Great outdoor basketball

Expectations Permanently Raised

I am not a basketball junkie. I played maybe two or three seasons of rec basketball in my pre-teen years and sucked at it. But as I got older, just shooting around on the driveway became an easy way to get exercise and some cardio in. Up until I got this ball, I've only ever played with cheap $5 balls you'd get from a Five Below or something similar. They are lumpy, don't bounce consistently, and don't have the greatest grip. But I didn't know any better, so they worked just fine for me. Recently, I had some extra money lying around and decided to give this ball a shot to see if a much more expensive ball would be different from the balls I was used to. Spoiler alert: it is. Of course, I expected an expensive ball to be better than a cheap ball, but the quality difference between the two types of balls was far beyond my expectations. This Wilson NBA Forge basketball looks better, bounces better, and feels better. However, the thing that stands out to me the most is how easy this ball is to shoot. Compared to cheap balls, this ball actually goes where you expect it to go. This makes for consistent shooting and allows you to practice shooting and actually get better at it. Again, since I don't actually play basketball, I can't say much about how the ball handles (although it does feel great in my hand), but from a casual shoot-around perspective, it has been night and day. My expectations for what a basketball should be have been permanently raised and I will never be going back to a cheap ball ever again. I will note that my ball has been scratched up some by branches near my driveway (see picture). This obviously wouldn't be a problem if playing on an outdoor court or in a place without trees/shrubbery, and even with the scratches, I haven't felt much of a difference at all with how it handles, the ball is still fantastic.

Good ball!

Nice ball, has a good bounce and look to it. I subtracted a star because I bought it as a gift. It was a ball in an Amazon box. No real package other than we lose plastic. If it's for personal use, great ball! If it's a gift... I would probably get something that looks more impressive

Surviving on the rough blacktop

Love this ball. Great feel and bounce for an outdoor ball. It's already showing some signs of wear, but I've been using it very often on an outdoor court that's very rough and that has eaten up two of my other basketballs. Will update in the coming months.

Loses air super quickly

I initially loved this ball. it feels good on the hands, has good grip, and bounces great. However it looses air very very quickly and it becomes come quite tedious to to refill it with air again and again.

Perfect but the grip

This is an amazing budget basketball and really durable for outdoors. Although only in cold weather the grip is really non-existing. Other than that and the ball losing its color it’s been real nice and durable.

Legit - comes inflated

Got it via the STS Shop seller, nicely packed and delivered. It is legit and came inflated in the box as advertised. Ball feels very premium during play and just the feel of it, the grip, the bounce, the usual aspects that one looks at when wanting a basketball. I bought it for outdoor use as a secondary to the rubber one I have but the grip is not so great outdoors, after a while it will pick up dust/dirt and becomes slippery. Bet indoors this will be amazing.
