It's perfect in my living room!

My cat enjoys using her litter box inside it. The material and color blend in with my TV stand, so you can really tell it's a cat litter box. It just looks like another piece of furniture. It did take me at least 20 minutes to assemble the box myself and the instructions where easy to follow I recommend this litter box for those trying to give their cat privacy without it being too obvious.

Love it - but I made modifications to make it work better for me

WARNING - I made modifications to this item and this isn’t what it looks like as assembled by the company’s intended drawings. My cat’s litter box is in my office. Since the pandemic started and I work from home more often, the dust has not been kind to my sinuses so a friend gave me the idea of this box. BUT - I’m old. And my cat is old. I didn’t want to have to pull the litter box in and out (it’s heavy at my age) and older cats aren’t a fan of change, so I made some modifications. First - because my cat does not like change I started with just the base and 3 sides and let him walk into the box any way he wanted for a while. After a few days when he was used to where it was located, I added the top. I’ve added one door since then, but will not add the other door for a few more days. Second - I don’t want to have to pull the litter box in and out of this piece of furniture so I put the lid on hinges (4 is over kill, but they are cheap) and installed an arm to hold the lid up in place. Because I have an XL litter pan, I did not use the insert panel inside. Instead I used that piece to help create the arm to hold the lid up and make it look more aesthetic. The piece of furniture is genius and I love it. I love that I can hide Bubba’s litter box, keep the dust down AND it looks pretty good when closed, even with my modifications. If the manufacturer reads this, I hope you consider a future edition that has hinges to lift the lid. It allows me to clean the litter box without having to lift it.

Now my cat has a private toilet.

My cat is 10 years old. She is the lovable, always hugging, laying beside me, even gives kisses!! Then along came the puppy. The puppy is 4 months old now, follows and chases the cat all the time. Decided to get a private toilet for the cat. I was disappointed when the package came, because there wasn't a litter box included, even though it's description says "TRIXIE Pet Products Wooden Pet House X-Large and Litter Box". I ordered a litter box from Amazon and all is well. I just hated spending the extra money. The pet house was very easy to assemble, all parts were included. I installed a movement light so when she entered the pet house she could see. The cabinet is well built and should last a long time. The only thing I can't find is a bed that can go on top. Can't find 29"X17", may have to make one. Would recommend this item to anyone who wants a nice piece of furniture that is actually a litter box!!

Top notch customer service!

So, it’s not real wood. Which makes it porous for spill and we’ll call it bad aiming by my tabby. I will keep buying from this company merely because they were more than on top of and responsive to my need for a replacement piece. I’m impressed and appreciate this so much in a world where good service seems lost sometimes.

Cats pleased, would recommend

My boyfriend and I put this together in about 30 mins. Not sure I would have been able to do it by myself since you have to hold pieces in place while screwing them together. He had a power drill which really helped. Its not quite wood but it's thicker than particle board. It's pretty sturdy and looks very nice. There are little magnets to keep the doors shut. I wouldn't sit on it but the top makes a nice bed for my cats. It had a burnt smell for the first two days that's gone away. My cats have already used this litter box. I put in the Iris high side box per another reviewers suggestion. The measurements online are misleading and made me think the box wouldn't fit but it does. I was also worried my bigger cat wouldn't be able to fit through the door with the high side litter. She's 10 pounds and average size and fits perfectly fine. I'm not sure a tall cat would have success though. I haven't noticed much stray litter outside the box which is amazing. It's really contained. I also put in a motion sensor light because it's really dark in there. It's probably too bright for my cats and I might take it out but it works well. Overall happy with this purchase.

Sturdy

If you have a pet safe scoop free litter box, it will fill up this entire price of furniture and the doors may not want to close. However, it works for what I needed it for which was to place in between my washer and dryer in my laundry room. That being said this is a great price of furniture, was easy to put together and is nice and heavy. Would work better with a smaller litter box.

Very effective at hiding the litter box. Construction quality ok.

This is one of those "you get what you pay for" scenarios. It's clearly particle board with a veneer and cheap hardware. (For example, the doors aren't on real hinges -- just top and bottom metal dowel pins.) Also, the instructions are IKEA style, but not very clear. I had to put the railings on twice because the instructions didn't indicate which side of the top they went on. However, for $120, it's a bargain. It hides the litter box well and looks ok in its assembled form. If you want a high-quality piece of furniture, this isn't for you, but if you want something functional and effective (and you don't mind taking an hour or two to build it), this is great. My only hesitation about buying it again would be a design choice. The access doors are on the front, which means to clean the litter box, I have to get on my knees in front of the cabinet and awkwardly stick the scoop between the box and the room, holding it from the side. I think it would be much easier if the top of the cabinet lifted up, so I could scoop from above.

Trixie House for Cat Toilet

I've had this Trixie House Cat Toilet box in my wish list for about 6 months and I finally decided I was not going to be able to find anything suitable for less so I bought it. It took me a while to assemble due to the fact that my hands are not very good but the instructions were clear enough and all the parts were there. Two little problems: As you can see in the photos, the corner didn't match properly and there was some spotting where the paint didn't take on the MDF. Neither of them are too big a deal, both can be be remedied with a can of white paint and a paint brush. I decided to leave the inner arch out because my cat litter trays are too big (I use them in rotation) and I don't want to replace them with smaller ones. The little Trixie Mat to catch stray litter was a surprise, I wasn't aware that one was included but I'm grateful for it. I've used it as well as the one I already own to cover the floor of the Cat Toilet Box around the cat litter box. For the time being I have left one door open so that my cat can get used to the whole idea. I used to keep her litter tray tucked behind my armchair so she was already used to going into an enclosed space to do her business so I think she would adapt quite well. Update: I gave since bought a lovely snuggly kitty bed to put on top of the box and my cat loves it.

Perfect

This has been a great buy. It fits the hooded cat litter tray perfectly with some space for the mat it comes with. It has reduced the mess massively from just having a hooded box. The smell is the same. But looks great in the kitchen and the side walls are interchangeable so no one can see the hole and wont realise it's a litter box. It was easy to assemble myself. It looks perfect and I am thinking of putting some plants on the top. It's also very easy to use and clean. The only downside is that it is quite expensive but there are not many designs in the uk that beat it.

Good, unless your cats ever “miss” when they pee

Panels of the double model are large enough to benefit from a second person people assembling the box. Surprisingly strong when assembled. On my item I eventually found edges and corners of the painted wood are not well sealed against damp. I strongly advise anyone whose cats may occasionally miss their litter tray when peeing to paint the interior of the main chamber. Use of a waterproof paint to seal flat surfaces and all corners/edges/joints will prolong the life of this furniture and make it much easier to keep hygienic. My cats only miss occasionally, and I had the interior thoroughly lined with newspaper, but after two years continuous use I have recently had to dispose of my unit, as a few parts of the panelling had begun to bubble and hold a smell bad no matter how thoroughly scrubbed. So, solid item. With a little preparation, or well-behaved cats, can last a long time.

Lieferung top, Produkt ein Flop

Zu allererst sollte ich voranschicken, dass ich durch meinen Vater der Messebauer war nicht gerade über zwei linke Hände verfüge, wenn es um den Aufbau von Möbeln oder sonstige handwerkliche Dinge geht. Einen Pax Schrank bekomme ich durchaus alleine aufgebaut. Dieses Katzenhäuschen hat mich allerdings wirklich frustriert. Trotz Akkuschrauber habe ich über eine Stunde gebraucht das Häuschen aufzubauen. Alleine schon, weil die Konstruktion unglaublich filigran und wackelig ist. Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass das Konzept wie die Teile miteinander verschraubt werden unnötig kompliziert ist. Weiterhin sind die einzelnen Teile nicht einwandfrei zugeschnitten und es kommt hierdurch zu unschönen Spalten. Zusätzlich sieht die Lackierung katastrophal aus (Schrammen, grauer Streifen, riesengroße Farbnasen). Zu guter Letzt richt der Schrank auch nach 15 Stunden auslüften immernoch wie eine Lackiererei. Kurzum: der Schrank ist völlig überteuert. Wohlwollend wäre ein Preis von max 35 Euro angebracht. Mein Tipp: bloss die Finger davon lassen! Nachtrag nach eine Jahr: der Lackgeruch ist weg und wurde durch eine unangenehme Geruchswolke ala Katzenurin ersetzt. Und das liegt nicht daran, dass unsere Katzen nicht wüssten, wie man ein Klo benutzt, denn ich konnte nicht feststellen, dass etwas daneben gegangen wäre. Ich nehme an, dass das Holz den Uringeruch im Laufe der Zeit angenommen hat. Kein Wunder, da ja auch keine Belüftungslöcher vorhanden sind. Ich kann mich nur wiederholen: bloss die Finger davon lassen!

Nice bit of kit but not big enough...

It's a nice clean finished easy to build sturdy bit of kit that arrived 10days earlier than expected(win) BUT I didn't read the measurements correctly and my giant litter tray will not fit in with its lid and takes up almost the entire base. My original intention was to house the litter tray, poop bags and scoop inside with dinner bowls on top in my kitchen for my little lions. But plans have since changed while I temporarily rethink the cat furniture use and possible alternative location. Currently using it as a cat stuff storage cupboard (with a hole) with cat diner on top. Litter tray still on view! Lol
