This Is One Great Product! With one caveat after three years...
A great product. I rarely give something 4 out of 5 stars but this is one of the very, very few. It's got all the right features- bright illumination, simple, flexible and durable construction and even comes with two kinds of rechargers- AC, and 12V car chargers. What more could you want from a battery operated service light? So pleased I'm getting another one. Remember when trouble lights had incandescent bulbs or fluorescent bulbs? Well, I had a fluorescent with a 15' AC cord unit just recently breaking the bulb. It served me quite well for years... It was time though. The cover in front of the bulb cracked and disintegrated where its hangar hook clamped. Looking back on it, that was really primitive compared to this one! The rotation, twist/tilt hinges of the Torchstar unit have a VERY SOLID feel. Construction of the entire piece is great- from the magnetic base, to a little flap for the charger socket. The entire handle has a grippy feel to it that I like and the magnetic base is quite strong but covered with a rubbery covering that seems to be scratch preventive. Minor complaint- no charge status or flashlight mode that some other products have. I tried other products with those features though, found them missing all of the features of this one. Decided that lack of charge status and flashlight features at best were minor annoyances and far away from the intended goal - a solid product able to travel and survive on the road, in my tool bins- of much higher importance. One down-side discovered after five years with three of these in use: the red case is affected by heat and becomes sticky to the touch over time. You ought to fix this with a different better material. If kept in a warm environment (Garage, uncooled workspaces), it will get so sticky that ceiling insulation sticks to it. The LED unit went to ¼ brightness, e.g., failed. But this is five years. Can't fault them for that one. I use these ALL THE TIME and recharge regularly. Battery has kept on ticking... I was hoping to contact the company (torch star.us) for advice and possible replacement parts (took it apart to see how easy or hard it would be to replace the case and LED unit - one a pain, the other fairly easy). Saw it's built well as expect. Enclosing pics of a take-apart view and the case exterior. Both are possible, but is it worth simply replacing after this long? Recommended!

Not waterproof (oops)
This started out as a great product. Light was bright, magnet was super handy. Then it started blinking funny and spazzing out on me. So I put it in the vice and made myself feel better. It's not spazzing anymore. Now I have to find an LED work light that works. UPDATE: When I bought this light, I thought that the description said it was waterproof because it said waterproof rating IP20 in the description. Well, I looked up waterproof rating IP20 and that means it is not waterproof (see below). I got it very wet while washing my tractor, so maybe that's why it failed. In the meantime, I bought a couple of other lights and they are all not as versatile as this one. None of the other lights could do it all: bend, rotate, magnetic base, hook and rechargeable. So I bought another one. I'll update this review to 3 stars for now. If the light holds up (staying dry), I will update the review. International Protection Ratings (IP ratings): First Digit: Solids The first digit indicates the level of protection that the enclosure provides against access to hazardous parts (e.g., electrical conductors, moving parts) and the ingress of solid foreign objects. Level Object size protected against Effective against 0 Not protected No protection against contact and ingress of objects 1 >50mm Any large surface of the body, such as the back of the hand, but no protection against deliberate contact with a body part. 2 >12.5mm Fingers or similar objects. 3 >2.5mm Tools, thick wires, etc. 4 >1mm Most wires, screws, etc. 5 Dust Protected Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment; complete protection against contact. 6 Dust Tight No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact. Second Digit: Liquids Protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against harmful ingress of water. Level Object size protected against Effective against 0 Not protected - 1 Dripping watter Dripping watter (vertically falling drops) shall have no harmfull effect. 2 Dripping water when tilted up to 15° Vertically dripping water shall have no harmful effect when the enclosure is tilted at an angle up to 15° from its normal position. 3 Spraying water Water falling as a spray at any angle up to 60° from the vertical shall have no harmful effect. 4 Splashing water Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect. 5 Water jets Water projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects. 6 Powerful water jets Water projected in powerful jets (12.5mm nozzle) against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects. 7 Immersion up to 1m Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion). 8 Immersion beyond 1m The equipment is suitable for continuous immersion in water under conditions which shall be specified by the manufacturer. Normally, this will mean that the equipment is hermetically sealed. However, with certain types of equipment, it can mean that water can enter but only in such a manner that it produces no harmful effects.

Bright versatile well made light.
I bought this to BBQ with. I haven't used it for that yet but I think it should be perfect. The light feels solid and well made. It is about 11 inches long and about a 2 and 1/2 inch circumference. The unit angles 5 different ways and has 2 lights and 1 button on the side. 1 light is on top and 1 light is on the side. The top light allows you to use it as a regular handheld flashlight. The side light allows you to use it secured by it's base. The on button is located on the side. Press the button once to turn the top light on, a second time to turn the side light on and a third time to turn the side light brighter. Pressing again shuts it off. The base has a strong magnet. The magnet seems very powerful. Powerful enough to hold the light upright or sideways or to use it to pick up screws or fallen nails and such. There is a plastic hook on top that swivels and allows you to hang the light. The hook seems fragile and looks like it will not take a lot of stress and will probably break. There were no directions but it's simple enough to figure everything out. There is a little rubber cover below the power button near it's base that opens up to allow charging. The charger and cable were included. I will follow up if there any issues or anything to add.
