I {{Think}} I like The 4x4x2inch NY Anodized Aluminum Square Cake Pans! Grade: B, 4-Stars!
Our review in short. I initially bought these (2 of) pans because I wanted to experiment with baking sweets in a toaster oven, but when they arrived, I thought they would be fun to try for smaller personal-pan sizes of my classic holiday brownie recipe- usually baked in a 8x8inch square pan and reserved for occasions when I am going to see a lot of relatives as I can never eat a whole pan alone. Pros and Cons Cons 1. Sticky labels. Most people have complained about having difficulty removing the glue residue from the labels stuck to the interior of the pan-- and there are 3-labels on each pan (interior, side and bottom) so there will definitely be an issue with at least one of them-- but an old trick to remove the residue is to carefully peel all of the labels off and apply generous amounts of olive oil or corn oil to the pan concentrating on the stick areas-- and allow it to sit for about 15 minutes undisturbed -- and then apply a drop of dish-washing liquid and scrub with a brillow pad to remove as much glue as possible and repeat -- (I never have to do this more than twice) and then clean with a soft cloth and dry before use-- 2. Temperature sensitive/warping issues. The other issue people have mentioned is that the tiny pans tend to warp at high temperatures-- but it's important to note that unless otherwise specified in the design information, most tiny bake sets will warp at temperatures above/higher than 375-degrees-Fahrenheit when baking.. So, while baking at lower temps will require a slower time line, it's not a deal breaker-- The mini pans tend to be pretty lightweight, so there are limits to what you can realistically do with a miniature bake set, so I plan to bake at 350F or lower only, and also line the bottom with parchment baking paper when using this set just to be on the safe side .. 3. Shipping should really be free on items like these-- but it wasn't the worst. Pros 1. They are super cute. I was going to get these or the Parrish brand, but I think the Parrish ones were a little bit deeper, so I got these because the larger 8x8 GoodCooks brownie pan I have been using is only 1 3/4inches deep (or just under) and it would make it easier to divide the batter recipe for my purposes to convert for use in a single mini pan without too much additional recipe tweaking-- 2. The price- Some of these mini pans have been listed at $20 or higher, but doing a little online research, I found them online for $7bucks each, and with the combined shipping it was more cost effective to buy them here on Amazon, and I sent a message to the vendor requesting that they ship the pans in a box (as sometimes the seller will ship in a thin shipping bag unless you specify otherwise--and there is greater risk of damage in transit to the item) - and they kindly did so, at no added expense- so I was very happy that our items arrived securely packaged and super fast! 3. Having a small pan size available makes it easy to undertake unique artisan-recipes or bake for younger kids, who definitely don't need a giant sized sweet baking or controlling portion size for adult baking for just one or two persons... Overall these little baking tins are definitely worth having in your kitchen Our Grade: A Solid B, or 4Stars! --
