Great work horse.
The little pump that could. Compact but powerful. Using it with Tetra pond skimmer and it not only catches the leaves right away, but clears the water very quickly.

2-Years, 5-Months, 18-Days
Stuck at home during pandemic, I started digging up backyard to install a pond (and get out of house). Pond is a 275-gallon upper, cascading down to a 220-gallon lower. There are a mixture of goldfish and koi in both. Pump is also hooked up to a filter and worked beautifully. For 2-years, 5-months and 18-days 9 (the packaging says limited 3-year warranty). I still ordered another

Great value pump for the pond or aquaponics hobbyist
I actually haven't plugged this in yet, so I don't even know if this specific unit works. However, I have been using TetraPond pumps since the spring of 2012 in my backyard aquaponics system. They have been very reliable and I haven't had one fail yet. I shut down my system in the winter but I have run pumps continuously from late April through late November. I have both smaller and larger pumps than this one, but I specifically bought the 325 GPH pump as I'm going to set up a solar heating system and need a pump to circulate the water through it. I want to run higher temperatures in the aquaponics system to increase fish growth rate. A few reminders: First, as you increase the pressure head ie. the vertical distance that you want to pump the water, the flow rate drops off. They show on the packaging how much flow is lost per vertical distance. This must be taken into account when you're choosing a pump. As an example, if you need 325 GPH of water flow, you would need a larger pump to achieve that flow rate if your pressure head is a foot or more. Second, the plastic hose adapter should be handled carefully so you don't snap it off accidentally. It hasn't happened with any of these pumps, but I have a different brand where it happened. It is, after all, plastic. When you place a hose over it, try to gently slip it on. What I've found helpful is to gently heat the end of the hose with a lighter to soften the plastic hose so it will slip over the adapter easily. Once the hose cools, it will stay put, though you should slip a stainless steel hose clamp over the hose/adapter to ensure it stays in place. Lastly, I run my pumps in an aquaponics system and it can handle uneaten food and solid fish waste easily without getting plugged. However, I keep the tanks covered with tarps to block out a lot of light so no algae grows in my system, and also netting to prevent leaves and other debris from falling into the tank, and also to prevent fish from jumping out! This means that I don't usually have problems with anything solid plugging the pump. If you plan to use this pump for an outdoor pond, remember that plugging of the pump can be an issue. I think they sell pre-filters to help with this but you'll have to do your own research on that. Good luck!

Great addition to my ponds
I bought 2 of these for my preform ponds that I installed in front of our house and included a spillway for each pond. The upper pond is a 50 gallon Biscayne so the pump is only having to pump water up 18" to the top of this pond for the spillway, but the other one is a 100 gallon that the pump has to pump the water up about 3 feet to the spillway that sits on the shelf of the Biscayne pond and sticks over the lip to spill back into the lower pond. This pump has no trouble maintaining a good flow through the spillway for a nice waterfall. The only issue I have is no fault of the pump or any of the hoses, but due to the wind blowing almost every day in Nebraska at 5-10 mph we have to add water pretty regular due to the wind blowing the water out of the pond as it comes through the spillway. I had already set up the ponds this season, but figured out this issue after thinking we had a slight leak in the hoses or at the connection on the spillway. I have since emptied the ponds until I can figure out a way to fix this issue without losing the eye appeal of the waterfalls. I also need to pull the lower pond back out of the ground to fix an issue with the hole it sits in because of the water blowing out and draining underneath it. It's possible that when I pull this pond out and fix the hole that I may be able to reposition it closer to the upper pond to fix the water loss issue. If anyone has any ideas on ways to fix this water loss issue, I am all ears and value any and all ideas. I will be adding pics in the very near future once I get time to take some. Pros: good water flow for the average decorative pond with spillways, easy to install (drop it in and plug it in), has good rubber feet to keep it off the bottom, easily attaches to the TetraPond 500 gallon box filter Cons: I don't have any

The pump is seems ok pump
I’m not an avid tank/pond keeper, but I typically have a budget friendly pond or fish tank or something, so I run into tetra products a lot and I’ve owned a few. Their performance isn’t superior, but it’s not bad. It’s a recognizable brand, so a bit pricier than other devices of the same quality available on the market. But their packaging is horrendous. First it seems like they’ve decided to single-handedly choke this planet with plastic. Every device comes in a plastic box! It is absolutely unnecessary and there are plenty of alternatives. Second- they thermoseal it to make sure you get at least lightly injured trying to open the packaging. One star for user experience. Really, Tetra?

Working great so far!!!!
I bought this pump after mine died(exact same model) after about 4 years of use in summers outside. I tried contacting 'Tetra' directly with no success for help in finding this model as it was I believe an older model pump. No response to emails and hung up on me over the phone. I did some searches a few times and then I found it her on Amazon. It arrived in 1 day! And not with prime. Connected to the filter I already had/had the fountain attachments already. Anyway, I have only had it running for a day but working great so far.

Disappointing and costly
This pump for our pond was useless.Said it would spout as a fountain at least three feet high..one foot.Put in pond so could not return for 69 dollars.Had to buy 550gal one for over 100 bucks and had to use extension cord and still one and a half feet as water fountain.Bunch of money..Cant get out because of covid..most disappointing Carole

Still working
Mine has been running steady in my back yard pond for 3 years (minus winter). Still like new. Magnetic coupling between motor and pump so no damage should the impeller get stuck. easy to clean. Very well made.

good pump haven't used it for a long duration but ...
good pump haven't used it for a long duration but it moves the water at a decent rate. one downfall is the thread to hose connectors twisted off on me when I tried to tighten them. on the plus side half inch PVC will fit in there nice and snug.
