Very cool gift to give or receive

So this isn't heirloom quality, but it will survive one niece, and be able to go into the hands of her brother, though it might not survive super rough-housing by him after 10 years of use. It looks very cool. The details are great, and it works. It made me smile imagining what it will allow a little, magical someone to conjure up. And seriously, what a better place to store cool, important stuff. It's pricey, but will last longer for a kid than any clothing or shoes you buy & they will grow out of, so it's worthy.

It's Okay but Probably Won't Last Long

The wood is quite thin, but it works for an okay treasure chest. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for, although a bit pricey for what you get. It's worth about $30 and I wouldn't expect it to hold up to any real rough playing.

Pretty box. For decorative purposes only. Not too happy with this item. Way too flimsy especially on the bottom, for the price. A button was missing upon arrival and has a nick on it.

Poorly made, falling apart

The item was not described as distressed, but we noted two gouges exposing the cheap plywood construction that lies beneath. The shipping box was not damaged, so we're fairly certain this is either the design, or an indication of poor craftsmanship. Either way, this was dissatisfying. Also, the rivet pieces around the box - they look really nice, as long as they don't fall off onto the floor. They're held on with finishing nails. A fact I discovered after I nearly stepped on one that had fallen off as we unboxed it. One of them seemed to be missing from the point of manufacture - it wasn't in the box. The buckle on the front doesn't align properly - it is getting returned.

Nice quality except the black "stain" comes off on everything. It seems to be spray painted and not actually a wood stain. A minor gripe though.

Edges are flaking off

Beautiful looking but it will not last long. I have only opened it a few times and the finish is peeling off Can repair with gluem but it should come better built

This chest is the real deal! it is the perfect size, a bit light in wood thickness but don't let this stop you, it is solid and can hold a lot of weight, a slight wipe down with a cotton sock and any residual stain\paint comes right off making it safe to put anywhere!
