This is the size of your face

I love marble and this is a pretty piece. It's almost like a joke though, because it is so very big!! No kidding. Other than it being huge, it was a bit rough as far as the marble goes and I was concerned about it staining. I ended up sanding just the marble with super fine sandpaper so it was super smooth and more polished. Then I put a coat of oil on it to protect it. It's nice, I really like it. I do see how if it were dropped the handle would break off. The weight of the stone vs the handle is so different that there is no way the handle could hold up. I just don't know how the handle could be attached to hold up to that kind of force. Just be careful not to drop it, and it's beautiful and as big as your face! :)

Stone (ie., white marble) is naturally porous; buy food-grade mineral oil.

I'm writing this review only b/c I see a handful of 1-star reviews from people who apparently only buy products dipped in plastic or other sealants... and immediately complained when they carelessly stained their new white spoon rest. It's stone, people. Goodness gracious... buy some cheap food-grade mineral oil and rub it into every stone and wood product you own. It'll prevent stains and make your products last longer. Naturally porous materials (i.e., like white marble and acacia wood) will stain easily. If you fill those pores with red chorizo liquid or other dark liquids, you'll have a hard time getting it out. So plug up those pores, yeah? You should be treating your wood cutting boards and other stone products—at least a couple times a year—with mineral oil. . . . . My only surprise when buying this product (white marble spoon rest) was that it was larger than expected. Serves me right for not reading the description. It looks nice and it fits well in my kitchen, size-wise.

Heavy and Big but still Pretty

I noticed in some of the reviews they mentioned the wood was poor quality. Mine was ok, but then I hand washed it and it got really dried out. I rubbed some olive oil on the acacia wood part and it brought it back to a natural wood color. The marble surface is bigger than expected but it's still a sturdy nice spoon rest. This was a gift so I didn't want to return it and I made it work for me. This is heavier because of the marble so I had a little trouble hand washing it since I use dish gloves. Overall, I liked it enough to keep.

Just use a ping pong paddle

While I love the look of the marble matched with the wood, this item is ginormous. It literally is the size of a ping pong paddle. Way too big IMO. If you need to lay 4-5 utensils on it at once, it’s great. I suppose it could be used as a tray of some sort, but the spoon shape throws it off. Great price point but I sent it back.

Beautiful spoon rest

Bought as a gift for my daughter who has other kitchen items in this hammered copper pattern and she loves it. The only thing she said was you cannot clean it in the dishwasher and must hand wash to protect the finish. It seems to clean easy enough that it will not be an issue.

Great but a bit too big

Bigger than expected, I didn't read the size, but except for the size that's a bit too big, I really like the product and it have a nice look on my stovetop. Finition is also great.

Good product, awful shipping

This is a great product to rest your spoons, spatulas, and other cooking utensils on. It's perfectly sized and great for sitting between your 4-stove cooktop. I would give it a 5/5 rating, excepting the two massive caveats that came with the product. The first being that this is made of raw marble. Marble, being porous, sucks in water, grease, and all kinds of nasty things. It needs to be treated with MINERAL oil (not organic, otherwise it'll smell). Secondly, the shipping. When the spoon rest arrived, it came in two pieces, the wood clearly having been broken off of the marble. I'm sure it's not the seller's fault entirely, but it is up to them to provide more robust shipping materials. I believe a package full of air packets and packing peanuts would work better than the double-box and air packet method. Besides half hour I spent worrying over and fixing the spoon rest, it's a great product to use. Just... not worth the money and hassle. It should arrive in a non-broken condition.

Cute spoon rest

This spoon rest looks great in my kitchen. The materials seem good quality. Some spaghetti sauce did stain it a bit so make sure you clean it right away!

Bigger than expected

A little bit bigger than expected but very good looking! Got mine in black marble.
