Great Timer

I originally wrote a review on this item that might have been a little confusing since I couldn't find it. I knew it was in my cart and saved for a future date, I finally found it a few days ago. It is exactly the same timer that we have had for the past 15-20 years and has always worked flawlessly. This on just has a different name on it but I guarantee, it's the same exact model and device. I can only give you information on my original timer, it is easy to set and use, The numbers are easy to read from almost any where in the Kitchen, and when the alarm goes off, you can hear it from anywhere in the house. Many times we had put a pumpkin pie in the over and set the timer for 80-90 minutes, and my wife and I could clearly hear the alarm from upstairs and on the other side of the house from the Kitchen. We love it so much that I wanted to have a spare. But since the original one is still working great, I might just retire it soon and use this newer timer which is not faded from the sun hitting it over the years. We have kept it on the refrigerator and its magnet holds it in place very well. A great timer, and I'm sure anyone would get a lot of years of use from this device. I'm glad I finally found it and placed it in a place in my Kitchen that I would know where to look nest time I need it. I highly recommend this timer to anyone.

Love this timer! The magnet grips tightly to my refrigerator door. It’s the only timer I’ve found that is loud enough to hear if you are in another room!

Digital timer

The timer on my oven is a pain - hard to set, the buzzer isn't loud enough and it turns off too soon. I was tired of dealing with it and decided I deserved something better. Good things about this timer: large digital read out; magnet on back allows flexibility in mounting, although the fact that you can't let it get too hot does limit you. And the alarm is definitely loud enough! A lot of people would think it was too loud, but I'm hard of hearing, so I needed something that would knock most people out of their chair. Negatives: I keep forgetting to push the start button to begin the count down - previous timers did not require this. If it had an led that lit up when activated, or if the flashing colon indicating it's set were a bright red or yellow, it would help. I'm hoping I get used to this but if I don't in a couple more weeks, I may have to get another type of timer, as I've come close to ruining some dishes because I forgot to push the start button. This is the reason I'm giving it only three stars. Although I knew when I bought it that it didn't count down seconds, this is a bigger inconvenience then I expected. Not a deal breaker, but I need to count seconds more often then I realized. Also, there are times I would like to set it on the counter (usually because my metal surfaces are getting too hot). You can do that, but it slides around when you try to punch one of the buttons so you need to use two hands, not always convenient. None the less, it is a big improvement on my oven timer and, over all, I'm pretty happy with it.

A timer you can actually hear!

I am a retired professional baker, and these were the timers we primarily used. Any others I have tried, its hard to hear the buzzer, this one is really loud, which I want in a busy kitchen. Easy to set, and turning it off can be tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, its a piece of cake:) The battery can fall out if dropped, so as soon as I load in the battery, I put a piece of electrical tape over it. It is, in my opinion, the best timer on the market for the price.

This one didn’t last

I’ve used this brand of timer for many many years, even in pre-Amazon days. It still has my favorite timer features - very long and loud alarm. My first Amazon purchase of this timer was 20011. That one lasted 11 years. I replaced it in July and I got 3 months of use. I’ll try once more in case that was a fluke. Disappointing.

Loud!

I must have spent hours working out which kitchen timer to get, I settled on this one and I am glad I did. It's LOUD (think loud digital alarm clock, plus a bit), which means it can be heard from other rooms; this likely one of the few timers on Amazon that you can hear when you're in the living room. The other key point is it's powered by conventional AAA battery and not some stupid button battery that is expensive and hard to source. The display is a reasonable size so you should be able to see it from anywhere in your kitchen. The buttons are a fair size, you get pause functionality, and you can set it in hour and minutes. There is a magnet on the rear that is nice and strong, and also a sprung clip should you not have anything metal to attach it to. The only downsides to it are the display is not backlit and it's not that pretty.

Works well and is an indispensable piece of kitchen equipment

I have had an identical model that worked well for many years. It recently became a little too quiet! Strangely this earlier model was by 'Big Time - Salter'. But it is otherwise identical. Its replacement is equally as reliable and its alarm is loud and just as we would want it to be. A convenient size and its magnetic attachment at the rear is most useful as it resides on the front of our bread-maker. A very good buy!
