Timer
Its ok. It isn't very loud and it sounds off pretty low. So if its in another room and you have the TV on in the other room its real hard to hear it. It does tick but that is low also. We wanted this kind on purpose for we have the digital for the kitchen. This was for training a pup to eat and get use to the sound of the timer and alarm time. Was a idea from a friend with a pup that also took forever to ear. the food is picked up after that alarm goes off. You can see it up to a hour or a lot less for whatever. I want to try another one that is louder with a longer louder alarm. this one is to quiet.

Sheesh... A Waste Of Money And Time
This timer broke after only three weeks of use in a normal family kitchen. It wasn't dropped. Nothing was dropped on it. It wasn't cooked or fried. But after just three weeks, the (cheap as hell) plastic dial broke and wouldn't allow us to set the timer. During the three weeks it worked, it worked fine. But three weeks? I remember my mother and my grandmothers had the same timers for years and years. Nowadays, however, and especially most of the trash that comes from China and/or Mexico, isn't worth the shipping costs, much less the cost of the items themselves. For me, and this is only my own opinion, this cruddy kitchen timer represents everything that is wrong with the U.S., and is why we are a service country rather than a manufacturing country. Our unions have demanded and ultimately priced themselves out of business. CEOs and top management are grabbing every cent of profit they can squeeze and keeping it all for themselves. Our schools turn out cry babies who can't read or spell or do simple math in their heads. But I digress. This timer isn't worth a plug nickel.

Smooth when moving dial an added nice feature, some are not that way and not ...
Made in China. Does not have any strange odour to it. Reliable. Smooth when moving dial an added nice feature, some are not that way and not too tight to turn for those whom that is difficult. Bell sounds like an old telephone but muffled. Nice bell sound. Need to be in the same room or next room to really hear it, unless home is quiet. We are happy with our purchase.

accurate for me, a bit noisy
I haven't done lots of controlled tests, but when I got it I checked it against an electronic time for several time periods (10", 20, 45...) and it was impressively accurate, esp as it's hard to set a mechanical timer that precisely. I like mechanical timers because they take no time at all to set and somehow the mechanical bell cuts through other noises more than the beep of electronic timers. One negative is that it's more noisy when counting down than other timers I've had. I wouldn't want it sitting right next to me.

timer review
There are problems associated with timers, like the timer stops ticking before it winds down to the bell or the bell doesn't ring. I was worried about this because I read about it. This timer, however, has worked great for me. It did stop ticking twice. But that only happened out of about forty times of use. The last two weeks it has worked perfectly. I like the design of the timer and think it is an excellent product.

Not worth the money
The timer has been used maybe four times a day when I made tea or as a cooking timer. It started working only intermittently a few weeks ago and today stopped working completely. The old one it replaced (different brand) lasted about 15 years before finally giving up the ghost. This one barely lasted three months. Poor quality and durability, even for such a low price.

Easy to use timer.
Nice timer, easy for young children to use learning to cook, as my great granddaughter.

JUNKY TIMER
I purchased three of these timers. At the time, the company would not ship fewer than three. The first of the three did not operate at all. I then started using the second one lasted for six weeks. I am now onto the third one. I wonder how long it will last.

Useless - it didn't ping at the end of it's set period so I sent it straight back.
