of it. Sorry demons.

Possibly, The Best, Mass-Produced Version of The Ouija On the Market Today!!!
AWESOME!! Got it in about 4-6 days after ordering. The board is very smooth and well made, I absolutely love the box it comes with, very sturdy and almost air-tight, and has that retro look and feel of it. I use this board by myself many times. ALWAYS remember to say Good-bye, I cannot stress this enough if you use this or any Ouija board for that matter. This is not a toy and I do not recommend getting this for a very young person or someone who is immature. You are contacting spiritual powers, principalities, spirits in high places that you cannot see. I treat this board like I treat my Bible, with respect. I find it laughable that these objects are marketed to children, even the examples of questions on the back of the board box is insanely ridiculous and inappropriate. If you use it ask serious questions only not if you are going to get the prom queen this year! Other than that, the quality of this board is great for a mass-produced board. The planchette should have been made out of a light, softwood such as pine, but I suppose you could always replace it and make your own! Oh, and NEVER use it in a graveyard, other than that, great board.

Haven’t summoned any spirits as of yet
A nice classic Ouija board, good quality for the money.

Use these with caution
I've always been interested in the paranormal, but also open minded. I believe there are definitely spirits, but I also try to find a rational explanation first for strange events. The one thing I have always been skeptical about though are Ouija boards. I wanted to try one as I previously experienced strange events for years in my house (hearing loud running upstairs, items disappearing and re appearing somewhere else, lights switching themselves on, objects continually falling and smashing without an explainable cause). It stopped about 6 years ago. I got this Ouija board before Christmas, but I've only used it a few times. They work, but that's not the scary part. What's scary is now I have started experiencing on a daily basis the strange events again, that I listed above. I don't believe this is a coincidence at all. It's got to the point where I have actually given the Ouija board away, I didn't want it in my house anymore. Whether you believe in this stuff or not, be careful with these and treat them with respect. They may be marketed as a toy, but after what I have experienced I don't even think this stuff should be messed about with.
