This 5” Ice Auger by Mora works great, cuts ice like hot knife in butter. I’ve used dozens of times with ice up to 20” thick and works great. Does 20” depth ice hole in well less than a minute. I added an adapter to work with an 18V drill. Operated one handed it takes just seconds to get through thick ice and hit water. Solid quality

Great for Aerating Compost!

The Strikemaster Mora makes turning compost waaaaaaay easier and more thorough compared to a pitchfork. I have five GeoBins, and each contains about one cubic yard of either finished or in-progress compost. The contents get heavy and compacted as time goes on, and trying to regularly aerate each bin with a pitchfork in the Texas heat is just ridiculous. The Mora and some elbow grease makes aerating everything really easy. I wish I bought one sooner!

5" Mora Auger

I fish mainly panfish and do not like dragging a heavy power auger or paying for one and then smelling like gas from a motor that won't start........you get my meaining. I used a 6" for 30 years and my arms needed a break on that thick ice so I sprung for a 5" Mora. The 6" served me very well. The 5" doesn't cut as fast as I'd like but man, is it easy on the arms. I drill 2 holes 18" thick with my right arm and not feel I need to switch to my left to give my right a break. Still waiting to catch a fish too big for the hole......then I might think differently.

Couldn't be happier with 5" auger

I bought the 8" auger a few weeks before purchasing the 5". One of the blades fell off my 8" after drilling my second hole and I contacted customer service and explained what happened. I had new replacement blades at my door in two days free of charge and I was so impressed that I ordered the 5" right after. I would highly recommend getting both sizes especially since it's much easier drilling a bunch of holes through 2' of ice with the 5" to find your spot and then using the 8" for your permanent holes. Will definitely stick with Strikemaster! Oh and before using either one for the first time again I put plumbers tape on each screw and re-tightened those suckers up.
