Gorgeous color, put in the work, check Cotton!
The color came out great for this dye. I followed the directions on the back to a T (excpet for the occasional stirring for 45 minutes, I did it for 30) and it came out wonderfully! I actually did the clothes one at a time, and then kept adding a bit of hot water each time to "activate" the dye for another piece. You may notice that one skirt came out darker than the other, and the jacket came out dirty white pink (barely pink at all) This just has to do with the material. All of these pieces are 100% cotton, except maybe the jacket. I actually dyed this jacket first, as it was a dirty pink white from before (Rit dye fail) and I really wanted to save it. But I've realized that the jacket may not be 100% cotton and could be blended. As for the skirts, I did the flared skirt second, and the jean skirt last. One was lighter than the other, so it probably soaked in more color quickly. I'm so happy because even though the jean skirt was originally a coral pink (failed RIT Dye experiment lol) it came out a perfect light pink color. I recommend this!

Not what expected
It was a waste of time and money in my humble opinion. We bought black to use on canvas, mixed it as instructed with salt. All the reviews say use hotter water the better. We mixed in a 2 gallon bucket with near boiling water, and salt as instructed. Constantly stirred for 15 min then occasionally the last 45 min. The canvas color was already purple I would’ve thought it would darken it some, the dye just rinsed off. So I tried white, 100% cotton rags and dish towel. The best it could do was a light grey. Just a “Megh” kind of product in my opinion! I’d use it to restore maybe clothing colors but not to truly dye fabric to a new color.

Disinigrates clothing fabric
Waited 45 minutes with the clothes in hot water and dye per the directions. Some articles were ripped and completely unusable. It eats fabric. Was messy too.

Disappointed
The packaging states this will make up to one gallon but I did less than half a gallon and the color was too washed out. I have used the same brand with the small bottles you get from the craft store and they are great. If only the instructions were clearer about how much water to add to make it like those other bottles I would have had a better result.

Doesn't work.
I tried this in black on three different coton fabrics, it symply doesn't work. The color change is barely noticeable, this is a waste of money. I am surprised to see that some gave more than one star to this product.

Good for small items
You will need a few packets for a strong enough pigment.

purple dye
This product did not dye the silk fabric I had, not sure if it was my fault for buying the wrong type of dye, or my material being silk and something else? Colour was as stated, so it may come in handy for something else!

I recently purchased this in order to dye a royal blue cardigan black and to dye some bleach stains out of a black cardigan I had. Both where made from cotton. I followed the instructions to a T but once they had dried the bleach stains remained and the royal blue cardigan was patchy. I tried something different with each of the three packets leaving them to soak longer each time but it didn't work in the end.
