Perfect Travel Mate

Love, love, love my travel steamer. It is perfect for travel or any other important plans in your life. I highly endorse this product by Conair. Oh and don't forget to get the travel adapter for overseas.

Great travel steamer!

I used it for the first time today, it heated up in about 1min30 and took the wrinkle out of t shirt fabric as well as a thicker part wool sweater. It did a great job! I travel a lot so the dual voltage will also be a gift! I used it in the states today and I’ll be in New Zealand in a week and a half, looking forward to see if it works just as well over there ???? highly recommended! The only addition I’d love to see at the moment is a pause/stop button. So that I wouldn’t need to unplug it to give it a pause while grabbing the next garment to steam. Totally worth it either way! I haven’t looked into this, but could also be nice to have access to the bottom of the water area where the heating element is to be able to wash it well after using it with hard water. Such a great purchase! So happy with it! The plastic also seems quite sturdy and well made.

Didn't work overseas

Purchased specifically for my trip to Europe (Greece, Italy, Switzerland, England, Denmark, and Netherlands). Unfortunately it didn't work in any of those countries. I was traveling in a group so I was able to try several travel adapters but all no luck. I debated tossing it but decided to keep and return it bc 1. It's small and lightweight so it didnt end up taking up much room and 2. I wanted my money back lol. I tested it at home (California) before going on holiday and it worked as advertised. Heated up quickly, removed wrinkles quickly, and didn't spit any water out. As warned, the green area was VERY hot so be careful. If I needed a travel steamer for domestic travels, this would've been a keeper.

I purchased this along with a Samsonite Travel Steamer and compared

We are about to embark on a European trip and wanted a portable steamer. When you are limited by weight, you quickly discover that "smaller-is-better". I purchased the Samsonite and the Conair at the same time to evaluate them both. No question the Samsonite is smaller and lighter - but only marginally so. I pulled a cotton shirt - fresh out of the dryer and wrinkled, and experimented. They did indeed both work. The Samsonite took a bit longer to heat up - minute or so - and put out steam that you could not hold your hand against to the tune of about 3 inches. The Conair heated up much faster and put out steam that you could not hold your hand against to about 4-5 inches. The Conair just gets hotter faster. As the Samsonite moved on, the steam got a bit less and less. Before it was empty, it was not putting out much steam at all - and not enough to "iron" a shirt. You would have had to refill the Samsonite (refilling not a problem with either machine) to get enough proper steam to finish the shirt completely - but no question it will do the job. The Conair is a bit larger, and perhaps a tad bit heavier - but again - not appreciably so. The Conair heated very quickly and put out a lot of steam - all the way to the end of the tank. Without a doubt it got hotter and projected the steam further from the unit. The steam head is not as wide as the Samsonite, but the vents on the Conair are flared - so I would judge the width of coverage to be about the same. The amount of steam though is another issue, and to me, the more important issue. There is no question with me, that the Conair is the better of the two. The additional steam output will deal with wrinkles more efficiently than the Samsonite. The Samsonite is a good product, but it could be better. Oh, one other very small consideration. They are both dual voltage, but the Samsonite requires you to change the voltage by a switch. The Conair does it automatically. You could do with the Samsonite. It might take just a bit longer time-wise, but it will do the job. Frankly, I would prefer an even smaller unit - which I had 20 years ago - but it finally quit and was no longer made. It was about 1/2 the size of both of these and put out much more steam. You did have to fill it more often, but boy was it good - and small. I didn't give it 5 stars only because It could be smaller - and somebody should make one. I'm taking the Conair.

Really happy about this purchase!

I was nervous about buying this after reading some of the reviews, but did it anyway for a trip to Europe. It works great. It doesn't do a lot of clothes without a refill, but all I needed was to make the next day's clothes presentable for business meetings after being in a suitcase and it made that quick and easy. Folds up to pack without taking up much space or weight at all. The only minor thing to mention is that you have to let it cool down to do a refill because it's too hot to touch and the little bit of water left in it could burn you, so I would have had to wait about 15 minutes between fillings. But was able to do a blouse, pants and cardigan sweater all with one tank.

Don’t leave home without this!

Long travel days means at least a few wrinkles. I got this steamer for an overseas trip and it was worth every penny! No electric converter needed, super easy to use, just be sure you have a proper plug adapter. It heats up fast and can steam 2 shirts or both sides of a long jumpsuit with one fill. Need to steam then pack and go? I used it right before leaving the hotel. Used a towel to open it up and filled it with cold water about 3 times and it was cool enough to put back together and put in the suitcase. We had laundry washed and most of it was wrinkled when we got it back. I was so grateful to have this with us! The only bad thing I found after using this during our extended trip is that if the water is hard, you’ll get mineral deposits. You can wipe out the top of the water well and the top cap, but you can’t wipe out the inside near the heating element. So I just rinse it a couple of times, putting the top on and shaking it, and that helps. Not a deal breaker and would absolutely buy again.

Great little steamer

Works very well. Heats up quickly. Only used so far with 110v. The only downfall is no on/off switch. It doesn't hold a lot of water; probably enough for one item but it can be refilled if you use a cloth to remove the water compartment from the top. Compact and light weight.

An okay travel accessory

It’s quite compact which I like but it doesn’t do a great job on cottons or linen fabrics. Works better on rayon or viscose.

Very light, extremely compact, effective

Haven't traveled abroad yet with this, but very pleased so far. LIghtweight and very compact. Was worried if the collapsible handle would be made well but it is. There is a release button on the top to lock or collapse the handle and the mechanism seems nice and solid. Heats up fast and emits plenty of steam even with just one row of holes. Easy to open and fill. Don't need the brush attachment but others may find a use for it. This is the smallest, lightest travel steamer I have purchased. Hope it stays in Conair's lineup permanently.

Dual voltage for overseas travel!

Completely satisfied with this travel steamer! It is dual voltage which is necessary for overseas travel. Weighs just over 1 pound so if you can afford 1 extra pound (ladies:) ) in your luggage it takes wrinkles out in seconds. Holds just enough water for 1 or 2 garments. Very powerful! Follow instructions and warnings as the green body gets VERY hot so only handle by the handle when in action. Highly recommend.
