Don't believe the poor ratings
I have used this light on my bike for several days to travel to work 10 miles round trip over bumpy city streets, and haven't had a single drop or break anywhere in the clamp. I suspect it is user error that has caused the breaks in others situations. granted I wouldn't classify this as a "rugged" piece of equipment it has serve me well so far and is worth the price. Like most of these other reviews have stated this is a light to be used to get motorist attention. This light is a very poor light if you intend to use it to see the road. It does do an excellent job of getting you noticed, it is super bright, I'll notice street signs as far away as you can see being lit up by it. As for the ring of light around its neck, while it can be somewhat annoying if you've got oncoming lights the flashing makes it difficult to see. However, with the ring it allows people to see you from the sides and not just the front. So i keep mine uncovered accept for a thin strip over the top that i cover to keep it from going directly in my eyes. So after about a week of using it it's still going strong even with the batteries it came with, and I would recommend this as a "be seen" light not as a "see" light. I'm sure there ARE better lights out there but if you're on a budget grab one of these...I'm not disappointed at all.

Stay away!!
I'm one of those fools who bought one of these for less than 2 bucks on ebay. They worked fine for sometime but it was evident that the cheap materials would come undone. It was only a matter of time. I hit a bump on the road yesterday and the taillight broke off. The taillight had come off a couple of times before on the road (the clamp and the cheap plastic isn't strong enough to really hold it with the batteries in it). I picked it up and put it in my bag and went on my way. Today, the front light broke off when I hit another bump on the road. Like I said, it was only a matter of time.. and I knew it the minute I got it from China (where else do you find a light combination for less than two bucks!). So stay away if you want something that will last you longer.

Good Light
The light is very bright and lights up the ground ahead of me. the mount for it is crap but shouldn't break under normal conditions (ex: Paved road biking) another thing to watch for is the on button...Ive had it for a few weeks now and its starting to get stuck to avoid this you just have to push the button squarely on its sweet spot... should work like a charm overall if your looking for a cheap light that will light the ground ahead of you go with this guy here

Nice light
A great value but as of this date... look for the combo package with tail light for under $2 more. http://www.amazon.com/Ventura-Bicycle-Headlight-Taillight-Combo/dp/B001NGF56O/ref=cm_cr_wr_img A great little light. One LED shines sort of straight down... others out front...want it as a middle of no where headlight maybe not... but the ocassional dark space even blinking NO ISSUE seing what is in front of me. Dispite the not a head light complaint.... have had many peple say boy is that bright... and reflective signs light up like daylight.... definitely gets you noticed... and blue white and way it flashs gets some to think maybe you are even a cop... A GOOD thing for a bike rider in an inattentive car environment. Can't complain at all.

This would be really OK for the price.. BUT
As other reviewers have said, this is OK to be SEEN, but not really good for seeing the road in front of you. That said, it's OK for night trips at slow speed where you know the terrain. The "flash" mode is good for being seen during daytime riding. I am not bothered by the small amounts of light spilling out from behind, and my light doesn't shut off when I hit bumps.... ** BUT ** the mount and mounting hardware leave lots to be desired. The handlebar mount for a couple of these lights broke just about instantly (I got a refund for these), and I've been VERY careful with the last light I have, so the mount hasn't broken YET. I do expect the mount to break sometime soon though, and am looking for a different model replacement light. The light assembly slides off the mount much too easily, so I have a nylon cable-tie holding it in place. It's a pity, because if they'd spent a little more on design and a few cents more for plastic that wasn't so fragile, this would be a decent light. ..... Yep, the mount broke on the remaining one I had last summer (2010). I taped it on with vinyl electrical tape and used it for a couple more weeks. Now, out it goes. Grrrr.

Really bright strobe
I'd recommend this light for its chasing strobe mode. I noticed more vehicles yielding to me immediately after starting using this flashlight - compared to another model with regular flash mode. The light brightness on a peak flash of a strobe is way higher compared to the steady mode. Yes, the locking mechanism could be more secure, but you can use a strap hole at the back end of the light to prevent light drops. Note: based on accident statistics, more trouble are coming not from bikers' rear, but when bike's and vehicle paths are crossing. Many of them would not occur if bicyclists are more visible from the front.

Not Durable, Waste of Money
Pros: Light output is adequate for use as a "be seen" light. The Strobe mode gets attention. Dirt Cheap. (You can find this light on eBay for less than $5). Cons: Not bright enough to actually illuminate the road. NOT DURABLE AT ALL. Cheaply made. The handlebar mount broke on the first bump I hit, and I had to glue it back together. The rubber piece covering the on\off switch easily falls off. And finally, the light itself stopped working after 45 minutes (with brand-new batteries). Some of the light shines backwards, which can be very annoying on strobe mode. Verdict: Spend a little more, and get a durable light from a reputable company, such as Planet Bike, Cateye, or Niterider.

buena linterna, algo limitada.

Confezione Spartana materiale medio/scadente
