The Best Scissors out there!

I bought my last pair of these scissors from Staples and they were a great deal more expensive than what I purchased from Amazon. I actually got two pair of the same scissors for less than what I paid for one pair at Staples. Sooooo... Titanium Scissors are the best ever as they last a really long time and manage to keep their scissor blades sharp as well. I would recommend for sure!

The Best Scissors for Light to Medium Use Available Anywhere

These Westcott scissors are perhaps far better than any other brands I have tested, and I have been through practically every one over the years (e.g. Fiskars, Scotch, TRU RED, Office Depot, and many generic brands). They cut through materials such as thin cardboard, plastic cards, and paper easily. However, from time to time, I get bad pairs right out of the box with bumps across the blades which makes for a rather poor cutting experience (i.e. the scissors don't feel smooth when opening and closing them). I recommend using a small amount light machine oil in the fulcrum area to keep them working like new. Also, wiping the blades down with a dry or mildly wet microfiber cloth helps remove any debris that can gum up the blades. I am surprised that the company does not recommend taking these measures as they can extend the life of the scissors. Rubbing alcohol will cause permanent stains on the metal, so I would recommend not using it on the blades. Contrary to the company's advertising, these scissors wear out rather quickly if frequently used for cutting tougher materials such as thick cardboard like the one found in shipping boxes. These are not quite industrial-strength scissors but should cut through most light and medium materials without any trouble. I would not recommend using these particular scissors to cut tape and other adhesive. The chemicals found in adhesive remover substances can stain the blades and ruin their precision but if it’s at all necessary to use adhesive remover, use it sparingly; Goo Gone is ideal for these situations being a light enough formula that removes adhesive without damaging metal and plastic surfaces like those found in these scissors. The lighter, drier, and less sticky the materials that are cut with these scissors are, the better for extending these scissors’ useful life.

So handy

I like to have scissors in lots of places in the kitchen and elsewhere. I keep at least 3 pairs of scissors in the kitchen so I don't have to search of some when I need them - and it is a small kitchen. I already had some of these, but the price was so great, I bought 2 of the 2-packs and probably should have gotten more. I wound up giving a pair to my sister and a pair to another family member, who, like me, like to have a good pair of scissors handy. I use them to cut open bags of chips, frozen vegetables, boxes of whatever, trim a variety of things, cut open items sealed in plastic that are usually a challenge to open, and for other innumerable tasks about the kitchen and elsewhere. I have even used these to trim my hair on occasion when it gets annoying and I cannot get to my beautician right away.

Great scissors, blades never dull.

Have bought several sets of these scissors - best I've found so far. Keep their edge for ages - haven't had to throw a pair away yet! Would fully recommend.

Update after 9 months - PLEASE DON'T BUY, SERIOUSLY!

Update 2020-10-15: Please, please, don't buy them! They are made to break! Used by educated people and more than in gentle ways! Amazon: Plese recommend things in the right way! The scissors blades may be strong, but the plastic is biscuit! 1 broke and the other will break soon. Maybe there is a titan for the metal part, but the plastic one is subpar - don't understand at all the concept lifetime. Looks good, do the job...but fall short to durability

Good quality scissors

For this price they are decent quality scissors. Not heavy duty as they claim because they won't cut easy through some material but still very good for the money.For everyday light to medium usage get these. For demanding tasks look elsewhere and pay more. Better quality and price than the big retail stores offer. How long they stay sharp is the question so time will tell. 5 stars is a fair rating only because of their price and quality but again more money gets you better so don;t buy these if you expect great.

Didn't look close enough when buying

The finger loops on these aren't the flat type that are even with the blades. As a result I find that when cutting fabric, the fabric pulls and if I cut 3 layers at once ...they are each a slightly different size. Next time I'll make sure I'm buying the ones where the blades and handle are on the same plane.

That what I'm buying online is good quality so reading reviews is the only way to do that.

I recently looked up online how to cut my own hair. I liked how easy it was and all the money I could save by omitting the hairdresser's fees. Cdn $54.00 per visit. I ordered these scissors one for hair cutting and the other because all the scissors in my home were dull. Westcott Straight Titanium does the job. Very sharp and love how great they cut my hair. I recommend to others. Got a good deal at shopping at Amazon.
