Great for regular algae (not string algae)

I had four baby koi grow twice the size they should have in my small pond causing a major algae problem. I had to re-home the fish, then used the algaecide to clean it up.

Death to Algae!

This seems to kill the algae, at least the top surface of it. Unfortunately, the algae keep coming back after a week or so. I need to use it more often, but it seems to do the job. I use it for a 300 gal. fish pond. The fish seem to be fine with it.

Used the Fountec brand and it worked pretty well. Thought I would try this and discovered later that it takes tons more to have any effect. Upon closer examination, I discovered that this has the exact same active ingredient except at a 5.4% concentration whereas the leading competitor, Fountec, has 30%. Well, this is 32 oz bottle that will cost you $27. You can get a twinpack of the 8 oz of Fountec for $20 (16 oz in total), or approximately $40 for an equivalent volume of 32 oz. Here is the kicker. While those prices reflect a $13 dollar difference, the Fountec is SIX times more powerful. That's right. To achieve the same level of treatment performance for $40 of Fountec, you would need to spend $162 on this brand. A no brainer. But if that doesn't convince you, I don't think this works as well even if you overdose...and I mean overdose by a lot. I just ordered the Fountec again. Wasted a lot of effort and time for quite awhile on this algaecide. I want these chemicals to work so I don't have to spend two hours in the hot sun scrubbing and cleaning Won't make the same mistake twice.

Works for my pond, doesn't harm the fish or frogs..

I have been using this product for over a year now. In the summer I add it to my pond every 2-3 weeks to control algae. I use a little less than recommended dosage just to play it safe for the fish. I have around 30 gold fish ranging in sizes from 2" to 10", a few bullfrog tadpoles, frogs, and snails. So far I have not noticed any stress from any. In the spring the pond gets an algae bloom and that's when I start to add the algaeside once a week. It takes a few weeks to get it under control by adding less than recommended amounts but it does the job and so far hasn't harmed any living things. I'm happy with this product and will buy again.

This product kills m fish in my pond, I should’ve gone to the local pond store didn’t want to take a drive for 20 minutes and it cost me six-year-old coy.
