Good buy for steel tip only

Overall, these darts are nice. I got them as a gift for a beginner player. Viper is a great brand to begin with. They look and fly awesome. I had to give them a 4 star rating for one reason, they lead me to believe these were interchangeable for soft and steel tip. They tossed in “bonus” items, which were plastic tips. When I got it, it seemed like they can be used for soft and steel tip play. I tried to swap the steel tip for plastic, I was unsuccessful. I may have been doing it wrong, but regardless, it was a miss for me. Other than that, great darts.

Pretty decent darts.

The darts are a medium heft are almost balanced perfectly in the center of the shaft. The grip makes them look a little front-loaded but with flights and stems attached the fulcrum is a little farther back. Depending on your preferred grip, these might require a little more stretching of the fingers for stabilization. If this is your first dart purchase than you should have no problem with this. The dart suffers from being a bit overcomplicated with its front and back grips, which can be a little awkward on the release. Also the spinning backs are useless because they are not a tight fit, so whatever stability they are claimed to provide with the spinning, is offset by the rattling of the spinner settling on the descent. Luckily, the dart comes with standard plastic stems as well as the stems with the spinners, so I won't knock the product too much for that aspect. Overall it's a novel, cool looking and serviceable dart that isn't with some peculiarities that take some getting used to.

Excellent for the money

Excellent for the money. The weight is great for me, and the balance is perfect, right at the back end of the knurling. I don't have a whole lot to complain about, but there are a few. Also GREAT shipping, I received the darts in 11 days to an APO, and a day after Christmas(They were for myself, so not a an issue). In the description it says they come with a sliding case, it arrived in a cardboard box. It shows a set of Venom flights in the picture(both sets were The Freak flights... not a deal killer). They also show 2 different sets of darts, the one I received was the set with the shorter black knurling. And the knurling is flattening pretty fast with tight groups, and the darts sliding against each-other. I've played about 10 games and the knurling is already starting to flatten in small spots. Overall with the slight issues I gave them a 4 star for the money, but my next set will definitely be tungsten.

Good beginner dart

This is a really good beginner dart! After about a month of playing the dart gets really dull and flights fall out.

Great darts for a quality starter set

Great darts for the price. I ordered 2 sets as part of my starter kit. Heavy enough for newer players but refined enough for the average player. They are not tungsten, therefore the dart body is thicker than high end darts. When you get good enough to start tightly grouping darts, the thickness comes into play because they start pushing each other aside. FYI, the spinning shaft is not a novelty, it is intended to allow the darts to brush past each other on the board without kicking out a dart due to contact with another dart's flight. I'm not a huge fan of this feature because I feel the slightest bit of wobble at the joint when I'm throwing. Very mild, but it's there. Personal preference I assume. You can always swap out shafts...they are cheap. Also, get some O-rings (again, dirt cheap) to place between the dart and the shaft to keep the shaft snug.

Good darts, but no plastic case.

Just received the darts. The specific cut on the barrel has a good feel to it, although they are just a tad bit light in the grams category. The reason I offer 4 stars as opposed to 5 is because these darts do not come with a hardened case, just the original packaging they came in. Wondering if that is OK? While it was not advertised that the darts did not come with a case, I hate the idea of having to repackage them in the same tight packaging every time I use them. Four stars for sure. Should have come with a recycled plastic case.

Substantial and expensive-feeling dart set

I bought these darts almost two months ago to replace the cheap darts that came with my dart board. So far, these have held up great casually playing at least a few times a week. The set came with extra tips and flights, but they have remained packed away since I have had no issues at all. With the aluminum flight connection, I have no concerns about the connection posts breaking if the dart takes a fall. The knurling and grooves really help you learn how to grip the darts consistently every time. The spinning shaft was very disorienting at first, but once you get used to it, it feels weird to play with shafts that don't spin! The weight feels substantial, but not heavy, and much nicer than the weight of lighter cheap darts.

These darts are fine for any recreational dart player... IF you like spinning flights. Nowhere in the discretion is this mentioned. I personally hate them, but otherwise the product is fine.

Awesome beginner dart. Would definitely recommend as a starting dart for people looking to just get out and play every now and then.
