Working great
Wanted to put taller gearing on a mountain bike, this fit the bill for sure. The build quality is just like a Shimano

Aluminum Cranks
I'm not sure what cranks usually weigh, but these are lighter than the steel cranks they replaced. For a limited comparison I weighed a few of the sets I had. -This aluminum crank set weighs 40 ounces exactly (I have the 3 gear 170mm option) -The aluminum cranks I have on the front of our tandem weigh only 32.8 ounces, but they are compact and welded together with no spider, so naturally they should be lighter. -The Steel crank set this one replaced which only had 2 gears, rivets, and no spider weighed 49.5 ounces (glad to be rid of them). I bought these to add some more range to our tandem and also shave off a little weight. So far it's working wonderfully. There are many reasons to consider this crank set: If your compact set is not allowing you to go fast enough, if you need some cheap bolt on chain rings, or if you need to lose the weight of steel cranks. I wouldn't get these if you're wanting something lighter than a set of aluminum cranks you already have, or if you're wanting a really small granny gear. --Edit-- In working with this crankset I've noticed it holds the chainrings out about a centimeter further than the other cranks I have. I bought some longer chainring bolts and some washers to move the rings back in. This doesn't bother me since I need the extra room for my timing ring, I just found it kind of odd. I bought an FSA crank off ebay for the captain's crankset that weighs a few ounces less, but it looks noticeably weaker, so I'm glad I have this one for my stoker.

Solid and heavy.
Replaced a smaller crankset (42t) on a mountain bike with this one to get a higher gear ratio. It is rather heavy - not a big deal in my case. Fits on a bike with rather tight clearances, proper chainline achieved with 118 mm BB-UN55 cartridge. All three gears are operational with existing derailleur. Note that replacing a crankset require some special tools. For just a crankset, you would need a crank puller. If bottom bracket is also replaced then add BB removal tool (watch out – some of them are for a not very common 1/2” wrench). Finally, if you have old-fashioned BB (not a cartridge), a lock ring spanner would be needed.

I got the biggest one
The big one only has two chain rings, and it dwarfed my old set up. I had a 44t 3 chain ring on a mtb spindle on my trike. I was looking for some higher top end speed as I only ride it on roads. By hand cranking as fast as I could the old 44t would get up to 35 MPH. Real world peddling I topped out at 32 MPH on a gradual downhill. This new 53t can hand crank up to 45 MPH easy. I didn't know 9 extra teeth could make that big of a difference.

Great crankset for the money
Had it now almost for 2 years, 10,000+ miles on it. Commuter/racer. No problems. Great crankset for the money. Stood on it hardcore. Totally punished it! 52/42/30. Only slight problem was my 9° looks wore out allowing my shoes to wear the logo off the crank.

but it's pretty cheap. I went out for a quick ride ...
I'm not really sure what kind of steel they made the chainring out of, but it's pretty cheap. I went out for a quick ride after installing the new crankset - after about 40 minutes and stopping at a red light, I stood up to get moving again and completely bent the 52T chainring. I've never seen that happen on any of my other bikes or chainrings before. I'm not a small guy, but I'm also not heavy enough (or strong enough) to bend steel in my everyday life. The guy from Amazon was nice enough to get me a refund and genuinely seemed like he wanted to help me; however, unfortunately this happened right before a race so I couldn't get a replacement in time. Definitely seems like you're getting what you paid for here - might as well opt for a higher end set that you know will last.

A good upgrade....
An important upgrade that has added more speed due to the bigger rings. -Bolts included where too short -Profiles of the teeth are generic As some have notice this is not JIS but ISO so it moves chain-line 3 mm out, make sure your DD can move out far enough for the big ring. You may have to disable the smaller inner ring with this set. The limit screw was set so the smaller inner ring is not used for a road bike. Positives -Good assembly -5 bolt separate rings -Solid quality on the rings - Solid pedal arms. Overall a good product for what you pay for it.

Great crankset!
Folks, this is a great crankset. I got the 42/53 tooth variety for my 500 dollar hiland hi-bread bike. Sure, it's not a campagnolo, but with my long legs and a laid back seat post I was able to get the perfect fit with this 175mm crank. No chain alignment issues either, and it's light and pretty. For the price, it's one of the best cranks you could ask for.
