Thin but works

It works well in the classroom. The paper is a bit thin and not thick. It serves it's purpose well.

Easy to use and as described

I've purchased these a couple times, and I'm about to purchase them again. I use them for my coaching business, and they're perfect for breaking down concepts for my clients. They shipped flat, and I haven't received a damaged set, so I'm very happy. Highly recommend this brand.

A bit flimsy, but still a good product.

As other reviews have mentioned, the cardboard on the back of these pads is extremely flimsy. Don't expect to stand up the entire pad on an easel for presentations or anything. The pads in their entirety are too darn heavy (I'm talking multiple pounds) and will not allow for that sort of presentation. However, it's great for tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons. The individual sheets of paper are high quality, albeit rather thin. The upsides to this is that they do not hold a curvature very long if the whole easel gets rolled a bit in transportation. Be wary of the corners though, they can get crumpled and are tough to un-crumple. I use this paper for tabletop roleplaying games, and am absolutely loving it. It's wonderful to sketch out an idea, decide I don't like it, then just crumple it up and toss it. Alternatively, if I come up with something good, I can set it aside and keep it for months without needing to erase it for more space (like on a vinyl gridded mat). The paper receives pencils, markers, and coloring very well. It also resists tearing better than I expected. The perforations at the top are not fussy, and break just as you would expect them to (no random tears down the top of your charts/maps). All in all, this is a great product for its price. I recommend it for RPG mappers.

Great for D&D maps, not much else.

I bought this to make some maps for my D&D campaign, and I would highly recommend them for that purpose. They're really big for larger maps, and they hold ink decently but it does bleed through, but theres a lot of paper, it's going to last a long time. However, there are definitely places where the squares aren't a perfect inch, or some lines don't meet up, so I wouldn't recommend for things that require exact measurements. The easel board it comes on is also quite flimsy, as it's just cardboard which can't hold up the heavy amount of paper. All in all I would recommend this for map making but not much else.

Great paper for Dungeons and Dragons battle maps

This paper, with 1 inch squares (on the center of the gridlines) is excellent for creating battle maps for Dungeons and Dragons. However, markers will bleed through the paper if a separator is not placed between the layers. While the paper tears well at the seam without ripping into the sheet, the squares at the top are not full square inches. The paper itself is sturdy enough to hold its own weight and some more besides.

Great but thin

These easel pads were shipped in a think box laying flat(not rolled). The sheets have no backing on them (not sticky on the top). They are completely blank (no lines for writing). The three hole punch is in the top where the pages are bound (not on the pages themselves). Using markers it will bleed through to the next page. I have found keeping a scrap piece under the sheet catches any transfer and then I reuse the scrap under the next sheet. The pages are very thin and not very sturdy. It is backed with a piece of cardboard, also thin and flimsy. The entire pad could easily be rolled up if you wanted. It will not stand up on its own. The pages tore cleanly. It's very large and because it is flimsy the only area I found where I could work on it without a stand was on the floor. I would've liked to see the pages a little thicker. But overall it is a good product for the price.

Great Value

As compared to the typical $15 to $30 per pad, these are a great value. The pads arrived in perfect condition. For this price and quality, I can live with flimsy backing. I am using a cheap aluminum flip chart easel, also purchased on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042AUMTS/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1. So far so good. Contrary to those reviews, it can hold a 34" long pad. You just have to fold the pad holder shelf in. The reason why I rated it four stars is because the predrilled holes did not fit the pegs on my easel's pad retention clamp. It's about 0.5" too narrow. To fix this, I had to figure out if the problem was my easel or the pad. Since my 3m pad - wihich I imagine would be standard - works on my easel and this one doesn't, I think this one is off. I rarely use power tools, so having to measure and drill this to fix it was a big deal. I think that the holes really should have fit without me having to modify the pad to make it fit.

Great pad, great price, one caveat...

I use jumbo pilot pens for stage presentations, and they bleed through onto the next page every time. If you are not using a heavy ink pen for this, I'm sure it will be fine. For my particular application, I end up wasting 50% of the pad due to bleed through.

Paper seems like good quality, but I recieved lined paper instead of inch grid that I ordered.

Great for RPGs or Presentations

Got it for making RPG maps and it's the perfect size grid. The backing is semi-thin cardstock, so the easel won't stand on it's own; It needs to be hung or mounted on a stand if you want to use it vertically. At 30 cents a sheet it's a good deal.
