First time using a push on ball valve

I added a shut off to the hot water exit pipe from the existing hot water heater. I did not want to do a solder joint because trying to rid all the dripping water from soldering process is a pain. For the 3/4 ball valve, I removed a 1-5/16" section of the existing copper pipe to insert the new push on fitting valve. With water turned back on....no joint leak!

Had doubts at first but after reading reviews I replaced one outside valve and have to say that this is the best thing to come along since toilet paper!

You can do it!

No special skills needed. Pipe cutter or hacksaw and sandpaper. Clean off paint or corrosion. Cut out old valve. Push to connect new valve. Save a fortune.

Used this as a main water shut off to my house. It's operation is very smooth. The reason I used this shark bite valve is that it is easy to remove and replace if need be. The one I had installed years ago has lead in it which I just found out, and is not for potable water. Since it's well water and I have RO drinking water, I was not drinking the water but wanted to remove the valve for obvious reasons. This terrific valve will make future replacements a breeze without cutting pipes. I also used the fitting that converts from PVC to CPVC from well to house.

Shut the front tap!

I've been meaning (for 8 years now) to run a water line from our house into our attached garage. The main reason was for our fridge ice maker but I also wanted a hose access for those winter months. I finally decided to tackle the project. These are simply amazing. So easy to use and super fast. Once you prep your line properly, you simply push the line in the fitting, make sure it's seated all the way and Done! No more soldering. These are amazing especially for close quarters. Even if you mess up, you can simply remove them and fix your error. I have this one at the end of a temporary line that will go out the side of the garage this summer for an outside hose. (all the way to right of image) It's acting as cap right now but will be used to shut off the outside water during the winter months. Overall, these are a lifesaver. I know many people say these type of fittings don't last but I've seen homes that have had them for years with no leaks. I took a chance with these and I'm confident they will last a long time (hopefully forever). I highly recommend these especially if plumbing is not your thing. Pros: Super easy to install reusable solid, no leaks full brass fitting Cons: costly compared to normal fittings can only re-use so many times

Wow, I am impressed at how easy this was to install on an existing line. And I have the coordination and manual dexterity of a 2-year-old. I wanted to put a shut off valve to the waterline feeding my outside faucet and prevent the line from freezing over during the winter. This works very well. Just push the line into the valve (with some force) until it no longer goes further in, do the same for the other side, you're done... well, clean the floor from some water dripping because you did not put a towel to catch it, and you're done! I would NOT have paid full price for this, but the discounted price made it a great purchase
