Very cheap connection to cigarette lighter.
Very cheap connection to cigarette lighter. Used 3 times since I bought it, Plastic connector just broke when disconnecting from car cigarette lighter socket. Of course is not under warranty any more....

Wrench is powerful and great for emergency wheel changes
I wanted some emergency equipment for our motorhome. We have a spare wheel but we’ve had to wait hours for roadside assistance, if it’s available at all. I just don’t want to be stuck somewhere isolated (maybe where there’s no cell signal to call for help!) with a flat tire. So, I bought this wrench so I can change a wheel by myself. I tried to remove lug nuts with a long-handled wrench but couldn’t break the lug nut free. Then I tried this 12V wrench and voila! It removed the nuts like a champ. No arm-breaking recoil (torque) either. I haven’t useed the wrench yet in an emergency situation but I’m confident I can change a wheel by myself with this tool. PS: you can but shouldn’t use it to reinstall lug nuts - it’s powerful enough that you could strip the threads. I use a torque wrench for that. Between these two tools, I think I’m covered!

I’ve used it on 25+ tires
This has been a really great buy for me. It works really well and is easy to use. I’ve only had one tire I couldn’t get off and it was not the impacts fault. I bent and broke two hand tools trying to get that lugnut off when the impact didn’t work. A couple of things to know. Don’t push the impact hard onto the lugnut. If you are pushing it will not allow the impact to do its work. I’ve learned to place it on the lugnut and press the button. The second thing that was weird is my buttons are backwards. I don’t know if it is just mine or if all of them are like this. But my “L” for Loosen is the button for tightening and my “T” for tightening is the one for loosening. I’ve also have put standard wrench sockets on it for other things and it works great (as long as you don’t lean weight or push on the impact. I love it so much that I might buy a second for the other car.

Wagan 12V impact wrench
The device works, but not as effective as I would like. This 12V impact wrench best operated with car running to supply 14V to make this product work better. At one impact per second or so, it takes a few seconds to wack wheel nut loose. Bottom line, it works, but for practical reasons, if it takes time to deal with the cable and its hookup, and throw in the one impact per second operation, it is just too much fuss with little reward. Better to have a breaker bar and appropriate lug nut size socket to leave in car for more efficiency. The short ineffective lug wrench supplied with most cars easily compensated by a good long Craftsman breaker bar with appropriate socket. With no assurance of how tight the lugs are when reinstalling them, a real wrench is best used anyway after using this impact wrench. However, the item is a keeper for me as home mechanic to deal with certain suspension work and long reach hardware. I would not recommend this product to the average buyer eyeing this product as an alternative to normal methods. 6/2012: Now comes a positive update. The tool is very useful when time comes to perform car maintenance beyond working at one wheel. When rotating tires, this impact wrench amplifies its advantage compared to single wheel work scenario. Rotating tires or removing multple wheels to perform brake work are times when this tool really shines. There is the need to use a breaker bar or torque wrench to tighten the lugs with proper torque. Counting number of impacts during tightening process may not generate consistent tightening torque from lug to lug. But this tool works!

Don't push on the bolt or it won't work!!!
How to use this Impact wrench!!! I learned a lesson today, the impact wrench WILL NOT WORK work if you PUSH into the bolt you are trying to remove!!!! Instead put the socket on the bolt securely, then squeeze the trigger. The unit will spin up then go clank!, To remove my tire lug, I had repeat this 6x but each time I saw the lug turning. NOTE: if you use this on a flat, clank it 3x per lug then jack your car up a bit so the tire is either on the ground lightly or above ground or use your tire lug wrench again with the tire off the ground. If you have the weight of the car on the flat tire, you could snap or bend the lug nuts and or damage your rim!!! This supposedly has about 100lb more torque than the Kawasaki which I purchased first, and I think it does have some extra power as the Kaw. did not loosen my lug at all, BTW I also noticed I pushed the wrench into my bolt for some reason and I thought I broke it.... Moral of the story, put the socket on the bolt/lug but do not push into or down into the lug/bolt. I learned the pushing stops it by trying to remove the bolt on my motorcycle fork (if you need to replace your seals this makes it a piece of cake)! I pushed down and nothing was happening, luckily I took pressure off and then it worked, that's how I figured it out!!! I bet most of the I didn't work people made the same mistake as I just returned the Kawasaki for the same reason!!!

Great for eventual use, not very HD
I have a roadside assistance company and bought this for one of my techs to use. As it is incredibly easy and super fast to use, I am a bit concerned on it’s durability. I mean it kinda broke a piece and got stuck inside preventing it for properly operating, so we took it apart and found out it broke one of the security screws. While we cleaned it and world again, I remain a bit scheptical about it durability. Other than that the product worked great, would recommend for eventual users but maybe not so much for heavy and constant use.

Surprised!
Priced nicely. Didn’t really think it would work all that well. I was shocked when it took those lug nuts off! Not bad at all. Great for emergency changes. Simple to use! Recommend!

Great Handy Tool
Purchased this tool last week and just used it yesterday to change 4 tires on my car. Super easy to use, even if your are a beginner like myself in DIY repair jobs. My lug nuts were bolted tight by someone who installed my winter tires on. He failed to use anti seize, thus we couldn't get the lug nuts out manually. Since we wanted to change our tires ourselves this season and to do other work around the wheel body frame of our car, we decided to search Amazon and found this nice little Impact wrench. Wagan, the company, is a US based company and after researching them, we found that they do make high performance automotive tools and are described as a company who take great pride in their work and are quite "honorable" to their commitments. Overall it took us less than an hour to change our tires, but this is with some extra work that we performed around the body frame where the tires sit. Going to the mechanic to change your tires will probably cost you anywhere between $30 - $75 and plus depending on the shop and the installation process. A one time purchase of this impact wrench makes it a worthwhile investment to an automobile owner. It also come in a convenient carrying case which is super light (impact wrench included) to carry and take with you or just keep in the back of your car trunk. The only slight problem with this tool that we discovered is, you have to plug it in your cigarette lighter and have your car engine on at all times for this tool to work. Otherwise, your battery will drain. Also, if you have a battery booster pack with a 12V plug in it, DO NOT use this Impact wrench with it. We did and quickly found out that it drained the booster pretty fast after removing 4 lug nuts. Overall, we give this tool a 5 out of 5. It does the job, its super light weight and super easy to use. Yes, we do recommend this tool for any DIY car owner or general auto mechanic.

12v DC Emergency Impact Wrench
Quick free delivery ! Unit does what I require ..... to remove tire bolts in order to quickly change a flat tire on the vehicles. It appears to be an attractive well built unit. Have used it twice since receiving them and as others pointed out, it takes a few extra seconds to loosen the bolt. It starts to spin inside the unit as soon as you pull the trigger, then hammers the bolt while attempting to spin the nut free. Mine took about 2 or 3 hammer cycles before the nut started to visually move. Then it quickly spins off the nut, so you can move onto the next one. Fast and safe emergency way for removal of the flat tire. The plastic case for the unit is great to ensure it stays clean and all together. The 2 included sockets are a great fit. One end of each of them is a different size such that all the necessary nut sizes are covered. The cord is long enough to reach all 4 of my SUV tires from the Dash Cigarette lighter socket. I feel it is a great purchase.

I keep it in my trunk. Saves lots of effort in replacing wheel nuts.
Very handy tool for wheel replacement. This impact wrench is performing as expected.

Not bad for the price, but not a typical impact wrench.
I guess it's not bad for the price. The operation is a bit weird as it "winds up" then smacks at the bolts - not a typical impact wrench feel...but it does work. I was able to easily remove all of the lug bolts on my BMW - including the locking nuts. I imagine it would not work well with stripped or rounded nuts.
